If you wait to put the new oil filter in, you will dump a half to a quart of old oil in the clean oil pan. Stays in the engine until you remove the vacuum. Just discovered this by accident while doing a pan gasket.

if engine is normal hot and you just stopped after driving the oil pressure will go down to 16-18 and than slowly rise to 23-26 within 3-5 minute.

16-18 is considered low don’t believe google saying it’s acceptable. The engine running that low for long time will cause motor failure. I just went thru that lucky I had a reason to change the oil pan and found bad oil pump o rings

Buenas tardes con una pregunta fijate q un camion dd13 cascadia la aguja no sube la presión cuando esta arrancado y se enciende la luz de motor y no acelera bien y se apaga y da el mensaje q no hay presión de aseite al desconectar el sensor ya no tira el mensaje y se queda arrancado normal q me aconsejas cera q es lo mismo q explicas en este video

Francisco i had a break down in south carolina 2012 dd15 720k 24 hrs from last pm . While driving at 65mph oil preassure dropped then a clunk cluck cluck noise was heard driver pulled over and shut the engine .worst cause senerio bearing damage on piston bearings or crank bearings .. if crack shaft is not damage can or have you experianced changing out all bearing and oil pump and resealing with new o-rings and sump and having the truck fix the cluck sound ? In other words if you had a clucking sound after oil pressure would you rather change out the motor or just replace the bearings if one or more were damaged? Thanks

For the oil pan gasket should be 22 ft./pnds to 25 ft./pnds The silicon goes only in the little square in each corner of the oil pan gasket.

the ecm looks at oil temp as well as pressure to trip a low oil pressure code. also before you start this job you should find out how many seconds the engine ran with low oil pressure. if it is excessive when the pan is off and the oil pickup is off that would be the time to drop a couple of bearings and inspect them. if they are scuffed- REPLACE ALL THE BOTTOM END BEARINGS RIGHT NOW! no exceptions...

forgot to mention if you are going to drop a couple of bearings inspect 5 or 6 main and 4 AND 5 rods. they seem to be the worse for wear. and don't put any crap additive in the oil. good oil and filter is all you need. yo!

Hello papa listen I just drop the truck off at freight and they said it and electric issue, and they said 10 hrs to change the wire harness I said you guys are really crazy but I have to choice papa. thank you I hope that takes care the problem. I would think you would accept the fact that we like how you know your shit when it comes to these trucks and we want to bring you some business. Thanks for your interest on my business. At this moment I can't handle that amount of work but I will post my location in the future. I know I can get a lot of work but I don't like to get a lot if I can't handle it. I am a one man operation shop. I repair, buy parts, do invoice, costumer service, do videos, edit videos, response to comments, etc,... I am always busy, but I will get help in the future but I need to select the best tech to keep my reputation high.

Hi Mr Francisco! I have a problem with oil level. Now I’m fixing that fuel is going to coolant. This I checked oil level, it was on max level mark when I changed oil but today I checked and it’s higher for 7-8 mm than max level mark. I don’t see any water in oil, oil was thinner, what might be issue with it? Do you think fuel might go in the oil when injector cups o-rings destroyed? Tell me please what to check , thank you very much!

If you replaced the fuel injector cups, there could be a fuel leak from a fuel injection. My suggestion, remove the six fuel injectors again and replace the fuel injector o-rings.

Tenggo un dd13 DEL 2010, la precion del aceite se me vajo a 0 y se prendieron las Luces del check engine and stop engine y se apago el camión, en la carretera no tuve ningun problema de presion si no haste cuando pare y le volvi a prender. Lleve el camion en wincha a un taller y primero me dijeron q eran los cables de los sensors, los cambiaron y prendio todo normal sali del taller y se volvio a apagar con el mismo problema de la Presion en 0. Ahora me dice el mecanico que encontro metal en el aceite. Que tan danado puede estar el motor"? Que piezas deberia cambiar? Deberia reparar todo el motor por que puede Huber pedazos de metal en todo el motor? Gracias x su ayuda.

Deveria tratar de cambiar la bomba de aceite, los orings y el bracket de succion. Puede que eso lo ayude. Sino resuelve nada va a tener que cambiar los metales de la bancada y biela

Hola! Disculpe tengo una pregunta sobre la presion de aceite. El camion es un DD13 se reconstruyo el motor. Antes de la reconstrucion cuando corria a 60 millas por hora la presion siempre estaba arriba de 50. Y ahora que se reconstruyo el motor la presion de aceite a 60 millas marca mas omenos entre 35 a 40 . Se le Han cambiaron 2 pompas nuevas y se cambiar el que subciona el aceite. Y la presion sigue igual. Mi pregunta es que si es normal que la presion sea menos que antes que se tronara el motor

Hola Francisco, disculpa molestarte, I tried taking the wheel out to replace the abs sensor,I have 2011 cascadia with disc brakes so i looked and you pull the bolts in the front to loose the rotor but after that what do I do, cause the rotor is not going to move? no room can you please help me. Freightliner charged me 18 hours to do my engine harness I am so mad I need to do my own stuff. Thank you so much.

