Alternatively, we could have a day/cycle, have each match start at noon, then reach nighttime as the ring grows smaller. Once it's reached a threshold, the game goes pitch black, and we hard cut to spotlights turning on, revealing the remaining contenders inside a proper ring, crowd immediately cheering.

I am SO disappointed that they didn't include some sort of wrestling move system, where you go around collecting wrestling magazines and wrestling posters to get wrestling moves. All the items are on at elevated places and are only accessible via a ladder. And there is a Money in the Bank briefcase that lets you instantly be one of the final few wrestlers on the ring at the end
Oooh, so basically a super-rare, one-time revive, that activates at the final ring. And when it activates, the game pauses for a moment as your wrestler appears, saunters up to the ring, and climbs in while their theme song plays.

I'm surprised non of them had the idea of the map being a wrestling venue, with areas like the parking lot, locker rooms, manager office etc. And instead of circle of death, the areas get turned into death zones a la Radical Heights, with the final zone always being the ring.
I think a huge ring consisting of intertwining ropes and polls that make up 8 rings (4x4) would be fine. This would be be perfect for a 80 man and still enough to fit a 100 man wrestler battle royal.

If you win the time limited money in the bank event you can spectate any currently running match and at any time you can pull the trigger to cash it in and a big dumb entrance happens, no matter what state the match is in. Your wrestler runs down a huge ramp with their music blaring and you superhero land right in the middle of all the gassed finalists with full meter.
The barrier ropes will always be in a square, a squared circle if you will. Pat said there'd be Backyard style wrestling environments like fences, sheds, houses etc., but there is a zone called the "House of Horrors" neighbourhood where each house is a hardcore match zone. Also, somewhere on the map, you can take control of the Wyatt Compound, where you can recruit others to join your family as a temporary alliance so that you can't be targeted by said family members--and if you defeat enough wrestlers, you can summon lightning! You can find Undertaker's workshop to use coffins. You can use the Lex Express to get around. You can find a special suit called, The Shock Master, that allows you to crash through walls. There would be Perks in the form of Belts, if you are wearing a belt either from your loadout or, just received one from the map in a Ladder match where there be a belt suspended. However, Belts can also be found in Triple Cages, Lethal Lockdowns, Cells, Kennels From Hell Cells, etc, even from the Champions themselves that are on the map, you need a referee though.
Addressing Matt from the beginning of the video, a battle royal is already a match type. The Royal Rumble is just a modified version of it, created by Pat Paterson. It's all the guys in the ring at the beginning of the match and then being eliminated by being thrown over the ropes. The Royal Rumble is a superior drip feed version of that.
Woolie's weird Mario Galaxy Cube world got me thinking about the movie Cube. Like the entire cube consists of smaller cubes made of rings and only once in a blue moon, when the ring cube you and your opponent are currently inhabiting is at the outmost layer of cubes, only then are you able to score a ring-out until you plummet back into the depths of the Time Ring Cube. Just typing this out made me feel the rush of Insight gained from Madman's Knowledge.
Ok listen hear me out. Refs don't get dropped by crates, refs get summoned. Each wrestler can carry a maximum of one ref whistle and starts out with one. The moment one wrestler hits another, a ring spawns around them. The ring disappears only when there is one wrestler left standing. Anyone can jump in an existing ring. Any wrestler inside the ring can summon a ref to rule on a submission hold, but that consumes the ref whistle he carries. If the ref rules in his favour, the ref remains as long as that wrestler keeps winning. Ref whistles are dropped like crates, but a bit more frequently. You can also jump out of the ring and run away, but that consumes one ref whistle. The death zone is a closing cage. Once 5 people are left standing, it becomes a proper wrestle stage 10km up in the air as Pat said. The cage actually pushes you, you physically cannot be outside it. So if you're in a ring and the cage pushes you out, you have a ring out and lose. This means that two people can be pushed out of a ring simultaneously and both lose.
I just imagine it being like the duelist kingdom in Yugioh where like everyone is dropped in an island and there's like rings literred all over the place. You go up to someone and go "hey I challenge you to a match let's go to the ring and settle this also bring in the ref". Anyone eliminated gets sent back on a plane while the winners just continue looking for the others before it's finally one man standing
No, there should only be one ref on the field but players have a set numbr of refs they can call in during a game that will function similarly to a supply drop
I remember on the second season of Kinnikuman, they go to a planet that it's shaped like a hand, and each finger was a ring. Is that what you are referring?
@@theothermc A ring for each single finger. I think all the opponents were jobbers, not real plot important opponents. Idk, it's been literally half a decade since I watched Kinnikuman.
There needs to be a face/heel dynamic you can pick for your wrestler. Faces do more damage by performing difficult technical moves, heels do more damage by using weapons, performing sneak attacks, nut shots, etc.
I had an idea similar to a wrestling battle royal. King of the hill on top of a multilevel cage, like a step pyramid. You get eliminated by being thrown off.
Woolie really needs to watch Tiger Mask W because in one of the episodes there a wrestler battle royal and a pyramid match where fighters fight to the top. Also there is a battle royal deathmatch where the final boss is a terminator wrestler robot. Im not making this shit up.
Something else to make the game work would be instances of matches that happen across the map randomly like pubg's red danger bombing zones. Get caught in one and now everyone in its radius is forced into something like a ladder match, climb or die losers. Also pick ups could just be the special moves of real wrestlers.
I just want some Deadliest Warrior multicube of bars and metal cages, and you not only are trying to win the royale rumble but escape the cube to the final arena, like extreme ladder tier
Perk: High Time The ability to super jump off the turn buckle, soar in air over the whole map for a limited time and pick who you wanna elbow-drop like you're a living tactical nuke strike
I preferred the massive open ring. Can you imagine clotheslining someone from a mile run up. Running across a wasteland forearm out, opponent CANNOT dodge.
Omg and what if there is a special item that is just a section of ropes that when it is placed near an opponent you will be able to do high damage moves like the 619 omg. And with customized moves and taunts. Custom characters is a must.AAAAAAHHHH AND SPECIAL DROPS CAN CALL IN SUPER CHARACTERS FOR SUPER MOVES. WHY AM I GETTING SO EXCITED!!!!!?????
Ok.....man....if only i was more skilled as a programmer i would totally try and do this and maybe even someday i will ;) . And if i made it super rich from it you bet your ass i would be giving all 3 of these guys my money and credit for the idea because i love these goofballs and have been watching them for 8 years.
Imagine an island where there are rings of all kinds spread out across it, one is a cage, another is a ladder match, etc. Now, you can fight outside of the rings, BUT, you can only eliminate someone inside the ring. Of course instead of guns you can find chairs, tables and many different items across the map that you can use. There will also be different modes, one could be called Undertaker mode, think of the Thanos event, but with the Undertaker.
Dead players can wait till the end of the match and become members of the audience. These players can throw in small weapons and have prompts to cheer for different players to provide very small heat power-ups.
Just have the wrestlers parachuted outside of the stadium itself. The ropes can still be the enclosing boundary, and just have all the Rustling shenanigans you'd see every time the cameras were outside the ring be the eliminations (i.e. chasing dudes around with a sledgehammer, running over fools in your golf cart, and gathering all your chairs/chains/ladders and etc). Then, the ropes force everyone into the stadium, where the fans have been waiting and cheer on the last few remaining wrestlers as they climb into the ring, with all of their gear in tow, for the final cage match.
The barrier could be ropes, which is strong, but to punish the wrestler for being outside the barrier you are being pummelled by fans and / or Lumberjack wrestlers.
