Impressive video Chris. Maybe your next video should be about how to make a video production. What camera/phone do you use? Lighting - special or just your shop lighting. Microphone etc.... How did you find out what camera angels work better? What editing app do you use? This is one of the better channels on RU-vid for a normal ordinary man/dad. I know there are lots of bloopers and it's not as easy as we think it is. What is the average time you put in making one of these 10 to 20 min. video? Is anybody else is interested in this? let Chris know.
Chris great to see that you're still thinking ahead with different products keep it up buddy 👍. Also can you imagine just how cool the shop walls would look sprayed with the total boat product ? Certainly stop any dust from settling on them plus giving the shop walls a bright shiny feeling. As always brother 💯% 👍 🇬🇧.
Hold up actually releasing a video in about 30 minutes about a change that has been made that makes them a much better product. Be on the lookout thank you
Chris, Love your story I seen about your family and how your got started. I'm 75, this will be my last year running a company I've had for 29 years and was looking for something to keep me busy, there is no sit-down in this old Marine and a wood shop seemed a natural. However, I find working with wood much different than working as a steel piping contractor. I truly enjoy your videos with your personality showing through as well as the knowledge and good ideas you share. Watching your video make me feel like I've just gotten a informative video from an old friend. Congrats.
I LOVE this idea.....having the ability to adapt the shelving is, in my mind, ingenious!!!!! Very clever, & creative! I am a tool & die maker by trade & have just recently started woodworking as a hobby. So, I watch videos on here a lot to get ideas as well as an education on what may be a better way to do things, & I gotta say your videos, in my humble opinion, are some of the best. You don't waste my time by showing me things I don't really need to see, like removing the wood from a shelf. At the same time, you don't skimp on the things I do need to see. Keep up the great, & creative work, & I will continue to watch!!!!
This is so awesome to hear you say. Thank you so much Stephen I really do work pretty diligently and making videos that I would like to see. It’s really nice to know that it comes off into the community in that way as well. Again man thank you so much and I hope you’re doing well
Excellent use of space and video footage. Not only was it informative, it was also entertaining. So glad to see the maker community supporting you and your family through this channel. You dream big and your dreams are coming true.
This is so awesome. I'm just now trying to figure out my wood storage and was toying with the idea of a cart but I like this much better. Thanks for sharing, Chris.
I’m very impressed. You are my chosen design after viewing a lot of your fellow woodworkers. One thing….. I’m older than you and grew up in a shop and was always warned about barefootin kids in wood shops. Of course I didn’t listen and dropped a chisel on my big toe. As punishment, the doctor stitched my wound without my Novocain in effect. Should’ve listened. Love your show, keep up the good works. French cleats, excellent design. Thanks
WOW!!! First-time viewer/subscriber...LOVED this video. Thank you for your passion, love for your work, and all the info you share. Keep up the great work and I am looking forward to the next one!!!
Hello and blessings Chris. I just recently found you and started watching your videos. ABSOLUTELY LOVE all your content and love your products you offer. Your such an inspiration. I also love your shop and all your equipment. Hopefully soon I'll get to experience the equipment you use. Pray God's blessings, favor, and guidance over you, your family and your business. Thank you for being YOU!!!
Thanks again Chris. I put up a temporary lumber rack to organize some of my supplies and I see the strength and advantage to your system. Great video. Take care.
Once again, you've amazed me. Very cool idea to use an existing piece you're making into something like a lumber rack. Would have never thought of that!!!
Holy frijoles! Forty sheets is a LOT of plywood. Must have taken you hours to break it all down enough to fit in those various storage areas. I foresee a woodshed in your future, Chris. Perhaps an addition to the shop just for storing bulk materials like a stack of plywood and racks of dimensional lumber.
40 sheets of plywood. FORTY sheets! I have a hard time wrapping my head around that, but you da Man!! Loved the rack for wood storage! I too, had the area of my shop that was hard to look at: wood and cut-offs everywhere. So, last Christmas my wife gave me shelving for all the wood. Fast forward to late October - my wood storage is STILL all over the place but I haven’t gotten around to putting up the racks! I won’t be picking up your system, but rest assured I’ll be shopping in your store very, very soon!
