Butter and golden syrup so yum, they look delicious i can near smell it cooking. Great tip to keep the oil clean too.

Kia Ora from Tokoroa! I am an American proudly married to a Tainui boy and my favourite topping on fried bread is champagne ham and colby cheese...thin slice of tomato and cracked pepper but every time I make it, my darling husband says his Nan is rolling in her grave for destroying my friend bread...hahahahaha. We also make them round and put chilli cheese tomato onion salsa we call them Indian tacos.. Soo good! Give it a try, great dinner!

My mother my she rest in peace. She would make me fried bread doe. She made her a bit longer and I would put butter and cinnamon and sugar on it. Was very delicious! I haven't had moms fried bread doe in over 30 year's. I sure miss it.

This is a euro thing, moari never had fried bread. It's not a Maori thing. So sad to see that Maori take othe culture stuff, try to make it their own but complain and cry when other cultures do the same thing.
