Anything, ANYTHING, in this world, is YOURS, if you're willing to put in the work. The most important part of the work is learning how to work smart and productively. Many people repetitively 'practice' the same things over and over, or don't practice at all. You will pass them at lightning speed if you first learn HOW to put the work into your goal.

@@RockYourBestVocals It's a long story, but I'll try to boil it down to: 1) follow enough vocal coaches to know WHAT to do when practicing, warming up, etc. 2) Don't be afraid to make crazy sounds to get familiar with what you can do with your voice, 3) Be confident and self-aware enough to decide what is helpful to you and what is not, 4) Always measure your progress, and if there isn't any progress, change up what you're doing, 5) RECORD YOURSELF and get used to it (get comfortable with it), no matter how bad it sounds, because you have to start somewhere. Try different things (from vocal coaches to see what improves your recordings). As I have worked through singing and recording with karaoke tracks, I have identified certain intervals (through specific songs) that give me difficulty. For example, singing the 2nd and 6th tones of the scale over the 1 chord. Once I identified that, I came up with my own vocal exercise to train myself on that specific song, which improved this skill for other songs as well. You don't need to be a master at music theory, but if you know scales on any instrument, you can match tones and break a song down line by line. All of this takes many hours of commitment. If you're willing to do what most people give up on, then you will succeed. Don't Give Up!

Needed to hear this. Been beating myself up lately. I have taken so many lessons and spent so much money and still sound meh. Can’t seem to get it. Totally feel like giving up.

We are our own worst critics. Hang in there my friend. You are not alone. A journey of hard work gets more and more lonely and discouraging as it goes. That's because many have quit and you begin to find yourself alone and/or critized for continuing, by those who gave up.

Been having weekly lessons for about 6 months here in England. Retired female so have plenty of time to practice. Just working through freeing my voice at the moment, getting better I believe it to be tension. Any tips welcome.

@@RockYourBestVocalslistened to all 3 and for me I liked them. I thought they were different and easy to understand. I will listen to them more and do the exercises. There are so many takes on support and front support seems to cause me tension so I'm looking forward to exploring the belt method you teach to see if it helps. I have a great weekly teacher and I also like to listen to other teachers too. I thought your lessons were great, thank you.

Suppose you write a song and you upload it to the major streaming platforms. 45.6 million tracks received zero plays in 2023. That represents 24.8% of the 184 million tracks available on audio streaming platforms. How do you prevent that from happening to your song? Someone could upload an amazing song to Spoitfy and the rest tomorrow, but if I don't know that song exists, if you don't know that song exists, the song could be incredible, but if nobody knows it exists, they'e not going to looking for it so they can play it, are they? How do you overcome that problem?

In my opinion, if it's an amazing song, people WILL listen AND share... (think of Nirvana's 'Smells Like Teen Spirit' - you couldn't ignore it!) Most artists write one or two average sounding songs, upload, and get bummed out when it doesn't 'take off'. You can only control the INPUTS (write more/better songs!) ABBA wrote a song a day consistently for a LOOOONNNNNGGGG time (their theory was 'write enough songs and you'll eventually write a hit')... Prince wrote CONSTANTLY... he has something like 6,000 songs in his 'vault'...
