Frodo the Opossum Demonstrates Slubbing

Frodo says, "this is my log and I love it and it's mine." He says that by slubbing: licking and rubbing an object to scent mark it. Like other male opossums, he has a sternal scent gland to help him do his work.
We're excited to introduce our little guy to Nashville students in 2023.

Wish these babies lived longer, I remember their natural lifespan if not killed is only 2, maybe 3 years.

I read it was 2-4 years. Still too short. One lady on youtube had her possum for 7 years. Maybe good genetics? We know all of these people take great care and love their possums. Be well.

maybe so, the possum family in my backyard for thirty plus years now seem to average about 4-6 years but they are protected and well fed

He is ridiculous! He's making his debut in Nashville public schools this week, so kindergarteners can learn about how awesome opossums are.
