Wow, thanks! My approach to detailing videos has evolved over many years and I continue to find ways to bring the beauty of the process to life in satisfying ways. I am glad to hear you enjoyed this one. My more recent videos do an even better job of showcasing the beauty and captivating nature of the detailing process. I hope you will take time to check them out.
Rick, you are the BEST brother in law in North America. I was so hoping you would end the video with your sister in law's reaction...and you nailed it brother !!! The look on her face is priceless. Your brother looked pretty impressed too. How you made those "old" dingy, yucky carpets look brand new again is quite a feat. The level of detail in and around the whole car...when you said it is cleaner than it was when it was brand new...that is no exaggeration. The car looks like a 2021 Audi. Your niece is a cutie and I think this was one of your best videos...well done, my friend. (Mike in Ohio)
Thanks Mike. I really appreciate that. The family was very blown away and the car did look immaculate. It's amazing what I can accomplish when I have the time. But, that time is dwindling as our school will reopening soon.
@@RADGarage The summer has certainly flown by. As you've seen on the news most US schools (the biggies..NY, LA, Chicago, etc) are all returning to normal in person classroom sessions. Some smaller schools, here and there, are still virtual homebased because of Covid. How is your school going to open? Please stay safe and I hope you, your family and all your kids at school stay safe during this difficult time. A vaccine can't come soon enough.
We are going back to school as normal which leaves us all a bit nervous. The government has been facing some backlash over this decision, but there's not much a teacher can do except do their job and stay as safe as possible. Not the same fun beginning to a new school year that I have grown accustomed to over my 23 years of teaching. Thanks for your well wishes!
Thank you very much! I am so happy that you enjoy the music. I have spent a lot of time connecting with various artists and have now forged relationships with twenty-or-so producers who watch and enjoy my videos as well!
Man, I don't what they feed you detailers up in Canada... this is top notch stuff. Consistently some of the best presentation and "cinematography" of any detail channel on RU-vid.
It is always season for christmas towels. Now with real snow foam :) White cars are just so satisfying. And I think you get the chance to learn a bit from cleaning and decon them. You see what chemicals and method works good. Then you can transfer that to your process. That DKW came out fantastic and really popped! Stunning work and beautiful vid. We are being spoiled.
Beautifully done as always. I was thinking it and you said it - that car is cleaner than the day she bought it! Love the reveal and he fact that it was a surprise.
This car detail reminds me of that slightly wounded bird you bring home, then nurse it back to life, then on the reveal/finale you set her free! 😂 great job on this one. Looks wonderful!
Your work is on the top tier of detailing craftsmanship. The video production is superb and is up there with the best. It is always a pleasure to watch and great inspiration for many I’m sure. 👍
@@RADGarage mmm yes i know the feeling I gave my mothers white 1 series BMW the absolute works and coated it with kamikaze Zipang and all I got was "yea it looks nice' haha spent like 30 hours on it too. Lol
Prestige Detailing Studio Haha. It’s not that they are ungrateful, they just aren’t aware of all the steps in the process. That said, the fact they can sit back and watch the video probably puts it into greater perspective. I spent over two hours on the driver’s side floor!
Welcome to the four rings crew ! Once again you did the job RIck ! Q3 obviously needed someone to take care of and you were the right guy ! Reveal was funny since suprise was that big. Big work done and awesome result as always. Take care ;-) Gregg
Awesome job as always. Surprise detail jobs always hit different, it feels so good to give. You should take after shots outside in front of your garage door! Would look cool in my opinion.
So many rocks! and those salt stains look very familiar! lol what a pain!! thanks for sharing the process Rick, really enjoyed this one! thanks for always putting out 10/10 videos!
Very cool of you to surprise her like that! I surprised my dad with a normal wash ( no full detail, yet ;), and I am planning to do the same for my mother-in-law.
Found this dudes channel day ago and shared already on all social media me and my wife use. It feels like a DJ cleaning my favorite car (Audi in general). Hope it helps you out a bit in term of views! More Audi videos please :D!
Yeah, so much gravel gets tracked in on the bottom of our snowy footwear during the winter. The salt in the snow stains the carpets and the gravel gets ground into the carpet fibers. It tough to the floor of a car up here in the winter. Thanks for stopping by to see the car get some love!
