I don't think you should only review albums you like. If it was like that then we'd generally get the same artists reviewed. I think it's good to review popular albums even though you won't like it.

This album is trash and I didn't expect you guys to review it. But I agree that Unforgettable was by far the best track and definitely a hit. It's all about the production for French, nothing else to his music.

Not every review you guys do should be positive. In fact I think a healthy dose of negative reviews is necessary for people to know you guys take music reviewing seriously. If all you guys dropped were positive reviews it would make it seem like you guys were just handing out participation trophies

We are living in the age of the producer where the artist doesn't necessarily have to be good or creative they just have to ride the beat and mumble along and let the vibe of the beat carry the song.

French Montana is one of the worst commercial artists to date. He is steeped in genericism, can't rap and depends on hot features.

I'm on Feefo's side tbh. I understand it's very time consuming but you should aim to review as many albums as you can. If something's trash let it be known. Feefo's the "bump in the whip" dude. He's the element the other three of you don't speak on. So it's necessary for Feefo to suggest an album I would have expected to "bump in the whip". I guess it's a different scenario if you guys aimed to only review a very limited number of albums per month and this took the slot of something that could have been more intriguing.

I agree with Feefo. There has to be some negative reviews as well as positive reviews. Fantano recently posted a video on this and I agree with whats said in that video. I appreciate it when some of you guys can say that an album is trash and let us know your thoughts.

I appreciate this review, it's dope dehh also includes main stream releases like French. The contrast of opinions makes for dope conversation even if it's just mike and Ken roasting the project. I'm a REFORMED hip hop snob/ backpacker and I've grown to like French it's all about context and there's a time for everything. Man feefo keep make suggestions like this it's important to have diversity of sound and represent all aspects of hip hop on dehh especially that bump in the whip shit

For the question about French's fan base i feel like his demographic consists of radio rap fans and people who were looking for something to fill the void Dipset left when they broke up. Though he isn't in my opinion anywhere nearly as good. Being almost consistently featured on some mainstream hip-hop artists singles also is enough to keep people interested. Ask nearly any rap fan from the New York tri-state area and they will probably be able to point you in the direction of French songs that are actually pretty good. His mixtapes are bearable at worst with projects like Coke Boys 3 being one of my personal favorites, but with a majority of the DEHH crew having the taste that they do French is just honestly not anything yall should spend energy into. He has his lane, and he provides consistently for fans of that lane.

Part of being a reviewer of anything means you are going to have experience things you don't like and then talk about them. Explain to your audience why you don't like that thing you experienced. Tt is your job as a reviewer to put out opinions that we value as your audience so that we make informed decisions on experiencing that thing. So you thought it was dog shit, and you were mad that you had to experience it, but that's your job. Get off Feefo's ass.

Based on this Review, I tried listening to one French Montana track - and I couldn't get through it, turning it off half way. So big props for listening to the whole album guys - that is a mission, a chore, a test of mental fortitude.

I feel like French Montana speaks to people who are only into hip hop on a cursory level. They just started getting into hip hop and need someone whose lyrics they can get and understand. It doesn't seem that bad because they can't compare it to much yet.

Never been a French Montana fan. BUT, he did surprise me with the project that came before this, MC4. Thought that album was fire with the exception of maybe 2 joints. Disappointed that album got shelved and this was the album that was released instead.

Unforgettable was huge because of the rollout. He made sure it was gonna be a huge international hit. Even the video was overseas and full of foreign kids. I'm not saying that was a marketing ploy but...I'm not saying it's not a marketing ploy lol. Besides that, I don't think people mess with French in general, dude only did 52000 with the biggest song in the world.

Part of the Success of Unforgettable comes from the dance challenge on instagram plus the video with the kids dancing.

15:45 The point of a french album is to make money off of the singles. The rest is mostly filler. Its really just math and proven ways to get easy sales. Labels slide these songs into spotify radio playlists and services like that (streams are sales)and "manufacture" a hit. If the song is at the top of the chart in terms of "sales" people generally stream it even more because.. well its been streamed millions of times. Its like paying for your web page to be at the top of the search results when you google something. Its just the labels recycling the same song different ways to make profit.

The worst thing about this album was the repetitive lyrics from French himself, especially on a ton of the hooks. It hurt to listen to.

You guys should try Montana of 300 last album Don't Doubt The God. I Think you guys would like it.

lemme explain French's appeal though 1. Street af- He made his first music videos off cocaine money. His earlier mixtapes are extremely raw and very New York while also being new school. He couldnt rap very well back then but the energy was real. 2. Story behind his comeup- He started as someone who didnt write his raps. Max B wrote them before he went to jail. Max B beefed with Jim Jones because of money disputes as Max was a ghostwriter for Jim and wrote hooks for Dipset in the early 2000s. Max B is the reason Jim Jones made Love and Hip Hop. And Max B's project was to make someone bigger than Jones would ever be, and that product is French. 3. Dude is chill- You know he wont back down from a fight but he makes rational decisions is sticky situations as evidenced by his early music and beefs and mixtape competition. He grinds, he tells his truth, and he has a good ear for beats and hooks. DJs play French for a reason. French is good business. Regardless if the music is trash or not. He's likeable for lots of reasons, and doesnt go outside of his role. He stays in his own lane. 4. His fanbase is mostly women. Arab women, African women, Middle Eastern, Eastern Europeans, Latinas, Americans. Idk what it is, but women very much like French. ...... Thats all I got. I rock with French to a degree. But I hate that damn Unforgettable song and I dont want nothing to do with this album. He needa go back to making street anthems.