Hey there I have this 2010 Freightliner Cascadia with Detroit DD15, my concern is oil pressure stays a little higher than usual, it used to do 45-48ish PSI at 1350 RPM on old warmed oil but now it’s doing 52-54ish PSI even at 1300 RPM even plus it’s leaking oil from breather. I recently changed the crankcase breather. I added oil 1.5 gallons just under 20,000 miles after oil change, Since this started happening I noticed a fan sound while cruising on highway but I know it’s not the fan sound. Please let me know if you can give me an idea about what could it be or any other suggestions I would appreciate your help. Have a nice day

Hi macanic when I started my dd15 freightliner cascadia in the morning oil pressure goes all the way 60 or 70 I mean it pass 50 psi more and more and then when its worm up its go back to the under the 50 30 psi

That is normal for DD15. When temp is 220° F the minimum oil pressure should be 13 psi

Hi Francisco, I have an exhaust leak dd15 recent overhaul, the shop I’m at now says they can’t replace the v clamp between the turbo and the apt. Is he telling the truth, the shop that overhauled it will pay to fix the leak but I’m sure won’t pay for the turbo

You will need to replace the oil pump o-rings and the oil pick up module, this will fix your low oil pressure problem. Now, you say that you have oil in your coolant tank, Right?

Hello sir last week when my truck was climbing on a mountain suddenly his oil pressure is low and red oil light is on. I stopped the truck immediately and wait for fifteen minutes than oil pressure is 40psi on 70mph. After one day pressure is going to its normal i.e 55psi. I am driving last seven days with no issue. different oils shear at different temperatures sudden drop in oil pressure when the engine gets hot would suggest the oil is turned to a diesel fuel like consistency (runs like water) if u put a higher grade of oil in t6 rotella full synthetic u will notice a quieter motor and a consistent oil pressure even though the t6 will seem like a thinner type oil to look at it does not react to heat the same way as conventional or semi synthetic blends if u work out the cost difference of synthetics longer oil change interval the cost is the same plus the nice smooth quiet motor added bonus

So that means that something else is activating the fan, it could be a bad A/C pressure sensor.

It varies, some go bad at 700k + miles

i have low oil pressure and i kind seeing matel shaving into the oil when i chk with oil deep stick. what u think it could be the problem and how much would it cost to get it fix? 2010 dd15 with 600k miles on it.

You can replace the suction module and the oil pump o-rings, if this doesn't fix your problem you will need to replace the main bearing.

My oil pressure bounces back and forth, but when I check the dip stick, the dip stick is at full? I do I go by the dip stick at full or the oil gage?? Thanks

Hey got an issue with my oil pressure it will go all the way up to the max then drop all the way to 0 then back to normal my engine goes on when it does it then goes off when it goes back to normal peessure. Would you know why it's doing this?

Hola papa me quede botado hoy no lo puedo creer desde de hablar contigo mira este son los codigos Eec 61. Sp 3364 fl2, EEC 61. Sp 3364 FL 17 Eng 1 sp 2791 fl 14 Abs 11 sp 5 fl 6 Y la lus amarilla del DEF PRENDE Y APAGA PERO TENGO LAS 3 luses de full yo le cambie todos los filtros todo pero ya se vajo la fuersa me vine para la casa papa. Dios lo bendiga.

Los primeros dos dicen que la calidad de DEF es mala El 2791 / 14 dice EGR error. Es posible que la EGR sea la causa de los otros dos Possiblemente va a tener que cambiar la EGR y El harness del El motor y despues hacerle una regeneration.

I have a DD15 engine The oil pressure is good. However when I shift the pressure drops drastically but as I idle it picks up. So my oil pressure dances

I think, you should change the oil pump o-rings and the suction module. Looks like the PROBLEM is starting.

Mine does the opposite. When I shift, sometimes the oil pressure surges then quickly comes back down. I currently have code SPN 100 FMI 0. It says “oil pressure sensor problem detected service engine soon.” I have gotten this code once before but it went away. Also, when this code pops up, the oil pressure fluctuates from time to time.
