Literally no words for you my man, you up the ante with every single upload of yours. Your videos have taught me a lot about organising and it's importance, and I've grown up to be a more responsible and organised person. This not only helps me be on top of my game, but also my mom, who is happy when I help her with chores. You're a teacher Rick, it would be really kind of you to make us some tutorials too. I find it quite refreshing that your channel isn't quite busy and you don't have to churn out videos like movie tickets. Your passion comes through each video of yours.
Prashant lunawat Wow man. Your comment is inspirational. I think because I teach all day, I just like doing my thing in my garage. I’m glad my approach strikes a chord with you. Say Hi to moms for me! 👋
I love that you added what cleaning product you used! I use to rewind the video an pause to see what you were using! Please keep that in your videos; it’s incredibly helpful! I sat and watched this with a big glass of Pinot Noir! So relaxing and mesmerizing!
I'm glad those titles helped. I found a way to make custom titles using Keynote. I will be playing around with those from now on so you won't have to be pausing all the time! I am glad you find my videos relaxing. I wi admit to using them as a sleep aide on those restless nights!
@@RADGarage It was a great video Rick. Finally got to watch it. I can't improve on the comments already posted. I do like you showing us which product you are using. I didn't realize Adam's had a great leather cleaning combo so I recently bought some lexol which is stuff I used all my life on all leather goods...very old school. But I would get the product you used next time. The Concours was awesome. And, to be snobbish to all my neighbors and friends who only go on the free days...you haven't really been to the Amelia Concours if you haven't bought a ticket for the final day when the show really ends. Speechless almost. Very tired after last week...I averaged over 10k steps a day last week...high of 14k one day. My average is about 5k. So, I got some walking in. Thanks again and hope the car show was awesome! Notice that you have 10k views...twice the subs!!
While hosting a Coffee and Cars event here in Houston Texas a guy in a SQ5 showed up. New friend with a gorgeous Nardo grey and wide body set up with wheels and exhaust. I told him how nice it looked and how it reminded me of a friend of mine named Rick from Canada. He immediately said; 'You mean RAD Garage, I love him'. LOL. You're the real deal brother. Always wishing you the very best. Your online friend, admirer, fellow Audi owner and hockey fan - Gil
Hey Mate This is not just my favourite video of yours but my favourite detailing video so far I love the no talking The relaxing music How you show the products you’re using I’m glad I’ve found your channel This video in my opinion is perfect Cheers from Australia
Thanks Mark. I had a good time with this project. I think it captures the way detailing and my life co-exist. I try to put a bit of a different spin on each video, so hopefully you enjoy the rest of my stuff as much.
@@elfinsteen I hope my detailing videos help you with your recovery! Can I ask you how you came up this channel? I'm becoming somewhat obsessed with how the whole RU-vid algorithm works. This is a bit of an older video that receives very few views so any insight you could share would be greatly appreciated. Did it pop up in the sidebar? What videos were you watching prior? Any info you could provide wold be helpful. As much as I like the idea of attracting more views, I do find the number of negative/troll comments increases so it's a bit of a double-edged sword!
RAD GARAGE a few months back a detailing video come up on my feed and I really enjoyed it and started watching more About a week ago I opened RU-vid on my TV and one of your videos came up I watched a few of yours before I got to this one I commented on Actually the first one I saw was when you made comment on being the second favourite channel behind the detail geek , I had just watched one of his videos , then your video came up as next up, don’t know if the mat had anything to do with you videos showing up in my news feed , love the set up in you garage too , I think you will very quickly become one of the big detailing channels
I hope people understand my "second favorite channel behind the Detail Geek" was my attempt at a joke! One commenter said they could name at least 10 channels with higher views! LOL. Thanks for the feedback. I'm very happy with the way my channel has grown. I'm most impressed with the level of support I get from viewers. It has developed into a really neat community imo.
There is nothing like waking up here in the UK on a Sunday morning to find a notification about a new video. Sunday morning, snuggled under the duvet, cup of tea, and watching the latest RAD video. No words again, just awesome!!! 😍Oh, I’ve just yesterday placed an order for the Adams Tyre & Wheel cleaner. Not used it before, but seeing the great results here, had to give it a try x
Nadine Osborne I’m glad my work continues to give you the warm fuzzies! You’ll enjoy working with the Wheel & Tire (Tyre) Cleaner. Or, I’ll give you your money back! Have a great week, Nadine.
