I've been using this product on my Springfield xdm .45 pistol for about a year & it works flawlessly. Like mentioned in this video just avoid using Froglube near the firing pin spring to avoid it clogging the spring & your fine, I used the Froglube solvent remover 1st to remove all the petroleum and it really left the parts dry & free of all petroleum, after drying I heated the parts using a hair dryer and applied the Froglube. Once dry I wiped all excess Froglube & did the Froglube application again, let dry, wiped down the firearm & stored it until I used it at the range & once the firearm began to get hot you can visually see the metal sweat the Froglube & even smell the minty aroma of the Froglube working. Once home I field stripped the gun & when you wipe it down with a cloth (i recommend micro fiber) it removed all the dirt & grime very easily, I then reapplied Froglube one more & that's it... a 8oz paste & 8oz bottle should last forever literally because you don't have to use this on a constant basis. I haven't used Froglube on my firearm in about 6 months & when I take it out and place it under the hair dryer you can still see the Froglube began to dissolve into a liquid.. This product is a must have if your a gun owner, it's worth the cost! Hope this helps anyone curious about Froglube.

$4.99 for a can of Ballistol vs $28.99 a tub (8oz) of FrogLube, very expensive but it seem to last forever. 6 guns and 2 yrs later but I have only used less than half of the tub. Yeah the initial seasoning took me half a day to do 6 guns but it was time well spent. Good video and instructions, FrogLube in my opinion is the best.

I also applied the product to my semi auto pistols. I may have gotten a little to aggressive and ended up with frog lube in the striker channel which caused light primer strikes and ftf's in a xdm-9. I cleaned the striker channel and reassembled with no further problems. I am now careful not to get too much product near the firing pin.

Great question! No, the outside of the slide doesn't sweat. I'll see a little seepage from the rails sometimes when the pistol gets warmed up. I take that as a good sign. It's lubricating. I've seen zero wear.

You've convinced me. I've viewed this video when I was first researching buying my first handgun (so I could properly maintain it). I am ordering some FrogLube tonight so I can treat my brand new M&P 9mm. My basement work area isn't well ventilated so having something like this is fantastic. Like the idea of using the FrogLube on the boresnake. Kills 2 birds with one stone. Liked your Tavor review, miss your handgun reviews. Haven't seen one for awhile. Always enjoyed them. Merry Christmas to you!

I finished an AR build two weeks ago. Went to a gun show and found Froglube and the guy sold me on how it works. Stripped down the rifle, applied the paste and put it in a warm oven for 45 minutes. Once I wiped it all down I could see an immediate difference in the metal. I also applied it to my Nickel-Boron BCG. the NiB coating was already slick but it much more so after reassembly. I'm looking to see the result after I pop its cherry on the range.

This is the most complete and articulate video I've seen on FrogLube. My experiences mirror yours although I've only had the courage to try it on two Glocks and you know as well as I do that they don't need much lubrication. I'm looking forward to more long-term feedback on wear resistance. Thanks a lot for a great video!

I ve started using it because having a all stainless 1911 is seemed really hard to keep clean, from finger prints from your oily figures my 1911 started to rust. I then heard about FROG LUBE and decided to try it on my glock first before my 1911. And after months of use I decided to try it on my 1911 and I am one happy camper. Not only did my rusting problem go away and is just so much easier to clean. I use it on the following firearms Glock, Sig Sauer, H&K, Kimber, Smith & Wesson, LMT CQB M4

Excellent review on Frog Lube; agree with everything you said. The only problem I have ever had was putting too much in the internal component of the slide of a H&K VP 9; my fault. I should have kept it out of the slide mechanism. It required disassembly of the slide and a deep cleaning. Since your video, Frog Lube has introduced a solvent & a super solvent ( they call Super Degresser, both are great especially in the initial prep phase. I have 53 pistols and use it on everyone plus I use it on all my knives - never a spec of rust & I live in Florida. Also concur with your observation on the carbon rings on revolvers & like you, hope that it will get better with continued application - use my revolvers the least, mostly for introducing new Shooters to the sport. Very thorough & articulate "How to" review. Also enjoyed your cold weather test with your AK. I continue to evaluate other products - Liberty Lube, Steel Shield, Breakthrough etc. & always return o Frog Lube. While it is expensive, a little goes a long way and in the long run, when used properly, it is as economical as any of the good products. Again, nice job, keep it up!

