Respect to all the ladies, but Tuohy is just on a different level. Some of the girls look exhausted and Tuohy doesn't even seem tired. Great job from Chmiel and Bush as well........
Agreed. It's nice they all race against her and all, but, statistically speaking, she's an outlier. Way outlier. No one else, we know of, is even close. It's on the rest of the team to give it everything they've got, every time, to be sure and take advantage of having number 1 and, apparently, number two sewn up. I know that was a bunch of obvious, but I'm a little excited to see such an athlete dominating all over the place. Go K.T.! Go Wolfpack!
It used to be but they removed it because many runners couldn’t finish due to heat exhaustion as it was run in the summer Olympics. It was in the “wrong season” saying it should be in the Winter Olympics but it doesn’t require ice or snow so they won’t put it into the Winter Olympics. Idk I think it’s dumb that it’s not.
Katelyn is the reason I started following these races. Just something that struck me when she was in High School as the perfect Running machine. Her mechanic running seem to be perfect! High Fives Katelyn best wishes for the rest of your college career and whatever you choose to do in Life!
NC State has a GREAT Coach, GREAT Training Program And sure knows how to NUTURE and TAKE CARE of their female distance runners. CONGRATULATIONS abs MORE POWER to You ALL Keep On Keeping On GOD BLESS.
I just love Katelyn! I stumbled on her just watching random RU-vid videos a little over a year ago. I am not even a fan of the sport. But, I was SOOOO impressed by Katelyn's drive and dedication, and especially how humble she is about her success, that I became an instant fan!!! Congrats Kayelyn!!! You have fans rooting for you that you are not even aware of.
Me too!! I have always been a Wolfpack fan but stumbled on Katelyn on youtube a few years ago and have become a huge fan!! I am so glad she is a Wolfpacker representing us so well! All the girls rock! Go Katelyn! I love you! Go Pack!
Me three-!!! I had been following Abby Steiner and Katelyn's races started popping up in my feed so I thought I'd take a look...and WOW-!!! After watching a couple of her races, I became an instant fan of this girl. Her running form looks so fluid and controlled compared to the other runners who sometimes look like they are laboring to keep up. She crosses the finish line and maybe looks a bit winded while other girls just collapse. And she's still very young. I expect the wins and accolades to continue for her...go Katlyn-!!!
I"M FROM THE OTHER SIDE OF THE GLOBE " PHILIPPINES"!! BUT I FOLLOW KATELYN TOUHY" SINCE" HER HIGH SCHOOL DAYS"!! SHE"S MY IDOL" IN MIDDLE DISTANCE" AND NOW I FOLLOW ALSO ABBY STEINER " 2 AMAZING WOMEN"! IN"TRACK"!! I HOPE THIS 2 CAN GIVE THE ETHIOPIAN AND JAMAICAN "! A GOOD RACE"!!
@@keithtinkler4073 I give her the “All heart” performance award. She was behind the #s three and four Norte Dame runners from the 3K mark all the way until the last minute when she out-gutted both of them to take fifth overall. True grit.
20:23 Tuohy looked behind and saw the gap, the aerial shot show a long gap, 20 seconds later tha gap was shorter which means she eased up in that last 500! She could have gone sub 19 in this unbelievably hilly course! Insane!
Tuohy is on a top tier running position and give her three more years for the Olympics and World Championships. My PR for 5,000 meters in H.S. was a 15:51 as a Senior in X-C , a 9:38.40 two mile track, and a 4:28.35 mile run only once. PR's for Collegiate times 1500 meters indoor 3:57.50, 5,000 meters 14:01.84, and 10,000 meters 29:33.60, Boston Marathon first one ever in 2:18:16 for 56th place in the world running for the New Balance Racing Team for two years post college. Our team placed second in the World @ Boston with Myers, Thomas, Clifford, and myself scoring the next to lowest score. Boston is a brutal course and race!! Winning time was a 2:09:26 with Seko from Japan winning, Virgin, and Rodgers 2nd and 3rd in 2:10:25, and 2:10:32!!! Wow, huh? The Wolf pack is an impressive Team winning the NCAA X-C championships. Congrats...
Katelyn is phenomenal. Hopefully she will keep improving and someday be world class, able to compete with the elites such as Sifan Hassan. It will take time, conditioning, and mental strength. We are rooting for her!
Absolutely awesome race. Soon as I seen Katelyn in the mix of the two fighting Irish runners I knew Katelyn was going to place first. Could feel it in me bones. Then to see Chmiel and Bush right there was fantastic. Good job Wolf Pack!! Well done indeed.
