ND filters for the pocket 2 are the number one accessory for your camera. I really appreciate Freewell sending me the All Day 8 pack set. I would only give them a positive review if their product was good, fortunately they make great products. Do you use ND filters for the Pocket 2 or Osmo Pocket?

A great job! Thank you.

the pocket 2 has one of the best microphones I've ever heard honestly. miles above any other built in camera mic. i still use an external mic, but you don't need to. In the past I've shot videos without an external mic.

DAVE...now we officially know your name! Ha, good luck with the new channel name. Nice video, your shots looks so crisp and smooth compared to my shots. Nice to see companies like freewell getting gear to smaller creators to review, its about time. Love your comment on Canadians not getting cold!

Thanks Shane I appreciate it. Ya I was kinda surprised that Freewell reached out to me. I'm just glad their product was good, it would have sucked if I had to give it a bad review! Yes we Canadians do get cold, we just don't like to mention it. Thanks.

Thanks for the great information, Dave. I only heard you mentioning the use of a couple of the filters. I wonder if you ever find yourself using the ND4 that comes with the pack, or any situations for the CPL (only) filter.
@DavidDavies
@DavidDavies 3 года назад
I don't really use the ND4 or the CPL filters. I find that if I am shooting outside the ND4 doesn't really do much, I mostly use the ND16 & 32.

@@DavidDavies Hi, if you have to pick only one which one would you go 16 pl or 32 pl from freewell? Some budget issues here.

Dave, very informative video. I just recently picked up the Pocket 2 and was researching ND filters for it. Your video made that decision very easy. Thanks for that. 1 question for you. What mode are you using in your video, follow, fpv, or tilt lock?

I just got it today, I have ordered Freewell all day 8 pack for Osmo Pocket ( older model) but they sent me Freewell all day 8 pack for Osmo Pocket 2 😅. I hope it works very on old Osmo Pocket. This is first time I use filter for Osmo Pocket, I don't really know how to use with 8 pack. If you have any experience to use this, please making more videos about Freewell All Day 8 pack filters. Thank you so much.

I’m new to DJI Pocket 2 and filters. So when you change to a shaded area, are you changing filter multiple times throughout the day??

Really good video! Love the b-roll footage that you got too. Was connected with you on the #nosmallcreators FB page. I need to go a little in depth and learn more about the pocket2 as well. New subscriber, hope to stay connected here!

Hi Jimmy, thanks for the comment, both here and on FB. It really is a pretty good little camera. I am always surprised at the quality of the footage from this little gimbal camera.

I did purchase a cheaper set on amazon but I am not really happy with them. I think I need to upgrade to a freewell set. Thanks for the video, looks great.

Ya I really like the Freewell set, although my Polar Pro set worked pretty well.

thanks for your really nice review, but these are super expensive ($130.00 USA dollars not counting tax), fully 1/3 of the price of the camera! I would suggest doing a comparison of nd filters that are 1/2 the price of these to see if the cost is worth it (I saw one review that could not see the difference). I could be wrong---you are the expert, but just a thought.

question how do you use the Rode Go wireless. you mentioned. you plug 3.5 into do it all handle? how you do it man
@DavidDavies
@DavidDavies 3 года назад
Hi Marty, I don't use the Rode Go wireless, I use the Rode Micro shotgun mic, but it's the same idea, I used the DJI audio adapter that plugs into the bottom of the Pocket 2, the adapter has a 3.5mm port, then I plug in my microphone. If you have the do it all adapter I believe it has the 3.5mm port built into it. To be honest though, I shot all of the on camera parts in this video with the internal microphone on the Pocket 2 and I was pretty happy with the quality. It was pretty windy that day and the river is pretty loud but the audio was pretty good.

Great video - I’m still on the fence given the cost as to NDs Here in Australia it’s super high sunlight - do these scratch your lense are the magnets rubber backed - do you have a lens protector and does this weaken the magnet ?
@DavidDavies
@DavidDavies 3 года назад
I agree the cost of the ND filters for the Pocket 2 or Osmo Pocket does seem a bit high considering how small and simple they are. I would imagine you get a lot of sun in Australia, I am kinda of jealous here in Canada 😀 The filters do not scratch the lens, I do not use a lens protector. The magnets are pretty strong.

@@DavidDavies I’m thinking perhapes ND32 or possibly 64 - however 16 might be ok if I run 1/120 and 60 FPS

Do you shoot in d cine?
@DavidDavies
@DavidDavies 3 года назад
Ya I have used d cinelike, but to be honest I don't find it helps that much. I find that if I expose properly and the white balance looks good then the standard colour image looks decent, plus it saves time. Do you use it?

Have you use Polarpro NDPL filters? I have heard that those are not perfectly fit on OSMo pocket 2. What is the quality difference between Freewell and Polarpro ND/PL while using pocket 2 ?
@DavidDavies
@DavidDavies 2 года назад
My first set of filters was Polar PRo and they were great, mine fit perfectly. The only reason I switched was Freewell gave me a free set with more filters, I really enjoy the Freewell filters but the Polar Pro are good as well.
