Steve Jackson wrote a series called 'Sorcery!' for penguin to have a FF series catered to adults. It has these types of 'gotchas'. Another common cheat was to auto pass luck tests, so it also had a number of scenarios where passing your luck test caused you to have an instadeath or worse path.

I really do love these so much. RoadQuest proved that Beej and Adam are beautiful together, and Paul in the background is always lovely. With all three, you get such wide ranging references and jokes from utterly disparate and esoteric sources all blended together in a wonderfully unique and chaotic mess.

my mom woke me up by yelling my name up the stairs. before that, when i was in a crib, i woke up first and yelled down the stairs. runs in the family i suppose.
