@@Kokurorokuko not sure what you being 1600 has to do with anything-analyzing without an engine is valuable for beginners like yourself all the way up through magnus level because it forces you to really think about the position and form your own conclusions before verifying with the engine

What do you mean you can't benefit from it because you're 1600 haha. Dude anyone can analyse their games I'm not sure if your trying to act like being 1600 is too high rated or if you're saying you're too low rated. But I'm 1350 and always analyse my games it definitely helps. At 1600 I'd imagine there would be even more interesting things to analyse than there would be in my games and then it gets more interesting the higher rated you get. Chess like life is about learning from mistakes and that's what analysing your game does tbh

I agree that he might have phrased that badly. The point is more that black is awkwardly developed. More specifically how the queen and bishop is placed to be vulnerable to na4. Also the dark squared bishop is very locked in, and it can be very costly to lose the dsb in a french structure.

There are plenty of players at that level who knows the basic theory of their openings, myself included. There was a stream, where even a SuperGM Karjakin played against some friend who was 1900 and was outplayed in the opening, because that 1900 had some theory prepared in the Najdorf, but he completely collapsed in the middlegame when that theory ran out. To say that even a player like Danya can't be outplayed in the opening against a prepared opponent is ignorant and Danya would disagree with you as well.

You could make a playlist of all his videos based on a certain opening you find interesting