You're very welcome. I've come to use it on all my pistols, rifles, and knives. I was really impressed when I ran my AR15 through a tactical carbine course in the dirt and had zero malfunctions when many others around me, some with very high end AR's, experienced FTF, FTE, Double Feeds, etc. during the course. I never cleaned it or lubed it during the entire course and it ran flawlessly. I'm a true believer.

After viewing your video about a month ago, I treated my AR15 with frog lube. This product really is amazing. I was amazed how Iceland my AR was after putting a few hundred rounds through it. I treated it twice as recommended and although the initial treatment is a little labor intensive it is well worth it.

I know a lot of people that use and like Rem Oil. I've not had personal experience with it. It's a petroleum based product and one of the things I like best about FrogLube is it is a food grade, plant based product. Makes it much easier to handle the product.

I saw the risArms video also. I think it was fair and unbiased. The video showed me that if I leave any metal part of my P226 submerged in saline water for more than 7 hours without cleaning it, it will get rusty. Now in the real world that would never happen, but still good to know. Froglube FTW!!

I bought the Frog Lube liquid ,paste and solvent a couple of weeks ago. This stuff is great and slick as snot!! I do have one problem. My wife loves the smell so much,I had to buy her a small bottle of the liquid. Crazy woman puts it on her hands!! GEEEZ !!
@CrucibleArms
@CrucibleArms 11 лет назад
The solvent is only for significant fouling. I use it on the bore of my Mosin Nagant immediately after firing corrosive mil-surp ammunition. I also will use it on the bore of my 357 magnum as I use lead bullets. Otherwise, I just use the liquid for cleaning. I only use the paste for initial applications.

It's tough to apply in the cold as it does harden up in the bottle. However, I've had zero issues with my firearms in the cold. They work fine and the lubricity and other attributes of the product work fine.

New to handguns and had been interested in Frog Lube. After viewing this video I thought I would give it a try on my M&P22. I like working with the FrogLube. Ballistol works fine but the FrogLube is much nicer to deal with. Works great, smells MUCH better, and I don't worry about it getting on anything or it being around our pets, etc.
@CrucibleArms

I simply wipe down the slide and frame with a micro fiber cloth. I'll pour some liquid FrogLube down the barrel and roll it around to cover the interior of the barrel. Then I scrub it with a barrel brush that has a little FrogLube on it and then clean it with patches. I then lube what I would typically lube on reassembly with a very light coating of FrogLube i.e. frame rails and other friction points.
@TripleNickelGaming

metal does expand when heated. it also contracts when cooled. We use these principles to set bearings and things in aircraft parts for a very tight finish to hold parts together. I don't know how Froglube does it's thing but I know that Militec oil bonds molecularly to gun metal when heated and it works good. I am gona try the Froglube because the concept is sound.

I haven't had that experience at all. This past weekend I pulled out my AK47 variant and my FN SCAR 17s after they've sat all winter and took them to the range. They also have a degreaser and a solvent .I watched a video on how to use on an AR 15 .You first spray the solvent on, then scrub with a brush,then you mix the degreaser with half with water, then soak parts for 15 to 30minutes then wipe them off. The method You use seems to be ALOT easier.

When I detail strip the slide, I will use a little Hoppes inside the firing pin channel to clean. I do not lubricate the firing pin or the firing pin channel at all. It's the best way to attract contaminates into that area. It's not necessary, IMHO.

I don't believe I ever said you don't apply it to the slide rails. You don't lubricate the firearm during the initial two applications. You simply run them after wiping them down. During subsequent cleanings you lubricate your normal friction points with the FrogLube as annotated in the video.