My friend, what an amazing job you did on the Q! The attention to detail is outstanding buddy!. You are the best family member anyone could ask for, thanks for always making your videos awesome to watch👍👍 ready for more!!!
Your detailing skills are amazing. But your video composition and editing skills take it to another level! I find myself wondering how you got a certain shot, or what made you think to capture a segment from that angle, but every time I am impressed with your thought, edit, and final product. There was a segment where you had slowmo of the bubbles on the turn signal flowing in reverse which was an amazing segment. Keep these videos coming, you have a HUGE fan in me.
Thanks for the supportive feedback Andy. I don't know when a shot is going to pay off until I download the footage and start playing around with it. Sometimes I get a hit, but there are many misses as well. I am always trying to find new techniques and that challenge is still fun for me. Take care.
Impressive work brother!! Thank you for always including the time it took for the detail. Keep up the good work and I look forward to the next video!!!!
Hi Rick hyoung! You uploaded another great video. The video shows you really elaborate detail. I look forward to the next video. Rick hyoung's channel, success!!
Another great job. Your attention to detail is above & beyond. I usually use Meguiars & Auto Finesse products here in the U.K. So I thought I would give Adam’s products a go next. Keep up the great work 👍
I'm hardly the best but I appreciate the compliment. I teach for a living so detailing isn't about instructing others, it's about enjoying the process and sharing my passion with others.
Great video. FYI, the Bissell dirty water tank lid comes off if you rotate the black handle a little more. It will help you drain it without spilling all over the place. I recently got one last week and I love it.
I feel like such a noob. A few people have reached out to let me in on the secret. I was wondering why it was such a convoluted process to empty the dirty water container.
RΔD GΔRΔGE haha don’t feel like a noob. my lid fell off, I thought I broke it 😂 you still did an insanely good job, I mean look how dirty the water was 👍🏻
It took me about 10 minutes, but I figured it out! I didn't know the handle could bend all the way backwards so I was getting frustrated. All better now! Phew.
Another awesome job! This is by far my favorite channel! Best of luck to you as you start your new school year. You will definitely be in my thoughts and prayers during these challenging times.
Thank you so much! It's amazing how generous my viewers have been with their well wishes. It's going to be a challenging year for sure. Thanks for the support.
My Flames are doing everything they can to keep my spirits up as we enter what promises to be a challenging school year! Thanks for the comment. It means a ton.
Love the video and love that suv! One thing though, do you think it would make it a little easier and quicker if you used a vacuum with a turbine brush for the first pass to get as much of those crumbles and dirt picked and broken up. I know you do the brush afterwards and do a manual scrub with the detergent but I also saw you with the shop vac scraping those salt trails; I have done that before too and I can’t stand it! Lol
Oh man, when carpets get this bad, I try all kinds of crazy things. I do NOT have a one-way approach when it comes to working on salty carpets. I have done it all.
We had Audi for years in my family. They held up great. My mom had a allroad that got just basic cleaning. Maybe a vacuum once a year. When she moved onto another vehicle I cleaned up that old allroad. Was surprised how well it cleaned up after years of neglecting it
Quality materials can take a beating and bounce back. That's what I have found with pretty much every Audi I have had the pleasure of working with. Thanks for the comment!
Service experiences can have a huge impact on a person's impression of a brand. I will NEVER drive a BMW after the sales staff at a local BMW dealership ignored me and acted like they were too good to speak to me. The receptionist made three announcements for a sales representative to help me and the four sales people just ignored it and continued to chat with each other in one of the cubicles.
I noticed your used the autofiber applicators! How do you like them as opposed to the traditional suede cloth + applicator block? :D and as usual, immaculate work. Your sis in law must've been stoked!
This was the first time working with one. It was given to me by a detailing friend who does a lot of coating projects and he swears by it. It did help me cover more ground, but I'm not completely sold. I feel like it uses up more product than a suede applicator. But, what do I know?
