Noe was a stud in high school but I dont think anyone anticipated her running this fast so early into her college career. Arkansas may surprise a few folks this year.
@@baumsquad222 She was never running close to 16:09! This is a significant jump from high school for her and something you generally don’t see from true freshmen just a month into their first season if they even run under the team name at all. And blowing a runner like Thorvaldson out the back is a real statement.
@@baumsquad222 And Thorvaldson has run 15:41 on the track. So if its so easy to run track speed on this course, why only 16:44 here for Sydney? Cross country courses are not tracks. 16:09 and first place is a very fast very impressive performance for Noe or any true freshman starting their career. Theres no getting around that. College cross country coaches dont expect 18 year old freshmen to come in and lead their entire team. Especially not at a school like Arkansas. But the only Razorback on this team that has run faster than 16:09 on this course is Van Camp and shes not running right now. Im excited to see what this means for bigger meets and Nationals for Noe but don’t fool yourself into thinking this isnt in the least bit surprising.
the production teams on these races always manage to mess something up. In this one, it was the camera work. In races last year, the commentators would be retelling their favorite anecdotes about the coach or whatever while the winning move went away in front of our eyes, but not our ears.
I don’t understand why this important meet has the superstar XC TV announcers but yet it was not broadcast live anywhere that I can see . I have ESPN plus, I have Peacock, I have FloSports , - this was not broadcast anywhere. Flosports Puts weird random meets like division seven schools on where it’s a video of a tree for 5 hours.
i laugh, womens distance either CC or track a "ponytail "is mandatory. 2nd haha, what's with the women's rule you can't pass anybody the last 100-150 yds? they just stay where they are at and follow 1 step 2steps behind till finish line.
