The thing that really hit home about it wasn't so much that it was a member of the Royal Family, but that it was something that was so unexpected, so out of context with what had happened that day. Because of the plan to dodge the Paparazzi being foiled, it left the driver of the car she was being driven away in driving very fast, slamming into a support column of a Parisian underpass. It was supposed to be a private occasion between her and Dodi Alfayed, but the Paparazzi had other ideas.
I was 11 when this happened. It’s one of the first big world events that I remember vividly. I remember sitting with my grandma, watching the news and her being disgusted by the paparazzi taking pictures of her while she was dying
Princess Diana stood for worthy causes that some would not touch. She was the people's princess. Very much admired and respected. Also, very sad 😔 on how she passed away. May she rip.

I will never forget that fateful day..a few days before my birthday.I was agin in shock as I was when the Kennedy's were assassinated, the space shuttle disaster. In disbelief ,shock..and yes it was the lack of respect and lack of privacy that took her life.So sad to see her two sons walk behind their mothers casket. Too much for two young boys to experience. What a price to pay to be in public eye. She will be forever more as a Princess of the people ❤..loved but not forgotten.
So sad to think how her life was stole from her and her boys. Even worse to know now how the Royal family was treating her the whole time. She deserved better. 💙
Epic mismatch in my opinion. Diana's father should not have allowed the marriage. Prince Charles should have known that he had little in common with her.
@@thenitenurse22 you would be surprised. The families were intertwined for centuries as Aristocracy for a start. Also The Prince and Princess had children together. And it is probable so did Camilla's lineage.
I stayed up all night with a bud at college to watch the funeral. Tried to get into the Ritz Bar in Paris later that year but it was off limits for a year because of all the lookee-loos at the famous revolving door where she passed through right before the crash.

I still remember watching Saturday Night Live when Brian Williams broke in with the news of her death. At first when he broke in I thought it was a skit, the way the timing seemed to fit because they didn't interrupt the show, the special report broke in after a complete commercial break. I thought at first they were coming back to the show.
How strange it is that so many famous people whom I admired died ever since 1997 but still to this day her death feels painful in a much more hurtful way?!
Our daughter was born Aug 3, 1997. Amy Jo was 28 days old when Diana was killed and I was CRUSHED!! I saved every magazine, TV guide, newspaper, from our daughter's 1st month and Diana was on the cover of everything. I'm so friggin MAD of what the paparazzi put her through! I'm an American but I've followed the entire lives of Diana's children, as if they were my own! Still DO!! You all were SO CHEATED!!
She was human. The royal family did nothing to help her. And not to say she was perfect. As she was wanting to be happy. They are no different than us. But we also have to realize they are not perfect.

Sadly as we know now Diana could not pick and choose in the paparazzi was to photograph her. The night that she died it’s been said by very good Source that she had let the paparazzi know her whereabouts and where she was going that was the deadly mistake
The MONARCHY also killed Diana when they canceled her economical benefits. Before that, she had always counted on her maintenance on behalf of the Royal Status. She needed Dodi, and as such, she no longer had the exact same protection. Alas! Dodi SHOULD HAVE OBEYED HIS FATHER AND STAYED AT THE RITZ! 😭😭😭

She knew that was going to be killed and so she was they treated her like a caged animal and very wrong, and she even said so in an interview that they had planned on killing her she didn't know when, I wasn't in the best of mindset and I became her ally just before she was murdered and never puts her in her in the same class as Jackie Onassis she wasn't a lady Jackie was a venomous snake. Actually it was the Duke's side of the family that encouraged the marriage. Lord Mountbattan (Prince Phillip's uncle) pushed Prince Charles into the marriage. Charles adored his great uncle and decided to marry Diana. Diana's dad wanted her to marry well so he pushed the match.
life is how you lived it. lady diana is a princess and her life was very short in a world were the bell shape curve says life expectancy might peak at 80. lady diana did not make middle age. her children have lived longer than her and they are an extension of thier mother. prince william followed the royal lead from his father and grandfathers side of the family. prince harry followed the spirit of his mother. and since i do not enough know much of the spencer side of the family. i will refrain on more. lady diana left the monarchy to be out of then marriage of 3 people after giving love to prince charming and producing an heir and a spare. the heir is a prince in waiting and the spare gave up royal duties moved to america. and now is thinking he wants back to favored royal highness status. he violated royal protocol. like prince prince andrew once you loose royal status there is no way back to retrieve royal status. once you leave the door shuts and god cannot open a window to get back in. sorry for prince andrew and prince harry. queen elizabeth did her best to hold her status as ruling monarch by removing gender from succession status first come first serve. the heir after prince william is prince george and the spare is princess charolette (SP?) and not prince louie. long live the monarchy.