Absolutely loved this one. One-half hour of exceptional cinematography. The music and the sound effects (the keystroke clicks come to mind) remind me of the Harrison Ford movie "Blade Runner". What is so impressive is when you're cleaning a part of the interior the camera (on its own) zooms in slowly to make the shot even more interesting. I like how you displayed each of the Adam products so we can see exactly what you're doing in the next clip. Rick you're Audi looks like a brand new vehicle, hot off the showroom floor, every time you detail her. You do such quality work. Another amazing video Rick...well done !!! (Mike in Ohio)
Thanks Mike. As we have discussed in the past, the process of returning it to showroom condition is cathartic and it helps me feel like I have a sense of control in a topsy turvy world! I will continue to experiment with video titles. I have a new process but need to dial in the design elements now.
Rick, as mentioned in another comment, it would be nice to have a tutorial like video (or a few) from you. You are such a thorough guy, and it shows in your passion for detailing cars. Also, just another idea, maybe a vlog-ish type of video would break things up a bit. Maybe bring us along to a cars and coffee meet if you happen to go sometime. I know there are quite a few nice cars in YYC 😊
Rick M. Great suggestions. I want to expand my content in the worst way. At the moment, the only “free time” I’m able to find is spent on my garage but come Spring/Summer I’ll be upping my game.
I can’t believe I just watched that video. And it was really good. And I was interested enough to watch till the end. I clean my cars the same way, with the same care and attention, and until I saw this, didn’t realize that others did too. Great video - thanks.
Sebastian König Thanks Sebastian! Capturing the art and beauty of detailing is something I’m always trying to achieve so I am glad you appreciate my approach. There’s lots of “how to” videos out there so I do bring something a bit different.
You’re a smart man to stick with one brand. I have bought quite a few different ones over the last few years. My go to drying aid right now is Bead Maker
Rick, you are one incredible, man, detailer and photographer my friend! I look forward everyday to watch your amazing work on a beautiful car! Thanks for doing what you do, you definitely inspire me everyday to be the detailer you are! Keep up the incredible work you do👍 Kyle
Ha. Yes, I love that Mosmatic trigger and wand. I've had them for almost two years now but they don't often find their way into my videos. It's hard to conduct filming during that stage as water is obviously been blown all over the garage!
this is my favorite video of yours since the blue R8 that got me hooked in the first place. I'll agree with what a lot of people are saying below, the product call-outs are a really nice touch, the production value even on those bits is excellent. Thanks again, Rick, you make lunchtime mo better!
Best video yet! And to agree with others, love the labeling of what products you use with each step. Thank you for including links in your description to all the products!
Thanks Tim. I value the feedback of viewers and I'm always trying to activate their advice when and if I can. I am quite proud of this project. I'm already looking forward to my next project. It might be on a car other than my own if things work out.
Just FYI...I’m like Mr Sparkle...but no long-term damage, Will have wait until after the Amelia Concours to really enjoy it! If you like Porsche’s this the place to see them this week...they’re everywhere...they’re everywhere! Really awesome!
Another beautiful video. And, as I have mensioned before, the winter washes are so satisfying. My old Saab is sitting in the garage after a good wash yesterday morning. I went out and applied some gloss last night too. I know the car will be dirty in the snowy slush coming week but it does not matter. I love the process and the result. Also to be able to have the cleanest car around when most people drive around in cars tgat has not been washed all winter. Your work with the car and the videos are nothing short of fantastic.
@@RADGarage A Saab 9-5 estate from 2002. It is just in recent years they have started to treat our roads with salt. Therefore you can still find old cars with very little rust. Mine is one of them. Far, far from perfect but in ok shape concidering the age and miles.
It’s almost been 10 years since our house was built and the garage has been in a constant state of improvement since that day. I still look for ways to improve it and I have two major projects in the works that will make detailing even more rewarding so stay tuned!
I love washing in the sun but also at night! In night time it feels more like it is just me and the car and kind of relaxing to me. Hope thats normal ;)
Thanks man. I put my heart and soul into each project. I just can't post stuff that doesn't have an artistic flare to it. Thanks for appreciating that.
I love it, snowing outside and you're in shorts 😂 My wife is from Lethbridge, just South of you. Great video, you sure know how to hit those cinematic shots!
