I love everything on your table especially the pottery pitchers; simply beautiful. My mother passed away last year and I inherited her silverware. It’s heavy with a lovely flower design. It was stored in a velvet lined box and we only used it on holidays. I remember polishing it every year just before Christmas. I am now using it everyday. I see no reason for those lovely pieces to remain closed in a box. Please keep sharing your wonderful finds as you continue to discover France. ❤️🙏
I am so sorry for your loss… And yes to using our best silverware and plates and glasses every day! Life is short, I feel we should live each day in our best way and enjoy it to the fullest!
I love the tableware especially the plates. I hope to see more videos soon. I have been watching all the older ones. I love brocante shopping and thrift shops as well.
This is one of those 'love them all' videos. Our styles are so similar. Today I loved your sweater and realized it looks just like the one I'm wearing. I always look forward to your videos.
Loved all your tableware. Your tumblers the texture and color, your drinking glasses had a beautiful cut and looked elegant,, your dishes I especially liked their shape and size, your pitchers are also very nice. You have a good eye for table design. I love your song pieces in your video.
All of your videos are always so lovely and fill me with a peace, awe & inspiration that I covet. I'm in love with your beautiful transferware! Thank you for all of the loveliness you so generously share with us! ♡
I really loved this video, it represented everything I love about French vintage tableware settings. I’ve begun a small vase and jug collection over the last 3 years but haven’t begun a plates collection yet. Uh oh. I hope it’s not too addicting because I might be on the hunt.
Merci!! I am happy you say this. I wanted to improve the audio for this video but it meant I had to use another camera and I made a mistake and I had almost thrown away the footage where I talk to the camera because it was too dark. But I decided to share it anyway and do better next time. So thank you for saying this! It helps me to be less harsh on myself.
Your style is somewhat different from mine but I enjoy watching Hong you compose your table scales very much. Always amazed when I find another older video🌹
I love whiskey decanters. I use them for storing my homemade cumquat brandy or strawberry brandy , that kind of thing. Water in them at the table would be lovely too. I love smaller antique plates, portioning like that is better for us anyway. Thank you for sharing. ❤
I sell some, although I am not very active with my online brocante shop at the moment. You can find available items on Instagram @frenchvintagestyle_com
Lovely tablesetting! I realize that I have the same cups from Digion. I found them last summer at an Emmaus in France. Love the color of it, rustic but shiny. Now I know where there from. I’ve looked on their website, everything so nice!
I love the brown/gold cups and the container the candle is in. I didn’t catch the whole name of the pottery and wouldn’t know how to spell it, but it starts with a ‘G’, I believe. I really love the palette of the pottery. Your table looks so warm, inviting and beautiful!
I have used various here, but none with a G I believe? Do you mean Gien? I talked about this brand in an earlier video. The items here are by Digoin, Salins and Saint Amand. The terre de fer is by Saint Amand and Digoin Sarreguemines and the brown cups and bowl with the candle are by Digoin. Hope this helps!
Hello Marlos & Happy New Year. That was lovely 😊 I love your china, I like blue & white too, I collect Spode. I’m always on the lookout for bits & pieces in charity shops. Your table setting is so pretty, great inspiration & I like how you have combined the textures. Thank you ❤️
I LOVE this video. I love how you explain things about the objects. One suggestion - it would be great if you could spell the name of the items that are difficult for us non French-speaking people to understand. I'm specifically speaking about the Gris. I saw the spelling on the bottom of one of the pitchers. Sometimes, I like to look them up and buy the product or object online. I did see that you did spell out the name of some of the items. That was fantastic! I was already subscribed but, now I'm going to go back and watch all of your videos.
I am currently not selling any brocante but my friend Jeni from the RU-vid channel Our French Country Friends has a really nice Etsy shop and she may have some! You can find her here: www.etsy.com/shop/Jentendesigns?fbclid=PAAaYtDjhPB10nOrfvOSTPNBF32CfXw-xB2XD56MHRvcmHD1O9msQBTKXOzmY_aem_ASx0AzQO_qSbCXn67CCU5VLA-A2L78PBFZ_eTgpeEHXgA0EnnYyq-pPNaQuAJ_6rLHw&load_webview=1&bid=Ozw_6rcVUxlxXTXRK7MuZDau-r2o
By activating the subtitling, people who want to follow the Tiny House build and don't speak/understand Dutch, still can watch the videos ( ru-vid.com/show-UC3M1s_yan9EGd1GDOndTKgA ). Activate the subtitling and via the setting change the language to English (or any other language you prefer). It's a rough automated translation, but for sure you get the idea of what is explained in the videos.
Thanks for adding this again, like you did before! I just keep forgetting to mention this! We tried it out several times and honestly the translation was horrible but as you say, people will get the essence of it probably!
Beautiful, Which Part Of France Are You Based In, And Which Part Of The Netherlands Are You From, And The Netherlands Is The Only Lowland Country In The Whole World.
The yellowish color on silver is the early stage of tarnish. It will turn black eventually. All of your silver is tarnished and unappetizing. While it's safe to eat with, who wants to put that in their mouth? The table setting would look better if you hand polished the silver, and the beautiful details will show better too. Tarnished silver is equivalent to leaving spots on your crystal glasses, which is also unappetizing.
Thank you for your comment! I actually don’t use this silver to eat with, but felt this worn look matches the look of this table best. To my knowledge, when silver turns yellow it is either dirty and needs cleaning but with lower quality silver plated pieces it is the silver plating that has been polished off over time leaving you with the nickel silver that is underneath which also has this yellowish shine to it. I like both looks but use clean silver for eating. Thanks for sharing this, I realize I did not mention any of this in the video.
