As a newbie, I was terrified of fighting games starting out. Then I tried Skullgirls, and I had genuine fun with it. If you're wanting to try to get good at fighting games, Skullgirls has a FANTASTIC tutorial. It doesn't just show you how to do moves, but also when, where, and why. It really puts you into the mind of the expert player and narrows down every part of it bit by bit. I highly recommend this game to newcomers to fighting games.

Skullgirls is simultaneously the most charming, most fun, and least expensive fighting game ever made. It also teaches you how to play any character you want, at a high level. Buy it during the steam summer sale, while its fifty percent off, people. Or PSN, or XBLA. All of them have GGPO, to make online play amazing. (Amazingly better than other fighters.) The Best Friends Zaibatsu should submit a Skullgirls video to Machinima, it needs even more support.

I love Mortal Kombat and an Killer Instinct, but Woolie's totally right. This is the best designed fighting game outside of Japan. So many good technical choices, so incredibly varied yet perfectly balanced, and just so damn fun.
Lee Brocklebank Awesome. I was going to comment on how that grab move he has where he punches them before shooting them out of his fist reminds me of Big O and the cannon punch move he has. So many cool references in this game.
Also, if you buff his Super Horn with his taunt, guess how many hits of super armor it gets? Not 2, not 3, but FIFTEEN hits of super armor. He can break through an Argus Agony just from his super armor.
Skullgirls won Pat over, it's a Christmas miracle! Even if they weren't the best players in this episode it was great hearing the genuine enjoyment they were having. And I'm with Woolie when he said Skullgirls is the best western fighting game.

More than a year ago this was suggested to Mike Z in a Salty Cupcakes. It took this long because Lab Zero's limited resources and they had higher priorities for a lot other things.
The devs of this game are so awesome! they made up a character for fun only, I mean FUKUA wouldnt exist if wsnt for that dumb joke to capcom... they pull her out and after popular demand, they added her back into the game as permanent character. We got for free another character with her own move set (not to mention they always giv away for free every DLC character the first month)
The Demopan They probably already know, considering it was Woolie who got that into the game. One of the things you could get if you paid enough was the ability to choose one palette for a character, so I'm assuming that's what he did.

I want them to star in a completely serious movie where Matt is the Punisher and Pat is a druglord in a syndicate run by Woolie. Liam is the girl Matt gets at the end. Plague makes a cameo for 2 seconds but sadly dies of duck penis frenzy.
I thought I wouldn't have to say this in this video, but come on guys, learn the lore! This is one of the few fighting games that cares about plot, and it's awesome!
god this game is so fucking good. Definitely my favorite aesthetics for any fighting game. Each character just has so much personality in their animations and some of the attacks have such great impact.
I just want to say.... Skullgirls is really fun to watch, but when against players who really know their shit, especially when you come from games like King of Fighters and sort of Street Fighter in some aspects, this is a complete nightmare to play. I literally overflow with salt because of the combos that people can pull off from the slightest of their opponent's mistakes, and only reminds me of the nightmares of Mahvel that haunted me for weeks.
Even in high-level tourney play, I see people fishing around for combos, getting 1 hit and converting into 100% damage combo. Or happy birthday into 100% damage combo and two dead characters. Shit is ridiculous. IMO 1vs1 Skullgirls is a lot more fun.
This is hands down the best intro I've seen in... well okay like 12 hours, but I watched Plagues July superhero Month intro thing last night. STILL! Some top notch voice acting to go with great art set to good music and timed perfectly.
Oh, man, that intro was so hype. I love it when Woolie and Matt go gangsta. Also, good job on the voice work. Would totally watch some bullshit anime done by you guys.
I hope to god somehow pat sees the comment I am about to write. It is the most insanely creepy thing ever that we SEEM to enjoy the exact same shit. I played skullgirls like one and only played cerebella and I could make an entire list of "I know exactly where you are coming from" moments when watching this show with you in it. We enjoy tank characters, play shooters more than fighters, and even to the point of I LAUGH AT THE SAME TIME YOU DO. And I am also short. I feel like we may have been twins seperated at birth and the remaining juices on the table were our mother gave birth then put into a jar which formed into plague of gripes.

I would love to get into this game, but I am terrible at fighting games. I know this is going to sound selfish, but I would love for this to come to the Wii U. Not just because I own one, but because I do not want to pay for the internet to fight with other people.
I'm bad at fighting games too but i started playing this and did some tutorials and then bam, beat the game with all characters; Although the first time i fought marie it took me 10 times just to beat, got better though.
Try the PC version and a Xbone controller (suggesting it because all you need for it to work is a micro usb cable). The tutorial is amazing, and the training mode is too. I'm horrible at Street Fighter and such, but I got decent is a week of this game.
The fact that it's day time during the intro means that Matt and Woolie were up all night murdering or it was the first thing on their to do list in the morning.
Man not even picking my favorite Parasoul skins (Olivier Mira Armstrong and Poison Ivy) :( Sadly no mention of the Big O skin for Big Band. Harley Quinn, R. Mika, and Potemkin for Cerebella. So many more.
Squigly, Ms. Fortune and Peacock are my 3 favorite characters in the entire game. Squigly's the cutest and most balanced at any range, Ms. Fortune's the fastest and has the best victory animation, and finally Peacock's the funniest and is slapstick humor in human form!!
At first I thought the game was just another "cash4boobs" grab. But it turned out to exceed expectations. Ill buy it when I get more money at christmas. Just gotta make sure my mom doesn't see it. XD
Thanks a lot guys. Between you guys having fun, rewatching the Skullgirls Rap and Gaben's generosity, I just bought a Four Pack of Skullgirls. Now I'm having hot hot fast paced fighting game action with 3 of my friends. I blame you for forcing me to make such a fantastic decision and making me represent dat 'pedia.
Out of all the fighting games I've played over the years, Skullgirls is my favorite. The music, art, reference, balance roster, and just everything about it. I love Skullgirls so much. Highly recommend it!
We've been waiting for ages...and now the time is finally upon us, my friends. The Zaibatsu are playing Skullgirls! :D We can now rejoice, and take in an hour's worth of good fun and ass kicking.

Holy crap! One of the dudes who donated enough money to get their own pallets in the game said he was gonna use a variation on my Adventure Time Filia pallet, but I had no idea it made it in already! It looks awesome!