Hi Chris, I was subscribed before Stumpy nubs gave you the shout out. Then I watched your Chanel and learned about your wife’s health issues. It broke my heart. You and your family will be in my prayers. Question….. I think the marine plywood looks cool. Where did you get it?
Thank you Thomas. I appreciate it buddy. As far as the plywood. I got it from the salvage yard here called Eco Relics. It’s been long gone from them but apparently they got it from a yacht builder. Who knows
Awesome lumber rack, Chris! I think the corner squares are an awesome product. I could have really used them this week building some drawer boxes. Just ordered 2 sets! Can't wait to see how far your success will go. - Joe Porter
I just redid a whole wall in my shop so I can put french cleat shelves for lumber and other stuff. Can you link the files I need to make the shelf brackets? Also congrats at 200k!!!!
god i love your table saw sawstop is the best i wish i could justify the need for one and well afford one but id find a way even if i couldnt afford it if i was able to justify need it. lol thats why i put that first
Hahaha wish my kids visited me in the shop lol would be interesting to say the least great video man keep up the great work!.... also... 40 sheets.... holy cow... I could wall in my entire shop and then have plenty of left overs to make a years worth of projects!!! 👌
I just went and looked at it already has a hole in it are used to mount it that way. You might even pick up that hole in the video it’s on the left-hand side near the middle. Looks like I’ll be able to put a 3 inch screw into the side of this new countertop I think it’s gonna work
Ha, Chris are you going to be selling the mounts you put the table top on. I could use 2 sets. Love the work you do and the videos. What is the measure ment of the space you use for most of your french cleats on average Ty
Winner Winner Chicken Dinner! I've been watching a bunch of vids, and IMO yours is the most versatile, hands down. I just liked and subscribed. Question(s): any idea on weight limits for the double-cleat shelf brackets? If never tested to failure, do you have a limit to when your "Spidey Senses" start tingling? For example: would you stack twice as much on the bottom shelf (near end of vid)? Thanks for any help you can offer; probably only able to do a couple rows for now.
I would say at least 200 pounds. Maybe more but really most Clit feel your points are going to be the piece on the wall not being attached with enough screws not necessarily the brackets. Thank you for the kind words
Hi Chris. I really like your work. I wanted to ask you what you have on the floor. The black pads look like the pads that Tractor Supply sells. thank you.
I bought your reversible brackets. I printed one of the files provided but was not the size you have on your site. Any suggestions on how to print actual size for tracing? The printer setting for actual size doesn’t print actual size.
I need enough room to store 700-1000 bf of lumber, any suggestions? Standing. I can see your system working well to use dividers between different species with long thin dividers.
As always, great work and congratulations to your next chapter. Question, where do you purchase your plywood? The Baltic Birch looks great. I am in the Saint Johns area and I have been buying from Florida Southern plywood.
Impressive video great work with lumber storage. I do have a question how do you decide what you're going to cut your sheets of ply too? I see you have several size assortments
Love the videos Chris, keep ‘em comin’. I’m having a hard time finding Baltic Birch plywood here in San Jose. The big box stores have Birch in a 5-ply, with more voids than I see in your Baltic Birch. Question: if you have a void after cutting plywood and that void is nothing more than unsightly, how would you fill it?
Try searching for a local lumber dealer. Orange and blue stores almost never have the high quality BB. Its really not much more expensive than the "better" grade at thoae store either. At least thats my experience here. ymmv.
Hi and very clever workstation and shelving concept. Are you shipping to the UK yet, or can I download a pdf file with dimensions? Keep on keeping on, and keep producing great videos.
Just wondering.do you think that screws won’t hold and that’s why you use screws and glue.I rarely use glue when I use screws.what’s the point in using both?not criticizing just wanting to hear the reasoning behind this.I’m guessing that you are being sponsored by these glue companies and if that’s the case then go for it.
I gotta ask.. Where do you get your plywood from?! I got some of your products and its primo!!! something tells me you didn't get it from sir big box. lol
