You're so authentic I love it. You made me smile and laugh and go ooooh over the flowers. I know what you mean about the magic of white. It's pure and gorgeous.
Hi Nicole, I came across your channel not too long ago while watching one of gardenanswer video's. Now I am addicted 😂😂. I binge watch your videos now Lol. You pour your heart ❤️💜 out in these videos.. How can anyone not like them?? Love from France ❤️💜
Do you listen to the Porch and Prairie podcast on flower farming.? I HIGHLY recommend that podcast. Start from the first one and go all the way to the last. A true eyeopener for all flower farmers.
I’m starting my small market garden/farm this year and you are one of my biggest flower inspirations! Thank you for teaching as much as you do and showing how you work with kids, dogs, and chickens underfoot! Also, what is the name of those stunningly gorgeous white/purple/magenta glads? I’d love to grow some! Thanks!
I truly enjoy this blog so much. I feel you are so down to earth , friendly and funny. Yes, you should do soil solarization and than grow cover crops. I just finished solarization and soon I am starting on cover crops soon. Your flowers looks beautiful 🏵️ ! Very cute baby too and congrats on new addition to family. 🥳
I watched a lot of your videos before "the seed was planted" 🤭 in my brain to start a cutflower garden, so now I'm rewatching because I didn't pay attention to the flowers the 1st time! 😂 (I mean I paid attention to them of course, but didn't pay attention to the varieties- like the bee balm- I didn't realize that was good for cutting)
Oh how I would love some of those viburnum, crops apples, & oh especially Honeysuckle! Those are so nostalgic for me. I remember them being around my grandmas house when I was younger, before she passed & pulling out & eating the nectar. They can be invasive here in Indiana if not controlled though.
I have bopped around your channel and watched all of your videos and tried to pace myself but here we are at the last one😢 I loved the view of your property from the back of the 4 wheeler😀 now I will try to be patient for your next video. 😒😅
@@FlowerHillFarm im one of your new followers. Ive stayed up late waiting videos lol. I started watching the other day with my husband and all of a sudden he starts laughing. Says we are basically the same person and didn't think there could be another person in the world that is as weird with the accents hahah. It was a proud moment for me 😅
I`m so glad to have come across your channel. You`ve got a new subscriber ;-) Greetings from the Netherlands. p.s Flower farming is so bloody hard but I want to take that challenge on one day. Like you said, it is an experience and I also find it very healing.
The Blooms were beautiful! And that little bud....Amelia James....well...she was the best little blossom of the day! Happy that you got to enjoy her! Did anyone buy your mixed up Zucchini? I’d like to bread and fry that up if they didn’t....or maybe zucchini meatballs? Really enjoy following your videos! I look forward to each new one. Good job getting Brad on camera. He’s a man of few words but capturing him wearing your logo says it all!
I fried up that mixed up zucchini with garlic, black pepper, a few pads of butter along with olive oil. Inside was more like a yellow squash. Paired it with a regular zucchini and it was Delicious!!!
I had a dream last night that Sean got me a bouquet of your flowers and Jason Mimoa for my birthday 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣 which isn’t til January. I’m not sure which I liked more 😶😳🤣
ALSO... we postponed our wedding Bc of Covid but I think this would be amazing for my bouquet. My aunt is a florist so I could choose and purchase the flowers from you and have her arrange them 🥰😍🌹
Flower Hill Farm we’re having a real hard time planning on when. His one sister has to fly in from Vancouver and Covid making that impossible with the 14 day quarantine. Also we have elderly (his mom and my grandparents) that would be too scared to come. Ugh. Prob next summer. I def will go thru u for flowers tho!! OH andddds his brother is trying to plan his wedding for next summer also so this is a nightmare lol
You made me laugh when you said some people wanted the mis-shapen blooms it reminded me of going with my mom to a rose farm to get blooms for my sister's wedding bouquet. The farmer kept wanting to cut the perfect long stemmed blooms but she wanted ones with more personality and bent stems. It was made worse because he didn't speak English. He finally allowed her the stems she chose and was reassured (sort of) when we showed him pictures of the final product🌾
@@FlowerHillFarm awesome! I love winterberry. I'm a landscape designer. From Philly and love using that plant. I don't flower farm yet, but I plant flowers that are beneficial to our pollinators. They do love all the herbs I planted. Have you thought about using canna and using their leaves as greenery? Cannas add that tropical touch and the leaves last about a week. Especially if you get the yellow green foliage type. Also I hear that coleus make a great foliage filler and will also root in the vase for anyone who cares about that
Strange question. But I have to ask. That music you play quietly when you talk. It sounds so familiar but I cant put my thumb on it. Would you be willing to share what it is?
Hi! It's a piece of music I found while scouring the RU-vid audio library last year. It is called Fresh Fallen Snow. I fell in love with it and I don't think I can ever change it now! 🥰
@@FlowerHillFarm Its a great tune. My wife and I have been doing some research on starting a cut flower garden and your channel has been awesome. I found myself humming that tune. Keep up all the great work, your videos are great! And thank you for responding!
Approximately how many flowers should you have to open a bouquet bar for the day? I know that's kind of random but what would your suggestion be for the first time trying it?
I couldn't tell you stem count but I'm not comfortable doing a bouquet Bar with fewer than 6 buckets of flowers. Even then I will occasionally have to run out to the fields and cut more.
Can you surround your beds with things deer hate and then around that put things they like? Kinda feed them, then they hit something yucky and turn away. Just thinking
I realize this video is from LAST year, and I truly love ALL the flowers, but what I took away from this video was the part where you said your husband just mopped the floor...wait.......what?? Now I'm even more jealous and coveting what you have. just kidding. kind of. ;)
Sure! Super simple. I don't measure anything. A few pounds of potatoes (enough for a large bowl) I usually chop up 6 or 7 slices of bacon. 4 or 5 chopped hard boiled eggs, and at least a cup of thawed frozen or fresh peas. Canned are too mushy. Then add mayonaide and garlic salt to taste. The best!
Good morning! Just discovered your channel today, great content! 👍👍👍 Random question: You mentioned that deer have eaten your wildflowers, how are you planning to combat them? I am trying to start one this upcoming spring and foresee having the same problem. :-( Are those solar repellents (13:29) on green posts by your sunflowers?
What are the Honeysuckle bush things called? Because where I’m from a honeysuckle is a vine. And I’ve looked for the bush with the orange berries but idk what to look up because I just get a vine when I look it up.
They are just Honeysuckle Bushes. They are invasive here in New York- not vines at all. I know there are honeysuckle vines- these are different. My bushes can grow up to 15 feet tall here. Here is some info and pics from the New York State website nyis.info/invasive_species/honeysuckle/
@@FlowerHillFarm INTERESTING! I didn't know that there was a Honeysuckle Bush! We have the vine here in PA. What you have looks like a super filler to me!!!!
Wow how nosey are people wondering why your wedding ring isn't on!!! You would think 1. it's obvious why! 2. nonya business!!! Seriously people it's called a private life for a reason.
I post on my business Facebook Page. I do not have a sign by the road at all. Not there yet...Because it is private property MOST times, I am not ready for road signage!