One can see the dedication and health this season in Katelyn Touhy. Her recovery post race took seconds. Her work in the gym sure makes her powerful on those hills. Will she win Boston a few times in the future? Congrats to the entire Wolfpack on their ACC Championship.
I remember doing 3 miles in 17 minutes and 5 seconds as a sophomore in high school xc. Not a great time but respectable, I guess. Our team won all 18 meets. Now I see the same school lost every meet. What happened to them? We had a good coach, I guess. These days I marvel at the fast times, men and women. It seems strange to me that I could, in the past, run somewhere as fast as I can ride a bike today, at 63. Been a fan of Tuohey, and that basketball girl from at U. Conn, who can do it all. Sorry, her names slips my memory.
All of these young ladies are incredible. This is probably (IMO) the hardest course. Katelyn Touhy's drive along with Camille makes it look easy but it's far from easy. Awesome job ladies. 😊❤
Are you kidding me ! “ They are such good friends that they are not competitive on the race course” get REAL ! These two women are racers and if Chmiel could bury Tuohy she would hammer the coffin shut !
Katelyn is most definitely a world class middle distance runner. I've been trying to compare Katelyn with other outstanding middle distance runners in the world and the only other person is Zola Budd (from South Africa) when Zola was Katelyn's age. They can only be described as PHENOMENAL!!!
@@Gardener7 Good 👍 for 😊 you to know that 😉. Unfortunately the Mary Dekker episode cost Zola her "Life" 😢. About 3 days ago Zola mentioned that she should never have entered that race. It is really very saddening to have such a great athlete and person making such a comment. Thank YOU for your comment.
Katelyn Tuohy, well done, I am no one, but I was very impressed by you catching back up and walking pasted into first for a fantastic win. Hope you have many more.
Kate is so 💪 and she seems grounded I think the world's her oyster and she can compete and dominate at the highest level I can't wait to see her at Olympics and World Championships.
I love this race. They worked together to take that. Also, the NC State runners always run so smart. They are patient and run people down last K. Best coach in the country.
Toughy can always do better. She is competing with herself now. Her records speak volumes for her dominance in T and F. And, she loves to do it. Great to watch a champion!
How does Katelyn rank in international terms? Comparing the times posted for for xcountry and track times she seems way behind someone like Zolo Budd of years ago, without considering African women of more recent times. Hope she continues to progress, lovely runner.
ALL that talk and the commentators basically ignored the opening up when Tuohy and Chmiel got away as a pair so that the race was over bar the details at that point - it seems to happen all the time in commentaries. Here they had plenty of time to drop the chat and actually commentate.
Hmmm. Tuohy & Chmiel took the lead at 14:02 while the commentators were talking about the teams. It wasn't necessary to drop everything and say, "Look! NC State is now 1 and 2!" at that very instant. At 14:41they acknowledged that NC State is "one, two" and started talking about their friendship. Then, one minute later, at 15:41, when the runners had legitimately opened a good lead, they acknowledge that they are "pulling away now, and this is over." I'm not sure what you are talking about. I thought that the commentary was excellent. They were very familiar with the runners and the race in general and they shared that knowledge with us generously.
Congratulations to NC State and the team title and congratulations to Katelyn on the new course record and her acheivement. Your acheivements are not going unnoticed. Jesus Christ is watching. Father God is watching and the Holy Spirit is watching and I am watching. The Duke runner that came across the line smiling is really something. Their was a runner that fell after crossing the finish line giving it her best. So amazing. She is also a true champion. I hope all of the runners be continuously be blessed by the one and only Jesus Christ and congratulations to all of the athletes who competed in this ACC championship. Wow, truly amazing.
Hats off to all the runner's great job. Fantastic job by Tuohy. I am from western PA and it always amazes me how flat these courses are. I had to laugh when the announcers called the one section a hill.
you must have been watching another race, that course was all hills. KT was fast and strong. The hills here make her the favourite for NCAA's on the 19th.
Way too good and wow of running that great 👍 👌 👏 Go team go. Amazing running good day.okay alot awards and Letter Jacket amazing award.wow Good day Katelyn, you each alot records, cool, that Good. Happy holidays & seasons..
i think i have seen this one already but it had a different beginning, i never seen the scenes with Laurie explaining how they recruited that Ketelyn into their agenda i mean. Very glad that they did to be prefectly honest with ya