I really enjoy your videos Rick. A couple of observations. First, of all the things the Canadian winters deal out, I hate the salt most of all. I know it can’t be avoided, but still a pain nonetheless. Second, the iron fallout! Wow. That was insane. CarPro Iron-X is my go to as well. And the polishing was great. I am an enthusiast but I think you are a few levels above me. First rate.
waynefromcanada Yeah, the salt is ridiculous. These carpets came out 99% after almost three hours of work! The Iron fallout was bad and it took a lot of work to get it out of the crappy PPF on this car. Thanks as always for watching and commenting, Wayne. It is greatly appreciated!
You could compare that particular applicator to the "hex applicators" sold by Adam's Polishes. I am not certain if this is an actual Adam's applicant or one that is just similar. They are pretty easy to find at any detailing store/site. Here's a link: carzilla.ca/products/adams-hex-grip-applicator?ref=RADGARAGE
Thank you so much. I hope things turn around for the better very soon for Brazil. I've been watching in the news how your country is facing a number of challenges. Take care and thanks for taking time to visit my humble channel when you have so much to deal with. 🙏
Where does the water run off inside your garage? does water get trapped in the groves and get all gunky? Love your garage set up and vids btw, super high quality!
I can assure you there is never anything gunky in my garage! The water simply flows under the Swisstrax floor out of the garage. I'm very fortunate to have a perfectly pitched garage floor. I will be installing a catch basin at some point this Fall to collect the water, but for now it just flows out of the garage.
I watched and commented second 😄 That's the best detailing job, when it is done for family members and as a surprise. When I started, it was because of a neighbor who referenced me to a lot of his friends who were different type of professionals like construction workers, engineers, lawyers, CPAs, company owners and workers, doctors, etc. All because we shared a passion for keeping our vehicles very clean and shiny. He had a heart attack so I took over detailing his 3 vehicles and even did his yard for free because he normally did it, so he didn't have to worry about those things. He asked me why I didn't do it as a business since he saw I had the technical skill. I just did it for fun and enjoyment just like I did since 13 when did it with my dad and my granfather from my mother's side during weekends(also apparently some OCD 😉😄) because I have a regular job as a Senior Programmer Analyst. My grandfather from my dad's side never had a car. I also washed the car of my godparents who lived in front of our house and afterwards we enjoyed going to their pool. Always detailing and listening to music like you makes me relax and have good memories with family and extended family. Xoxo from Puerto Rico 👍🇵🇷
Humberto Roche Garcia Glad we have so much in common. It’s nice to do things to help others out and it makes it even more special to know how much they appreciate your efforts!
@@RADGarage And they got it right, yours is way, way, way absolutely better than any other place. Your niece is too cool and has a pose like a reporter.
Much love to you all in Norway! One of my favorite musicians I feature in my videos is from Trondheim. (Ambient Light) Seems like a wonderful country. All the best.
Rick...you’ve spoiled me with the product notes in your vids...hehe. I missed them here. Which polish did you go with? How are you liking ceracote? Man. That’s gonna quite the happy camper when she sees this beauty.
Hey Frankie. When you say, "I missed them here", do you mean the product list didn't show up for you? I used Adam's One-Step Polish: Adam's One Step Polish carzilla.ca/products/adams-8oz-one-step-polish-8oz?_pos=1&_sid=0c3def269&_ss=r&ref=RADGARAGE Cerakote is interesting. I am still trying to figure out how to apply it perfectly evenly and I'm not sure how it ages. I am only going to use it on cars that I have easy access to in case it doesn't live up to expectations. It goes on really "wet" and doesn't always self-level as evenly as I would like. But, unlike most other trim coatings that claim they will restore the deep dark colour, this one actually lives up to that claim. I am proceeding with caution however.
RΔD GΔRΔGE Rick...I mean the text call-outs within the vid. That’s great feedback on cerakote...my wife’s traverse is littered in trim and I wanted to find something user friendly yet effective. Have you tried C5? Or Gyeon Trim? Your thoughts or comparisons to Cerakote??
Yeah, I have tried both of those trim coatings, and they aren't as immediate and WOW! as the Cerakote, but like I was saying, I don't have a lot of history with Cerakote so I don't know if any potential issues lie ahead. I'll be closely monitoring my sister's Q3 to see how that coating ages.
