Hey! That’s how I built my indoor rack. Only I made short spacers so I could vary the height on the “shelves” with free open holes every 10cm’s. It’s a very flexible solution, you can easily vary the depth of the outriggers too. I didn’t fasten the outriggers, once loaded, they won’t move.. Organisation makes all the difference. Thanks, nice seeing you again!

Not sure who said it, maybe the Essential Craftsman, one of the other carpenters i follow, or maybe you even, but on one of their first job, that carpenter had to saw timber to length for prep and on call. He had no good workstation and it got uncomfortable and mentioned as such to the foreman who shouted back "You got construction wood there, build it yourself!". 🤣 This reminded me a bit of that.

At my work place i had some storage organized, but we had to shrink from over 8 to 6 meters now. So I am fighting it find space for everything :(

Bulbs in the garden Hello Scott and Jess (AKA Scott Brown Carpentry) from Sydney Australia. Bulbs are an easy way to vary contrasting colours and make terrific borders, or; in larger spaces complete beds, and there are many tulip festivals that celibate with vibrant pattern blooms. The main thing is to plant in soft soil and separate after a flowering show to stop clumping. They can be stored like onions for next season. 🌷💐🌏

I'd be making some simple plywood platforms with casters for the floor level storage, makes it much easier to push and pull buckets of stuff out from under the higher storage without doing your back in. Also keeps stuff off the damp floor (concrete is always damp, no matter how dusty it looks) so it doesn't corrode or rot and you don't wear through the bottom seam of paint cans dragging them on the floor (DAMHIK). I was also a bit surprised you didn't put some sort of breathable lining between the breeze blocks and the timber storage to stop wind driven rain/spray from getting to the rack

Scott, you said something interesting about repetitive actions...do them all at the same time. So I was wondering if you would do a challenge on video. Test: There are 10 actions to perform at 10 stops around the exterior of your house. Which is faster and therefore cheaper? 1. Do one action at all stops. Repeat for each action until all are finished. 2. Do all actions at each stop. Repeat until all stops are finished. I was taught #2. But I learned that I had to have some way to carry all the supporting tools and materials for all actions...thus more tooling. If I had to drill 3 different holes, changing bits was a pain so I had 3 drills. Again more cash, but after numerous projects using that method, it paid off. Always wondered if the guy who taught me that had done an actual test. Of course we were painting house exteriors on ladders so the idea of moving two ladders with a plank one time for each location made sense. Didn't ever question it for carpentry.

Your putting all the load of your uprights through a very short grained little block and thence through a 1/2” bolt to concrete. That’s quite a cluster of fasteners for a 6” block. How about a sacrificial/replaceable treated leg block under them to frost free concrete. If the floor can frost heave then use more fasteners through a shorter leg into the concrete wall. With planning that bottom block could have been one piece to the first arm.

Here in Australia, at least in Melbourne, we only get what we call a Road Worthy Certificate (RWC) when we buy a car and transfer it into our name. If we have it for 20 years, we never have to do that again. You guys do it yearly but you barely pay any rego. We pay over $800 per year, every year for car registration. Motorbikes are way cheaper, as are caravans, but commercial vehicles are way dearer.
