She beyond flawed in opinion She’s ridiculous!

I can think of very few instances. I used to be a home health aid and a nurse I worked with was saying how she was going with another client to get a tat. I thought she was talking about an adult but it was a girl about 14-16. Not sure of her condition but she wasn't expected to live that much longer (she had a degenerative illness is all I remember) and really wanted one. Her mom got a note written by her Dr saying it wouldn't hurt her medically to get one. I can see instances like that

There should be strong legal consequences!!!

For the tattoo for an underage teen, supposed to be the legal guardian, and the defendant was not the legal guardian. Defendant was a bad parent and bet still is a bad grandparent.

@@nanjones3973 Sure, but that doesn't give the right of the defendant to make such decisions for the plaintiff's child. If the defendant shipped her off to a boarding school would you be making dumb excuses too? Neither mother is looking great, but you still don't do what the defendant did.

@@elvickRULES Where did I make excuses? The defendant is obviously wrong, but the plaintiff is a poor excuse of a parent. The plaintiff should stop popping out babies if she’s too overwhelmed to want to deal with her kids and pushing them off on someone else. There’s no way I would allow my kid to live with someone I barely know for 2 months, 2 weeks…. Or even a day.

I wonder why they couldn't just get it removed since where i live it costs £20 - £300 so it's pretty cheap but anyhow, how do you gte rid of tattoos when you take a photo of them? Or did you mean that you were a photo editor that removes and adds things to the picture?

@@arioniscool I did say that I was a wedding photographer, not a plastic surgeon. Of course I edited the tattoos out of photos using Photoshop (and before that, negative retouching). I thought that was obvious. My point was that these women who were so proud of their tattoos are now embarrassed by them.

You can like your tattoos and not want them in the wedding album you give to your parents and inlaws… I wouldn’t say that request automatically means they regret them.

Variants of this case come up from time to time, and I'm always incredulous that an adult had the nerve to impersonate a minor's parent and authorize things like this, truly thinking it will be okay.

Exactly! Defendant essentially said, "Well, I TRIED getting in touch with her mother. " Oh, OK. But if you can't, you don't take her to get a tattoo! Defendant should have been the adult and said, "I can't get in touch with your mother for permission, and therefore, I'm not authorizing this."

So the defendant would feel guilty for going behind a parent's back. Shame on the defendant. This was when they were told to be friends with their kids and the defendant took it a step further with someone else's kid.

Defendant did not have legal custody of the child, only was staying there, supposedly helping her daughter with her studies. But there was more to that story.

Back in the 1960s the only people who had tattoos were carnies or sailors. None of us high school or college girls would ever have thought of doing that to our bodies. My mother freaked out when I wanted my ears pierced. And I only wanted that because I hate clip ons and there are much prettier earrings for pierced ears. I wasn’t trying to be edgy or bold.

And even back then, payphone calls was 50 cents.

We have such weird laws and societal norms. Join the military and lose limbs or die for your country at 17, but cannot buy alcohol until 21. Alcohol kills with poisoning and drunk driving but is perfectly legal, while a plant that successfully treats medical conditions---and doesn't kill anyone---is illegal. Permanent body modification is legal at 18--not only tattoos but plastic and genital surgery, but the frontal lobe of the brain (logic & reason) is not fully developed until the mid-twenties.

@lauraharris3577, Reputable Tattoo parlors and piercing studios are extremely careful about NOT performing body modification of ANY KIND on minors. The operators don't want to deal with the hassle and expense of lawsuits. Kids will fake a signature, have a "friend" pose as the parent, etc. A simple policy of "NO MINORS" avoids all the associated BS.

It was public phones installed throughout cities and rural regions and it cost a quarter for local calls. Everyone having a cell phone made them obsolete. But you can still see them in older movies.

Back then? I’m not sure when that was but I’d wager it was 1995-2000. You should have seen how the kids looked in 5he 1960s-before they went to Woodstock and became drug addicts that is. Cute haircuts, empire waste dresses, miniskirts were just coming out but you couldn’t have them shorter 5hen two fingers width from your knees. The guys were hunky too.

This isn't a beauty pageant. Girls and women are constantly being compared and judged on their looks.
