My door or tub had swollen as to where I couldn't get the gasket in the slot. I took the front cover off the door (2 screws and slide down) then removed the door bolts from the hinges (2 each side) then was able to lift the edge up to see where it went and had room to put it in with no issues. Just put the bottom edge of the door with the seal in the tub and bolt everything up in reverse order. Done in 10 minutes after fighting with it as shown in video for a hr.

Sorry for previous mistyping. The trick is to tighten the SCREWS (not screens) on the sides of the door.

That was very helpful thank you.

We had the same issue with the gasket slipping off each time the door was closed. The trick (from another youtube) is to tighten the screens on the sides of door after the gasket is in place smoothly across.

My door makes the same sound as the one in your video. Is there a way to get rid of that awful noise?

Rub candle wax on the door spring links. Hold the candle on the link, open and close the door a few times. Do both sides.

Hi I have similar dishwasher. The bottom door seal is not cracked or damaged. But it is keep popping out with closing/opening of the door. Pl suggest the solution that will keep the bottom door seal inplace. Thank you.

It is the same for me. I think there is a problem no one is mentioning. The bottom door gasket slips into a "groove" - but the groove is made of rubber/plastic; and, on my dishwasher, is has completely disintegrated so there is no way the gasket can stay in place. I find no reference online to replacing that plastic/rubber groove on the base of the door that needs to hold the gasket seal in place. It seems no dishwasher repair people address this. (Sorry for the double post).

Not sure why the same door gasket just slides into the abyss with nothing to stop it

I just replaced the gasket in my dishwasher. It slid into its slot and stopped and fit very snugly. And it stopped the leaking! Maybe you had the wrong part for your dishwasher model.

I have Fridgidaire dishwasher PN FGID2466QF4A I cannot locate the door seal. It's like it isn't there. No noticable gap to place one either )as shown in the video). Am I missing something? Could my tub or door be warped to the extent that the gap is now non exisitent?

I also have the same issue, the gasket is not there, and there's no gap to place another one.

Same

See my reply to Dennis above. It's possible the gap between the door and washer has warped a bit and gotten narrower or non-existent. You may have to bend it upwards a bit, enough to get the gasket in.

I had the same problem--couldn't seat the gasket properly. Brennan's illustration (above) helped, but still couldn't quite get it in. Then I saw a second video demonstration on this fix--ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-HpjX5D7RPTY.html by AppliancePartsPros that helped tremendously. Also, with your dishwasher door open, kneel down by the bottom left side of the door (where door meets the inside tub) and stare down to the opposite end--the right bottom end. Examine the door from this side view. (You must look from the side angle to view and not straight down from the top.) That's when you can clearly see the "lip" that the gasket sits in.

I replaced this gasket a few weeks ago and the dishwasher was working fine. And now it's leaking again from the bottom center of the door. Does this mean I need to replace the gasket again? Or a different one? Help please I cannot afford a new dishwasher right now
@FixDotCom

Sorry to hear you are still having an issue with your dishwasher, I would be surprised that the new gasket would have to be replaced so soon as long as it fit well and went into place ok. Gaskets usually resolve leaks from the corners, a leak from the middle generally suggest a worn vent plate. A part that extends from the bottom of the door towards the bottom of the tub, its purpose is to allow air to move in and out of the tub from the machines wash action. When they get old they sometimes corrode or wear allowing water to push over the lip of the tub. To high a water level can also produce a leak in that front area. Sometimes on models with a vent in the top of the door get plugged up with stuff and if the tub can't vent it will cause a water surge. Have a look at these areas and hopefully the solution can be found. Good luck

I’ve watched this video several times. It’s NOT easy. In fact, I’ve been working on it for two hours with no success. It continues to fall out. And why is there a cut out notch on the right side. A lot of this video doesn’t explain. Certainly not a five-minute fix.

@@richjb54 So I took off the front panel and pushed along the bottom where the gasket goes in thinking it may have expanded somehow and also cleaned the gasket and now it hasn’t fallen out for a few weeks.

I agree that it's not an easy 10 minute job! None of the videos really show you where the notch slides into. I can't see anything that even looks like something to click into the notch.