Salivate. Mirror finish. Just beautiful. I'm amazed that you don't have creases on your driver side seat bolster. I've been trying to clean it up with Sonax Leather Foam. It's done some good but still very visible on my SQ5.
I have a method of entering/exiting that looks awkward to onlookers, but helps preserve the lower side bolsters! I wouldn't let it stress you too much. Leather is going to crease.
Logan Benns Thanks. I invested a decent amount of time into this one so I’m glad it’s getting positive feedback. Be sure to check out the rest of my vids.
Just subscribed to your channel and I have to say one word and that is impressive. by far the most awesome garage I ever seen. the content of this channel and editing skills are really good. This channel will grow fast I guess. Keep up the good work 👍
Mr Wang Thanks for the compliment and encouragement. I don’t think my approach has the wide appeal within the detailing genre that some other channels have, but I aim to produce the style of videos that I personally enjoy watching. It’s great there’s a few people out there that dig my style. .
Thanks for the kind words. I have been enjoying playing around with the titles and cut scenes. Not sure I love the typewriter sounds though. Working on a "Stress Relief" video project right now.
Im a bit miffed as RU-vid did not send me a notification for this nor did it post on my feed until 28 minutes after you nearly finished the wash process. What the french toast youtube
Mr Sparkle Could be my bad. Original upload got a copyright claim so I madly uploaded a new version. May have messed you up! That’s the first time I participated in my own premiere. So much fun!
Absolutely love everything about this video, the garage, the sq5, even down to the Nokian tyres, also the music. Just about to buy a q5 in the Calgary area a '16 I hope I can find someone who took care of it like you!
Always great to connect with fellow Calgarians. Good luck in your Q5 hunt. I find used cars in Calgary to be a tricky world to navigate, but there's always a diamond in the rough if you take your time to find it.
Hi rick. I'm also an ice hockey fan. My team is ERC Ingolstadt from the 1st German Ice Hockey League. I can still remember the 2004 Salary Cap. Some NHL stars played in Ingolstadt. Marco Sturm, Andy Mc Donald, Jamie Langenbrunner. Oh my God. And I'm a fan of the Oilers 🙈... Sorry. Many greetings from Ingolstadt.
A German Oilers fan?!? How is that even possible? LOL Thanks for reaching out. I remember all of those hockey players. Jamie Langenbrunner was one of my all-time favorite NHL'ers.
I have enjoyed being a part of the "Battle of Alberta" going way back to the early 80's! Probably the best rivalry in North American sports if you ask me!
The only thing I have are the three decals for the wash buckets. I got the buckets and dollies through the Adamspolishes.com website years ago. Hit me up if you are interested in the decals, though. Thanks for watching!
Rick, Do you have any plans for a new SQ5 wash? I need my RAD fix so watching old videos.. I’m currently obsessing over the SQ5 and hoping to get one in the next couple years. Some driving shots on the next video would be amazing! Thanks and i hope you have a lovely weekend!
I am really hoping I can do a winter wash video over my holidays. It is in dire need of a wash inside and out. The SQ5 is an amazing vehicle. I have considered taking a look at the new SQ5 but need it to be a bit more updated to justify the move. Take care!
Has the CarPro Wash Mitt been your Mitt of choice for awhile? Wondering about how you maintain it as it always appears in superb shape in your videos.. Thanks.
Love the attention to detail you give in all your washes. I am not sure if you're sponsored by Adam's or not but I'd love to see some videos of you using some Wowo's products from The Rag Company.
rsxfreak79 I am not sponsored but I am hoping that happens at some point. I use their products almost exclusively and I enjoy using each and every one. I don’t have any immediate plans to expand my product Arsenal at the moment however I recognize the fact that there are many quality products from many reputable brands out there.
I think I need to be more consistent with the content. Until then, I'm just gonna do what I do and let the chips fall where they may. I do appreciate comments like this though. Thanks.
I think it's going to take off soon. I just bought a 1991 Corvette ZR-1 with a dirty tan leather interior. Not sure if detailing that would have any production value, but you're welcome to use the car anytime you want once I get it to Calgary later in April, if you have a video idea for it. You can also do a burnout.
@@RADGarage Yes - it is in storage in Montana. I went there March 7 to put in storage hoping to return in April. Now it's stuck there until travel is allowed.
What hose spray nozzle do you use? Tired of the cheap Home Depot/Lowes crap. Love your videos! So relaxing to watch and the music is awesome. Keep them coming.
