It's the pacing. If the pacing wasn't there for the laughing track it would play out like two people having a conversation about a missing sandwich, then ones admits that he ate that sandwich and doesn't seem to give a crap. The other person gets quite mad, which is reasonable if I'm honest. I see Ross' point but this scene plays out real weird. Also he does go a bit far but, like, the guy's a douche.
Fun fact, Friends was filmed in front of a live audience. No laughter track was used. They actually used the audience reaction to adjust scenes and even rewrite lines on the go. So the laughter is genuine (except in certain scenes or circumstances) That being said, as a huge fan, this is freaking hilarious 😂
The laughter isn't genuine, they're still told when they should be laughing. The whole point of it is to trick the people watching on TV that unfunny things are actually funny.
I disagree. I know they may be prompted, but it is mostly genuine. There was a particular time i read about when the audience wasn't really laughing the way they wanted, so they had Matthew Perry rewrite some lines until they got the reaction they were looking for. There were also times when the audience reaction was too extreme, and they had to redo the scene multiple times. Anyway, the subject was a laugh track which is added afterwards. Friends didn't have that 🙃
@@djlovesyou8302 No one is told when to laugh. This is not a talk show. there is no Applause sign or Laugh sign. Yes, audiences are coached before the taping to not hold it in or anything, but there is no one standing there saying "Laugh now."
at work we take each other's snacks from the lockers and joke about it perhaps swap with ours, nothing serious. obviously if its someone's lunch or something it won't happen

Well, Ross looks like that because that was the intention of the writers. Actually, the whole point of the scene is to make Ross look like a psychopath. He was annoyed by his coworkers cause they ate his food, he asked Phoebbe an advice and she wrote threatening notes to put on top of his food. After a while, Ross’ boss started to worry because of his hostile behavior and reccommends to visit a therapists. Ross feels embarrassed and tries to explain everything… which leads us to this funny final part where Ross reveals his anger. A couple of days after, in the same episode, he enters his apartment alongside Rachel and tells her that his therapy sessions have worked out perfectly... Only to look through the window and find out that his best friend has had a secret relationship with Ross’ sister and Ross starts getting Hulk mode again. That’s good comedy.
And then throwing it in the trash. And then offering the peron to go look through your trash to find it. If Ross beat him to a pulp then and there, it would've been completely understandable.
Ross is such a serial killer like every video that I watch of yours it’s just Ross being a serial killer and the way David acts it is just so brilliant. He should really do like a horror movie or something. It’s hilarious😂

This would be far creepier without the drama. No music, no laugh track, no goofy camera angles. In fact, it would be REALLY creepy if the whole thing was shot from a security camera.
It was actually quite terrifying how he looked at him after he confessed he ate it, dead radio silence and the darkest eyes with a strong lighting, terrific
he just got a divorce so it’s silly to me that they’re acting like he’s insane when in reality he just had a bad week and the sandwich was the explosion of emotions for him.
I've seen maybe 6 episodes of friends in my life, this was one of them. I never understood why the story point was that he over reacted. It was one of the reasons I never tried to get into the show. I was like if the laugh is he is over reacting and freaking out, I just don't get your humor. His reaction is pretty normal IMO.
Well, considering he is supposed to be somewhat intelligent, it is a little bit silly how he reacted but its a sitcom. If Ross would just request compensation for the sandwich, that would be not very funny.

Your channel is a bit manipulative, you get people to subscribe even though you have no content to creat an illusion that the idea is just a funny act, until you actually get the subscribers and then you post your first video, and, out of curiosity, your subscribers click on it, getting attention and ad revenue, making you rich, without even trying. I’m not trying to be mean, but do not do this. It takes people years and years to even get to one million subscribers, it takes devotion, it is demeaning to them to make a channel like this.
@@b3nl555 Well they did film it in front of an audience that's a known fact. They might have added tracks additionally or for some scenes where they're outside. I'm not sure if it's purely audience. But it was filmed in front of an audience at least mostly.
I've never been a Friends fan but I just realized that Schwimmer's acting is unnecessarily good here. You get so distracted by the laugh track it's hard to notice
David Schwimmer, Matt LeBlanc and Lisa Kudrow are super underrated actors, specifically because of this show. Watch them in movies and you'll get a whole different view on their skill. Jennifer Aniston and Courtney Cox aren't terrible, but tend to play the same characters every time.
@@Colphin Given the countless millions they've raked in over the years from this show alone, no I'd say they aren't underrated one bit. Also the show is a literal billion dollar franchise. I can't stand it personally, but I also can't deny there are people thought this was entertainment and professed their love for it.

When I say "underrated", I mean most people see them as silly sitcom actors, when in reality, even on Friends, they all performed very well and have shown they can pull their weight in other roles too, which isn't always appreciated I feel.
Victor Soares I get exactly what you are saying. They turned a comical situation into a dramatic/thriller-esque one. I don't think some of the people that answered you get it. I actually came here to say the exact same thing.
It's supposed to, the overreaction is intended to be the joke's punchline, but you are supposed to root for Ross, because it's Ross and he is definitely in the right. He is "plagued" at work by a bunch of infants who are incapable of respecting private property or are too stupid to tell the difference between what they brought for lunch and what someone else brought for lunch.

When I started my first job, I was told by a coworker (who is now my BFF) that someone took a bite of her sandwich, then put it back in the fridge for her to find later. From then on, I never trusted anything in the fridge at work. Most of the people there were slobs anyway; which sucked, because part of my job was cleaning up after customers in the store's dressing room. Everyone is disgusting in their own way, even your coworkers that complain about gross customers. 😔

This is really funny but also it's important to note that the actors take pauses for the laugh tracks, so without them, the actors just seem like they're insane
The pause is obvious enough when laugh tracks are used. But other comedies of nearly any genre know to pause or quiet down for laughter even without a laugh track/live studio audience.
What the… What Kind of person steels food at work? I never recognized, that someone steels food at work… And I worked at 6 different offices in Germany. Is it a typical American issue?

maybe the failed to completely remove the laughing audio.. maybe they just tuned it down but some of the unhearable pich remained.. maybe very sharp ears can still hear the pich that was created by the sound effect
Friends was from the era of being filmed IN FRONT OF AN AUDIENCE. There's no way to remove them. The channel I'm assuming this is their OG vid. Just shortened the scenes by cutting out the laughing. If you watch closely you see weird editing that doesn't make sense. It doesn't flow right. lol
How is it psychopathic to be pissed and confounded that a person would eat someone else's lunch. My mind would be blown to if that happened to me and I'd be pissed.

Sociopaths are people who have personality disorders and extreme antisocial attitudes, wouldn’t really consider this situation a sociopath unless you looked at it from the angle of him being really quirky and antisocial, which he isn’t.
XxxX XxxX Smart sociopaths are CEO materials, they can appear charming and courteous and they often do, the only trait a person needs to be classified as a sociopath, is the utter lack of empathy for any other living being. A person who steals other people’s food is most likely lacking in empathy, thus sociopathic.
Psychopaths are good chameleons, they can blend in and appear charming and elaborate and you find them in the high sectors of employment. Both psychopaths and sociopaths have a lack of empathy and disregard for complying with the law. There are many other specific traits that have to be met in order for someone to be diagnosed with either of the two.
The video is so perfectly slowed down that it gives this eerie, serial killer feel to it. Also, David Schwimmer is such an underrated actor. His comedic timing is second to none. I don't think any actor on the planet could have pulled off Ross' character better than him..
