Love love love all your makes - and I especially love your chalk and notch top you are wearing ❤ Aahh it was just an absolute pleasure to chat to you and get to know you too. Hopefully more of that to come in the future too ❤❤❤
I don’t know how you fit everything in Rachael! Some great makes yet again. That burnt orange looks great. That Frocktail dress is going to look amazing. 👗 Beautiful colour too. So glad you didn’t play it safe with black. I do love green. I’m just finishing a simple pale green Spring dress. Thanks for your vlog.
Oh no, so sorry you’ve been dealing with disease lately! Thank you so much for your kind words about my quilt-along. Your block is so, so nice. The colour of your bias-cut skirt is stunning. The sweatshirts are so nice. 💞
Love all your makes, especially the Max Tee! Your crochet projects are so cute, I've been trying to teach myself to crochet through you tube tutorials. My mom was a wonderful crocheter and made many afghans for me and my sisters. I love sewing too and really enjoy your videos!
Hi Jackie’ thanks so much! I’m really enjoying the crochet! How lovely that your mum used to make you crochet items! I’m very glad you enjoy th channel. Thanks so much for watching
Another great collection of makes! I really like the max tee as a pullover. That is brilliant!! And good save on the Alice shirt to Emmi Tee! I have noticed you do that a few times…cut on the cross grain, sew an extra seam because you could get it on the fold or jigsaw a few pieces to make one…and it is a good way to put our creative experience to use! Thanks for sharing your aces and your saves!! That frocktails dress is going to be a stunner! Mr. French Seams is going to want to whip you off to a night at the Ritz in that lovely number! Have fun sewing it!
Thanks cyndy!!! The max tee is the best pattern!!!! I do everything I can to squeeze a make out of no fabric at all 😂😂😂 ooooh I’ll let me French seams know that the pressure is on 😜
Hi Rachael, i am following along with Issy's sampler quilt as well. I have just finished the first one, and am cutting out the second today. I love the way it is coming together, and Issy's instructions are so clear and easy to follow.
Awww... Rachel.. You are such an inspiration for everyone 🙏. Fantastic makes as usual 👌❤️. I adore your red max tee and it's now on my list to do 😉. Hope your family is on the mend 🙏🤗😘
Oh, this was exactly (!) the sewing inspiration I needed today. I can't believe how productive you have been, even when your boys have been poorly. So well done! I love your Nest sweatshirts, and that Mari dress will look stunning! I look forward to following your journey into jeans making. I keep referencing the Stitch sisters video on jeans patterns. They did a long video where they talked about all the patterns they had found. I was thinking that the Halfmoon atelier 101 jeans might be for you? It has a straight leg, but it is low rise, and the shape looks like it could fit you very well. Have a lovely weekend, and thanks again for spreading your love of sewing with us!
Ah thank you Karen Marie! Very glad you enjoyed it!!! I’ll definitely check out the half moon jeans too. I didn’t know they had one! Hope you’re well and have a lovely day x
LOL! "But I have been sewing. Don't you worry about that.' I am exhausted from seeing your makes. I hope your family are fully recovered now. Thanks for taking the time to send us an update of your hectic life.
Lovely makes again, Rachel! I think you looked so glam in your electric blue skirt and navy top and I also love the orange top you’re wearing - great use for the offcuts. After 3 years of sewing I’m starting to branch out a bit into crafting and made the fold away tote bag you made a month or two ago - gorgeous simple make. Thanks for the inspiration! Can thoroughly recommend Gail Patrice Yellen’s RU-vid tutorials on finishing seams with different types of thread on overlocker/coverstitch. ❤
Thanks so much sue! I love that outfit! It was very glam! I’m so glad you made that tote! What a wonderful pattern!! I’ll check out that RU-vid channel! Thank you so much for the recommendation! Thanks for watching!
Love love your makes! I will be checking out some of these patterns, I love seeing the different patterns you come across. I am also a huge bias binding fan & I hate facings too. I just recently bought the electric bias tape maker & I absolutely love it, I use up my lovely scraps. Have a great week
Thank you so much! I’m glad you found some patterns you like the look of! Team bias binding 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 that machine looks amazing! Hope you have lots of fun with it! Thanks for watching jo
When I saw the Lore pattern I actually thought you would like it ( I'm not a stalker, I promise 😂) You frocktails dress will be beautiful, a stunning pattern
Hi Rachael-great to see you again! I just recently got the Malala pattern also-I can’t wait to try it. I think you will love the way they do their instructions and they do add in little videos too. I can’t wait to see what you show us next! Have a great week ❤-Mary
Wow Rachael ,you had a very productive week 👏 I love all the makes ,I'm really taken with the Easter table mats they are so cute 🤩🤩 and ooh the frocktails dress will be so glamorous 😍😍😍 I hope everyone gets better soon xx
Hi Rachael, I too found the SOI Alice top VERY low at the centre-front. I managed to raise it 1" at centre-front and the second version was better. I also graded the front cup and front cup lining from a 12 at the armscye to a 10 at the bottom of the pattern piece and this took out some of the fullness and gave it a better fit overall. For reference I am 35.5" A/B sewing cup and generall get a good fit from SOI size 12 patterns. Hope this helps you as it is a nice top when it fits.
