Lucas DiCiano Interesting point. But how do you explain the face mould?
@gkeeper555
@gkeeper555 9 лет назад
***** well you see aaron, they first had to apply the skinny face mold before they even left the house to maintain the illusion of josh being skinny. Then once they were on set they applied ANOTHER layer of prosthetic to recreate josh's true fat face. simple science really. I think Ryan should touch on this topic during the show clear any confusion anyone has.

So, so good.... Hope there's also a VFX behind the scenes as well, not just the shooting. I know your UFO is probably just in there with Element 3D, but it looks so professionally "in" the scene, I can never make my Element 3D renders integrate that well, would love to see how you did it in more detail.

Without sounding too harsh, I'd quite like to see Ryan try and do something a bit, Off type. Maybe like a Drama or Arty farty film, instead of the usual, thriller/comedy/action etc. Not saying I dislike that, but it would be a nice change of pace and quite fun too to see something like that. Anyone else agree.

Well, everyone has their identity. I don't think Ryan wants to be the best at every genre. Like I do arty modern style looking stuff (not on my channel) and I couldn't do action or sci-fi. So everyone has different strengths. That's like asking Quentin Tarantino to do a Linkin Park music video

I actually didn't know it was josh for like ever. I recognized his voice at first but then when it actually showed him I thought it was a COMPLETELY different actor. Then his voice sounded way too much like Josh and I wasn't sure if josh had voiced over the other actor for some reason, and then I saw the credits. Incredible. Freaking. Job. (Or maybe I'm just dumb xD)

Not sure if you would call this budget it looks like it would of cost a fair bit. Amazing transformation with the latex masks very cool. To make this pay you just needed product placements of pepsi/heinken can, M&m's packets surely they would give you a few dollars advertising sponsorship for that without ruining the integrity of the script.

I love your BTS's and the discussion of lighting was inspiring. I watched another film maker talk about how you *had* to use pro equipment because if you didn't you would be laughed out of even the smallest productions. Even if you did have the pro equipment, you still ended up using some of the DIY stuff, and that is inspiring.

I've been following your show for a very long time now and I really appreciate your technical abilities. But I do have a problem with many of your ideas. They come off cheap. It often seems like you don't have anything to say with your movies. I would love to see you aim higher while maintaining your technical skills. Something personal would be nice. For an artist it is essential to put one's innermost feelings out there. Otherwise your work just becomes bland. What also bothers me is that this idea was stolen from an iconic simpsons episode. I can't recall which one it was, but it is also shown in Gus van Sant's my own private idaho. Now I understand that the simpsons have been running for almost 30 years now and it might be coincidential, but come ooooon! Too iconic to rehash.
