Excellent! I also have the BE-Od and you’re correct, it just has a “feel” to it. Distortion pedals these days are great, especially the Friedman, Bogner, and Diezel amp-based pedals.

Thanks for the comparison. I already have the 005, 008, 0012 and I got a good deal on the 002 today. The only preamp I didn't like was the 001 (Gas Station = Diezel). It was way too fizzy when used with high gain. I think the Mooer Fried Mien 0012 is the best out of the whole series for heavy tones, followed by the 005 Fifty-Fifty. I have the EVH 5150 Overdrive and it's nice and feels more organic (if that's even a word in this context) mut for the price the mooer preamps are STUNNING and have a clean channel as well. Running them into a EHX .44 Magnum and it's super loud.

Hey Euge, I am very biased towards the BE-OD. I bought the pedal when I first saw your Pedalboard walkthrough. I am running it also through the Mooer Radar, with the germanV preset. I love the distortion and feel of this pedal. It works great with and without the TS9 and sound really massiv. The Mooer pedal are great to, but still I would choose the Friedman over it. Thank you very much for your Demo videos they helped a lot when deciding what pedal to buy. I was between the BE-OD and the EVH Overdrive. Friedman was the way to go.

I like and use a BE OD myself and plug it into the power amp section of my Mrashall JCM 900 . . All three pedals sound great but to me the BE has a more full less high end sound , More harmonically rch . I also have an SD 1 but have never ever tried it in front of the BE so tha t sounds something I need to try. Thanks for these brilliant videos

Yes, the Friedman wins. But I like the Mooers, too. I’ve got their Blacknight pedal, a sort if Richie Blackmore’s Engl amp in pedal format! Keep it up, Euge!

Since he uses Friedman amps nowadays I’d go with the BE-OD 😎👍. That’s my favourite OD / Distortion pedal and is capable of many different sounds 👌.

Hello Euge, ı hope you are well and safe! i have a q for you, i know thats mooers are digital when we compare with pedal but which one of do you recommend for heavy metal such as ıron maiden sound or judas priest sound? i have already got that softube amp also did some tries with that but really wonder that mooer amps sound but need to get that sound on my secomd album? please advise thanks stay heavy!!

Thanks! Yeah it sounds a bit muddy here but live I really like it (and especially our FOH guy) since there's not that much of ear piercing highs involved :-) And the IR I had for this video worked a bit better with the Mooers but I wanted to have the same IR on all since this was a comparison :-)

I like the demo. I have the BE-OD great pedal. I have the Mooer Preamp Live as well which has the other two preamps. There is a problem with this comparison, however. The Mooers are preamps. They are voiced to go straight into a power amplifier or cab sim. The BE-OD on the other hand is an overdrive. It is intended to go into the front input of a guitar amp lOW into a preamp. This explains the obvious tonal difference the mooers as scooped with prominent highs whereas the BE-OD is not. It’s fat and dark in comparison.

Thanks for your comments Greg and I'm glad you like the demo. You are correct and in a way not :-) I use BE-OD in both situations you described. With my band Cyhra I use it directly into a Neunaber Iconoclast speaker emulator (on live shows, in the studio I use mostly real amps) and in some other situations I use it in front of tube amp's clean channel and sometimes directly into power amp (effect loops return) and it works great in all 3 situations. You just have to tweak the nobs quite differently depending on the situation. I really really like the BE-OD for the stuff you’re doing. IMO better than the Mooer preamps, to be honest. In his demos Ola Englund almost always plugs everything into the back of his amp and manages to make any halfway decent pedal sound great. It definitely works. Besides that BE-OD has plenty of top end to get the job done.

Hey man I also have the be-od, just ordered the uk gold ( got a great price used) thanks to ur vids! My question to you sir is, although I have a small tube amp, it has no effect loop, I've heard these Mooers don't sound good straight, is that true? One last thing, great playing by the way, and, come on, we're all guitar snobs, I'll bet, especially live, no one can tell the difference, they just rave on you and ur band!

Cool! They do just fine in front too. Just dial the knobs to find the sweet spots from the amp and from the Mooer. The same settings usually don’t work for both cases. Indeed 😎. Thanks!

Thanks for the demos! Btw Euge, the Mooer 002 emulates the Marshall JCM 900, while the Mooer 012 is the one that is based on the Friedman BE100. I know, in the end you will get the same "core" sound since the JCM and the BE100 share the same "ancestor" circuitry (Marshall Plexi), but they still have their differences. For example, the real JCM900 has a more scooped sound and is brighter than the BE100, which is more flat sounding and has more gain.

Yeah old Marshalls can be quite different from each other. I mean I’ve played with awesome 800s and with really crappy ones. Luckily I have 3 awesome ones 😎👌.

Ok cool 😎. I’ve had the same experience with 900s 😊. But every 900 SL-X I’ve played has been a killer. It’s like 800 2203 but with 4 preamp tubes so kinda like a modded 2203 💪😎. On one Italian tour with Shining I had a 900 Dual Reverb which was just amazing. It was a rental amp and if the company would’ve sold it to me I’d have also a 900 now 😎.

I like to use SD-1 in front of everything 👌😎. It just boosts the mids nicely, adds a tiny bit of compression and asymmetrical clipping if I want 👌.

There's a big difference on the price between the friedman and mooer, I think friedman cost more than doubled price of mooer. I think it's worthy for its sound and capabilities, right?

I think so. My favourite overdrive for example is BOSS SD-1 which is one of the cheapest. It’s not how much it costs but how it sounds 👌😎.

So you compare two budget pedals with a pro level pedal ...it is like comparing a soldano with a modelling combo and make the conclusion that the soldano is better .......of course it is better it was made to be so .....understand?.......I like your videos thought ....keep rocking
