And people underestimate Fighter’s History, mostly due to how Capcom had tried to sue Data East over the game for being a ripoff of Street Fighter 2, but they got laughed out of court for it.
Capcom USA sued Data East over the original Fighter's History, not Karnov's Revenge. (Karnov's Revenge, aka Fighter's History Dynamite, being the sequel.) Capcom failed to get a preliminary injunction, as the court decided some elements were either considered unprotectable or common to the genre, while also disagreeing with the extent of character and move copying that Capcom had claimed.
They sued Data East because of Fighter's History (the prequel), not Karnov's Revenge. Also, Matt saying there werent any new characters. Yungmie and Zazie weren't in Fighter's History, only in Karnov's Revenge
I really like the concept woolie brought up about the fourth wall breaker that announces their moves as the in game functions/descriptors. It’s a nice idea I’d love to see it executed in a game in the future.
That thumbnail is the rapiest I have ever seen a man in my life. It's like he's saying "This finger right here? It's going inside you. And you ain't gonna do shit to stop it."
Mars actually has the best jump because it works like a shorthop or IAD. As far as dealing with projectiles you're supposed to use his charges. Christ I've played too much Karnov's Revenge.
no shut up though I'm a military muay thai sniper I have you know I keep my back straight and stand tall and proud with my shoulders far back like a real gentleman ready for fisticuffs
I wish you guys would start pulling up movelists. It'd take like a second and would help showing off the cast. Yungmie got robbed here because Pat couldn't figure her out. (Not his fault, her moves are weird)
I don't claim to be an expert, but I did take a couple years learning muay thai and that is NOT the stance I was taught. It's a bit of a pet peeve of mine whenever I see this stance like this, with the front leg practically in the air and his upper body leaning way back
Me: Hey Mizagochi what do you say to these Benoit loving bozos that Capcom sued Data East over the FIRST game; Fighter's History on the SNES and in the arcades, that both Zazie and Yungmie were actually NEW characters added to this game, the fact that there's a hidden character which is an Ox (though it's unplayable), failure to see Karnov's balloooon and the fact that he IS this game's final boss, failure to mention Clown's sexuality preference and just overall now beginning to SUCK! Mizagochi: They should piss off, piss off, piss off, piss off, piss off! Announcer: Mizagochi wins! Perfect!
Fighter's History Dynamite (Karnov's Revenge) is the one series where the SNES game is better than the arcade (the last one not the first). It had Mizoguchi featured as the main with his own story mode and had more moves than the arcade versions and was faster.
No new characters, Matt? There are at least 4 of them in this I think. Zazie Muhaba, for example, wasn't in the original Fighter's History. Fighter's History had 11 characters(playable or not), while this has 15. Also, you guys consider looking at a move-list for this, but not the in-game move-list for Infinite World?
I knew this day would come... especially once Saturday morning scrublords began. And finally it's here! It was hard to say whether it'd be a fisticuffs or a scrublords because I guess it's somewhere in between. It's goofy as fuck but a competent fighter for 1994. (I guess? I don't know what the fuck I'm talking about, but I've always liked this game.)
You know how Vanilla Ice claimed that he didn't steal Ice Ice baby from Queen cuz he changed like one or two notes? That's EXACTLY how this game looks and sounds for me. It's different than Street Fighter but it only feels like it's barely different.
Only one was: Makoto Mizoguchi, in KOF Regulation A. They actually mention that. The main reason is that the games are basically in legal hell, in fact Mizoguchi's appearance in KOFMI:A was thanks to a deal with G-Mode (who owned the rights to Karnov and Fighter's History alongside other series) and other companies. And a mobile crossover, Fatal Fury vs Fighter's History Dynamite.
So woolie you realize that most SNK roms can be hacked to the MVS version with the universal hacked bios right?????? Also MVS versions sometimes have extra features. Also Mizuguchi has the best voice actor ever
Judgeing by the button prompts on the emulator and mention of an Elite controller, they seem to be playing this on a commercial release/emulator, presumably one released on the Xbone (there does seem to be a version on Xbone). So they wouldn't be able to do that.
Goodvillain 101 the game before Karnov's Revenge, Fighter's History, is THE Street Fighter Knockoff that caused an infamous lawsuit that ultimately failed.
