This is the Fresh Foam More Trail v3, and it’s one of the tallest, squishiest, and widest trail shoes I’ve ever run in. And while I totally understand that the shoe is literally called, The More. Is this gonna be too much?

I got mine before release day and have over 400 miles on mine….no rolled ankles….just cushion and good traction… my go to for Tahoe 200…I think people forget that not every trail runner is going out to run fast and need a shoe for that…. I go out for time on feet and extra cushion is much appreciated

Haven't seen any shoe reviewers mentioning this: The pull tab on More Trail v3 also serves the purpose of keeping laces in place. Once you tie the laces, the pull tab would be separated into 2 sections. You pull the lower section loose and tuck the laces under. Then you pull the upper section so the lower section of the pull tab tightens down and holds the laces securely. Nike Pegasus Trail 4 GTX also has this design.

The Fresh Foam More Trail V3 actually uses 2 different density of Fresh Foam! The top layer ( green color ) is the soft Fresh Foam we all love, but the white layer is a bit firmer. New Balance said they did it so that the shoe was stable on the trails
@kofuzi

it wasn't clear to me whether the road version also had the comolded foam process, so I couldn't say for sure whether that was the slight firmness difference I was feeling

This one is interesting...not my favorite for running trails, and a bit clunky on the uphills, but they're surprisingly fun (and stable) when bombing the downhills. And they come in wide sizes which actually fit my wide feet. They may become my go-to for backpacking this season.

These are some outstanding shoes. Maximum level of comfort but it misses a little on stability. I have never worn something more comfortable on trails. However, it doesn't have very good grip on harsher terrains. Salomon's Contagrip with the 5mm lugs on the Thundercross is way better. But I admit that these are just something else, 9.5/10 🤌🏼

So it's not GORE-TEX. I own regular More v4 and like it a lot, but I am guessing that lack of stability eventually becomes an issue with many of those super high stack running shoes and the current trend of "more stack" will halt at some point in the very near future. But, Ko, haven't you seen the values that BLM was based off? Destroying the nuclear family, and the founders, how corrupt they are (10 Million gone)? And then the violence they have incurred on poor neighborhoods? BLM seems to be desiring divide, and not growth for the black community. Again, I'm not a raging conservative, or mad at Ko. Just wanted to make sure you knew what you were representing on Strava. Now to Black Lives Matter? ABOSLUTELY. Just the organization as a whole is super corrupt. Two Cents spent!

I tried these, and found them to be oversized and a bit too wide vs the More v3 road shoes I have. Very comfortable, but so tall I'd be concerned about rolling my ankle. I'm going to see if I can get them in 0.5 size down. I ordered them in 11.5 just lik emy More v3, but they're noticeably larger, maybe to accomodate a super thick sock. The only thing that seems weird to me is the heel collapses pretty easily. So I guess it's good for heel strikers, but it make the shoe feel less stable to me.

Do you think this trail version will last longer? Also given my mileage is normal for a max cushion to not reach 1.500km? I'm 73 kg.
@kofuzi
@kofuzi Год назад
I think the first thing to note is that I do not consider it typical for a shoe to last 1500km, and I do not evaluate them on such a criteria. With that being said, I think there are too many permutations in my mind as to what you may or may not consider acceptable conditions of wear for what you are doing in the shoe, both in terms of running (trail shoes used for mainly road running tends not to lend itself to longevity of the treads) and what you're doing at work. So ultimately, I don't know how to answer this question for you in a way that you would find helpful.
