great job, Megan! I love all your makes! I can't see your knees but a ruffle would be cool, too! High/low skirts really look awesome. I gotta have that sporty skirt, though. I like sportier stuff (and sorry, I like sports! I go to games with a girlfriend. Our hubbies don't like sports. Ha!) I am starting a project with my sons friend who got married in February. We are making her a wedding quilt together. I have not sewn anything of note since my moms passing in December so thought this is a sweet, long project we can enjoy doing together. Sew jo has been gone and that's ok. This will be a sweet, hope-filled project for someone just beginning her adult, married life so it makes me feel hopeful, too. Focus on new, happy times~

The March Top by Helens closet is very similar to your RTW shirt. If you get on her mailing list I think you can get a coupon code for a discount on your first purchase if you haven’t purchased from her before. Her patterns have the best instructions I’ve ever worked with! I think she has lots of blog posts on ways to modify it to different looks including how adjust the armhole to make it sleeveless. I just finished cutting out the new pattern emporium tee. Love it!

you look stunning in that skirt and your knees are good to go lol, scratch that you look stunning in all 3 of your makes. perhaps it is your impending spring but you are glowing. I have the PE patterns already cut out and ready to sew up. great job, don't be so hard on yourself you look great.

I would add a jersey black skirt as an underskirt, just sew it on to the waistband of the skirt.

Patten emporium is a recent discovery for me and I love their patterns. That skirt is a dupe of an overpriced Lululemon skirt I have that has never fit me properly. Going to make a ton of these. I've been binging your videos from the beginning and I'm finally caught up! Yay!

I am in agreement with sweatpants. I bought the skirt pattern for a casual look out of the house. I don’t like my knees either, but that skirt looked so good on you. It will look so cute with the flouncey ruffles too.

I found you when I was looking for videos on the Audrey Top. I’ve done a lot of home decor sewing, quilt piecing, and whipping up clothing for my grandchildren. It’s time to sew for myself, I think. I’m tall and plus size and fitting this body is really hard in the stores, because the length is often not there in readymade. I’m Canadian as well, and I really appreciate learning about more fabric sources here. My Janome Coverpro is on its way to me, so I’m excited to get started. I’ve been bookmarking patterns like crazy. Thanks for the great videos.

I love watching your videos. You have such a calming presence (even though life might feel differently). Your makes look great on you! The black and white high low skirt is STUNNING on you. It perfectly shows off your figure and makes you look like a movie star. I have the same feeling about dolman sleeves, but the tee looks fabulous on you! I will check out the fabric you mentioned for the tshirts. I've been looking for that kind of fabric. I've found tri-blends, but not in a color I'm looking for. I'll check out fabric snob. I love the first skirt on you best and think it’s flattering. I don’t think it’s too short on you but a bit of flounce will solve the issue for sure.

To get a T-shirt that fit’s like you have expressed is really like gold . I have the pattern and looking to make it this week hopefully it will be the same for me.

Really like the way the Ath/leisure skirt looks on you. Neat design feature using the cover stitch on the wrong side so it shows on right side of fabric. I’ve used that and I was happy with the different look.

Your mighty have heard this by now, but Love Notions Presto Tunica has an inset yoke/bib that could be a good option for your blouse. Enjoy your sewcation! Sounds like a great birthday!

I so agree about the dolman tops being a pear, I made one from the Sew Frugal 22 but I'm going to try to hack it up and make it smaller! It ended up being way too big so much so it kept shifting on me. I also agree on the sweat pants and not wearing them out of the house, I do wear them to the pool and right back home but that's it, I don't go shopping after or anything like that. I love your skirt, in the warmer weather you could switch the leggings to capri leggings if you wanted to. It looks awesome with the jean jacket! I have the free dress from Fabric-Store put together but it too is too big. My daughter said I should make it into a jumpsuit but I don't think that will happen. I might shorten it for a fun summer dress and see if I can put princess seams in the front and back like the top for SF22 to take it in alot. It was my sew yellow for Endo that didn't get finished! My next big thing is sewing up leggings from Greenstyle to make into capri swim pants, I've never tackled leggings before! I think I will practice with the less expensive fabric in case I mess up! lol

That DIBY skirt surprised me - I would have dismissed it immediately, but it looks really pretty on you & my shape is not a million miles away from yours. I'm currently making my first Kersoe Top, so I await your comments with interest. I'm enjoying the make and my toile looked really good even though I needed some tweaks.

Hi Megan. you've convinced me to get that skirt pattern. It looks great on you. I also zm 5ft9 and pear shaped and don't like dolmen tops, I've stopped sewing them apart from a few tnt patterns that I know work on me. I hate too much fabric around my upper chest and shoulders. enjoy youminu break - it sounds perfect❤❤

Hi Megan, I have some lovely heathered knit from l’oiseau here in Calgary that will be a carefree cuffed tee when I’ve printed my pattern out. The fabric feels lovely and soft like my husband’s BR tee shirts. Hope you enjoy your pamper day, 🤞🏻for an early spring, haha I really should know better though.

Simplicity 1461 might work for the white top with ribbon trim!

All your makes look great, and the hight of the front of the first skirt looks great as is. Maybe the March top could be hacked to mimic the top you were wearing.

I love the skirt with the denim jacket, that’s the same as my style and I’m fed up of wearing jeans too so I think I need to take a look at those patterns as I’ve never bought from them before.

The Fern Top by Pattern Scout has a front yoke like that and an expansion pack for additional necklines. I'm in the process of making it right now.

Your Pattern Emporium makes look great! I thought they were nice after watching Kate's teaser videos, but your video has made me think I need them. 😀 The skirt would be a wonderful travel piece too. As comfortable as sweats, but a bit elevated. My mom had similar views about appropriate wear outside the home that she passed on to me. I just cut out the No-Zip Skirt by Blue Dot Patterns and will be sewing it up tomorrow.

Those are some really successful makes! You look great in all of them :) I'm interested to see what you think of the Quebec skirt - I recently made a wearable toile of the Quebec in a nice rayon ponte, and it turned out really well. I'm definitely going to make one in a stretch denim next. Right now I'm making an Olya shirtdress for Spring. I also need to whip up some simple t-shirts soon - I like to make something easy (usually knit) after making something that is a bit more involved.

I think McCall's 7804 is fairly similar to your top - the pattern is a dress, not a top, but that could be altered. Although there must be a top pattern out there, I feel like I've seen plenty of them in the past.

I love dolman sleeves on other people but I feel like they make me look sloppy somehow. Maybe it's because I'm kind of an inverted triangle? Anyway, love the colour and shape of the PE cuffed tee on you.

Always love to see what you’re up to. That skirts feels like you, and I am understand the need for a little more length in the front to make it feel like you. I can’t help with the bib front top pattern, but it feels like one was released recently. You could just mark out where you want the ribbon trim and stitch it on. You may not need another pattern. Love the skirt! I recently took a pattern for joggers and turned it into a similar style shirt, with some added panels - that allowed me to add inseam pockets more in line with my hip bones, in the front, rather than on the side seam…hate adding more width there on my Italian middle aged frame. It’s now my golfing skirt, since I am learning to play this year. Have to be comfortable while I am uncomfortable learning something new…I’ll have to try my athletic style skirt with more casual kicks. I need to go shopping for something a little less runner style…yours are so cute! Have you made any progress with finding a casual jacket pattern so you can ad some more office Attire, or are you limping along with your RTW purchases a while back? I work in a production department so it’s all very casual. I miss dressing up a bit on occasion. Thanks for letting me relive some of those days through your closet adventures.
