this channel is extremely underrated, very well told and edited. I never knew that there was so much conflict between Kubrick and Clarke, thanks for making this so cohesive and iteresting

Never would have thought they had trouble like this from Clarke's preface and recollection with Kubrik in 2001. Great video!

All was forgiven by Clarke when the big royalty cheques started rolling in from the book's sales.

You do such excellent work! This must have been an editing nightmare and I appreciate the final product. Very polished and great observations about Kubrick and Clarke

I've been waiting for this one for a while and I wasn't let down. Didn't know Clarke was that surprised by the movie. Kinda made me sad for him.

Brilliant! I'm very much looking forward to this Kubrick series. He seems perfect for your channel considering he based most of his movies on books, and preferred to work with authors rather than screenwriters.

tyhe book was written alongside the movie production, and clark had no idea what kubrick was trying to cook up - the whole aliens narrative is the simplest level of the story and not at all what the story was about - clark took the idea and ran with it his own way, but kubricks intention was entirely different

The film is a spectacle and production master piece. The novel adds depth and is more readable than the film is watchable.