Charles Saito Thanks man. I need relaxing videos to watch in light of all the drama these days. That is actually a generic garden hose nozzle I picked up at Canadian Tire. It’s by a company called Yardworks and it is pretty awesome.
Wow, so nice, and so relaxing. Thank you, Rick! Quick question, as someone new to your channel - it looks like you're all-in (or at least you were when this video was made) on Adam's Polishes products. Is that correct?
The team at Adam’s has been a super supporter of me and my detailing passion. I have an extensive collection of their products and appreciate how great they have been to me over the years.
@@RADGarage Thanks, Rick. I'm 52 years old, but new to detailing. I bought a new car (2021 Mazda 6 Carbon Edition) and decided it was time to take better care of my vehicle. I discovered in the process that I LOVE detailing! My biggest challenge, though, has been figuring out what products to use. I'll watch a RU-vid review, see a new product that looks good, and order that. I literally have several shelves FULL of products now, and my wife isn't too happy about that 😊 Sometimes I think it would be simpler just to find a good product line and stick to it. But I always have the itch to try something new. Hopefully I can find some balance soon...
I totally know where you are coming from. Having the uniformity of a single line is something that has always appealed to me. But, over time, I have had the opportunity to connect with many high quality companies so now I am back to having cabinets that are jam packed with products.
You really delivered again in this one Rick excellent job. Are you using Adams products exclusively now? I always liked to see you using Jay lenos products
Kai -291 I used all Adam’s products on this one. I have a few non-Adam’s products kicking around, but I just love my Adam’s. The website is great and my local detailing supplies company always has a great stock of it. Win. Win.
Excellent Video, beautiful car and garage. Question...Wouldn't applying ceramic boost on top of detail spray negate it's bonding affect? Are you using it exclusively for shine/gloss? Not sure if it would provide any real "protection" if your applying it on top of detail spray....
I used Detail Spray only on the areas that weren't accessible with my wash mitt. Door jambs mostly. I used Ceramic Boost for all exterior surfaces. Thanks for the question and the compliments!
As always, really enjoy watching your detailing videos and thank you for listing all of your products in the description! For the interior detailing brush that you used, does it shed bristles when using?
No, that brush hasn't shed a single fibre since I have used it. Not saying it isn't possible but it has been solid for me. I hate brushes that lose bristles. Really irritates me so I know what you mean.
Unreal how clean your vehicle is. How long have you guys had it? How often do you clean it? I have an A7 and will start using Adams. Currently I use chemical guys products but Adams is insanely good with elbow grease. Do you apply rain x after cleaning the windshield. New sub here. It’s so relaxing watching you work. Head lamp is brilliant. It’s the simple things man. Good job
Thanks man. Yes, the simple things make it all the more fun and rewarding. I do have bucket labels for sale through my website, but the link is kind of hidden since my stock of merchandise is so depleted. I don't sell the actual buckets though, just the labels. If you go to my blog (www.radgarage.ca/blog.html) and click the RAD GARAGE Adam's-themed logo on the top right of the screen, you will be directed to my secret "march" page. Glad to have you as a new sub!
After the contact wash, all that is really necessary is to get the soap off the car and that is achieved most effectively with a quick "soft" rinse. The pressurized rinse I do after the foaming stage gets the soap into all the tight crevices and gaps, so no sense in wearing out the pressure washer when it really isn't necessary. Thanks for the question.
Sooo, and now..? My car! :D But there is a "little" problem. My car is here with me.. in Germany. (But as I said, just a small problem) Kappa Either I come to you with my car, or you come to me with you're equipment. :D :P Unfortunately, my equipment is nowhere near as good as yours. ^^ That was a very nice video! Greetings from the other side of the world! :D
@@RADGarage Hey, sorry for the late reply. I have a small car It's my first car, I bought this when I was 18 years old. It's a Renault Twingo 3 from 2015 with a huge 1l engine and 71hp. :D :D Buuuuuut .. I love the car and that's the most important thing. :D I suspect that renault doesn't tell you anything, right? What was your first car?
That brush is called a super soft detailing brush and it is branded by all kinds of companies. Mine is a "no name". Adam's has one on their website. The flat-bottom wheel wasn't available in Canada since all Canadian SQ5's are spec'd with the heated wheel which is round. I wish I had a heated flat-bottom but they don't make them afaik.