Glad it’s not just me! Raising the front is a great idea, but does it make the tab much bigger? I never fit in their size 12. I need lots of adjustments. It is a shame as the top is really cute! Thanks so much for the feedback and thanks for watching!
Hi Rachel I wish I could join you in Galway. We visited there 10 years ago and I’m ready to return. My broken wrist is finally healed enough to return to sewing. I have the Malala top on my cutting table 😅. I live in turtleneck shirt and jumpers all winter (we are outside Washington, DC). Now I’ve written a book, lol. Have a great week. Oh, I’ve been watching Izzy since she started. I would love to meet her in person, She is lovely on video. Be well-Claudia
Hi claudia! Ahhhh book a flight 😉 the malala seems popular! How great’ and you’ve written a book??? Please let me know the name!!! Izzy seems just wonderful doesn’t she! Have a lovely week!
Cotton lawn and quilting cotton never the two shall meet ha ha ha hi. I'm sorry your family have snapped in feeling well. They should be on the men's pretty soon. Your classes seem to be going well and I'm very excited for you.❤
What lovely makes Rachel. I really don't know how you fit so much into such a busy life. I was so disappointed after watching your last video as i really liked the fabrics you had purchased from Driessen Stoffen, however they don't deliver to the Isle of Man. Thank you for your video.
Thanks Mary!! Wow they don’t deliver there. What a shame! That’s a pity as they do have great stuff. Hopefully you have lots of other shops you can purchase from! Happy sewing and thanks for wsthcing
Well you have been so busy. Your skirt is very cute. Loving your orange top. Have you looked at the Stylearc Miranda skirt that would be lovely on you. Lots of gathering I have heard.
Thanks so much Moria ! The Miranda is really impactful isn’t it!!! Looks so great! Thanks for bringing that to my attention! Thanks so much for watching too!
Sew Over It have the Mia pattern for skinny jeans and the waist height might be what you are after. They are in their “My Capsule Wardrobe: City Break” ebook. 😊
Sorry to hear about your families woes! Glad you have escaped all those germs! You always make me want to get my crochet needles back out again 😂. I'm addicted to making Adams little pouches of all sizes! You have done so many amazing projects and those Easter runners are so cute. Loving the sleeveless top you are wearing. Thanks so much for showing us all your makes ❤
Thanks Carole!! It’s that time of year isn’t it!!! Adam’s pouches are just great! I need to make the large I think! Glad you enjoyed all my makes this week xx
Actually today DIBY Cooper Creek patterns released the Farmhouse chic skirt pattern which I tested cute A line button front skirt, elastic at back perhaps to check? I'm in process making a bias skirt trying sparrow refashion free pattern but good to see how SOI skirt turned out ❤
I took a look at that just now! Very cute skirt! I decided on the mood pattern in the end, also free 💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 hope yours turned out well! Thanks for watching
Hi Rachel, great makes love your quilting blocks. I'm also following Issy's quilt along but not started block 2 yet. But agree Issy is a fantastic teacher.
Your makes are wonderful and varied. Love the skirt and tuille- gorgeous. And I look forward to seeing you in your frocktails dress. I’ve watched Izzy with all intentions of making the blocks but I’m a bit behind 🤦🏼♀️
Thanks so much Jan! Izzys blocks are so much fun! And what a great teacher. The videos are there for you whenever you have time. The beauty of RU-vid! Hope you’re well x
Wow Rachael! You’ve done so well with everything else going on! I also got the Malala pattern recently as I love an unusual neck band on a sweatshirt, I also got the Itch to stitch Boalsburg too to use up my ponte scraps 😀 loved your vlog as always xx
Hi. I am new to dressmaking (and your channel), with little experience when it comes to working with knit fabrics. I like your Max Tee and wondered if I could make it from scuba fabric. I purchased a remnant at a bargain price and have been wondering what to make with it. Also, in last week's video, you showed us your Donni shirt - I wondered if it is geared towards a beginner like me. I assume it is made using a woven fabric, which I am used to working with.
Hi Linda! The max tee is a fabulous pattern and it would totally work with scuba. It would have great structure just like the one I’m wearing. The Donny is a fabulous pattern. I can’t seem to find where it shows the sewing level. It’s a bit tricky with the burrito neckline and some finer tailoring details but they do have a fabulous sew along so you could give it a go? Yes it’s woven and you could choose a nice stable one. Perhaps choose some cheaper fabric to practice with? Very best of luck!!!
Hi Racheal. Is the top you are wearing a Max Tee or an LB Pullover? The link you have given is for the LB but you "seem" to be talking about the Max tee? I want to make it but not sure which pattern you have made 😉 Could you clarify please. TY xx
Hi there! I’m wearing the max tee! And I love it! I linked both the max tee and the lb pullover as I spoke about both’ hope that clarifies! Thanks for watching
