To Sarah’s point - In Mexico it’s traditional to use both of your parents last names. So everyone has their given name(s) followed by two surnames ( ex: Mendez from father, Gomez from mother). Also most women do not take their husband’s last name when they get married. When you’re being addressed for all things formal they mention your complete name. So it wouldn’t be strange :)

From a 21 yr old girl who just made a new friend in college this past year, I legit don’t know how I did it.. it’s so hard making friends as an adult. I only have that one friend, and two others I’ve had for 5+ years. I also can not make friends at work, because they’re all 50+ and act like 15 yr olds. It’s unreal.

The friends topic makes a lot of sense, because men tend to bond over activities, whereas women will hang out just to hang out/talk. So it makes sense that women might not want to answer “what do you do for fun” because yes of course we can have hobbies, but a lot of the meaningful connections we make aren’t centered around hobbies

Sarah! Drums can be self taught, just like piano! My friend can’t read piano music, she just hears songs and figures them out. But my other friend learned drums in elementary school. Sheet music and stick technique are the biggest two things to learn, the other stuff comes naturally if you’re not a loser

For the friends section, i feel like a really important point to tell if they’re good friends or maybe even level-headed people in general, is that they trust that you know what’s best for yourself rather than push advice or suggest you do something a certain way. For a healthy balance and respect within the friendship (relationships too) showing they trust you and that you can trust yourself, rather than implying they know better for you.

I’ve been friends with this girl our whole lives (age 2) and at 19 she did something where I told her before if you do this our friendship will be different and she still did it. Now I’m like well fuck I didn’t really have a plan except distancing myself now we live in different states for other reasons and we’re still friends.. friendship relationships are hard to navigate!
