Great job fellas! Wet sand the orange peel with done 2000 grit wrapped around a soft flexible block. Then put some 1500 trizact on an interface pad on a DA. Then work your way up to 3000, 5000, then 8000 trizact. You will hardly have to cut & buff after that. Maybe a good polish but that's it. Again great job fellas. I just finished my Del Sol and am in the wet sanding process right now. Had to wait for the trizact to get here so I could finish it. Made a video on my car & the problems I had while painting it.
I am so glad that I subscribed to this channel, I followed this whole restoration from beginning to this very end, I got to say that you guys did a fantastic job on that Lancer, you gave that car a second lease on life, thank you so much for everything you guys did, I got kinda emotional knowing that this is the end of the Lancer restoration. Keep up the fantastic work.
Thank you so so much for subscribing! We are so glad you enjoyed the Lancer Restoration and hope you will enjoy future builds. We love to get positive comments like this so thank you!!
I really enjoy watching how you take a car that isn't very appealing and turn it into a nice looking car again. Keep up the good work. I enjoy doing fixing up cars from copart to. 👍
I guess the honest answer is because this was our first paint job and we was trying to focus on just learning and getting it right we didn’t want to take on the massive job of doing the jambs, doors and hoods.
@@SwampBoysGarage You both have an amazing father son relationship. I love my dad but to have a similar interest in a certain area I think deepens the father son bond I wish to have with my dad someday. Thanks Tyler and your dad for your amazing content you create.
Glad to see it almost done. Do a quick 5 minute update video when you get it all done and cleaned up without the cloudy windows and all. I'm usually not a wrap fan but considering what you started with, it's looking good.
Have enjoyed watching from Australia. Not sure if I'm a fan of the colour but if you like it go for it. All the clips are a pain and you need to keep a good range for all the different cars. But all in all it's always great to see another great Mitsubishi back to life and on the road. Great job.
The key to any paint job is prep, prep and prep, the better you get the surface prior to paint the better the finish will be, sand those plastics with 400 and find any areas that need work, fill with body filler and sand, then prepwash with wax and grease remover, then lay down your primer, give this time to cure i usually leave 24hours, then sand flat with 600 and lay down any black you like, if your going gloss then do that, any black works
Great video and great work! Loving ther series! Y'all have came so far! It only gets better! Support from across the river in East Texas. Blessings and respect!
It's looking good, I love seeing a car go from zero to hero 😎 Only change I'd make is wrapping the trunk lid, it'll make it flow much better. Great first paint effort guys!
Looks great! Good call on trying again on those mirrors with a sealer. Depending on the material and original condition, a adhesion--promotor can help too. SEM has some great products too. I think the color combo with the wrap looks pretty sweet! Great job guys! What's next?
That Mitsubishi Lancer is looking great and you guys should tint the windows and the whindshield tint strip as well and also make a video of that as well.😊
I have never had good results with spray can clear coat. The wrap came out nice as did the car. What was the mcguires you sprayed on the black plastic ?
It’s called Meguiar's Ultimate Black Plastic Restorer. We have the Amazon link in video description. It worked great. Just gotta see how long it will last.
@@SwampBoysGarage also they are like 5 deferent types of oem grills and 3 aftermarket grills for the front bumper I can send u images of the grills and headlights available and someplace to get them and for the headlights to
I appreciate that you guys are learning, but you need to heed the comments. It's disappointing that you don't, because you are going to have a ton of issues that people brought up in past videos. That car with the color change and ebay wrap is now worth nothing, compared to a factory color respray where it'd be worth $2-5k. You didn't remove all the rust so that'll pop through within a year, and I guarantee that rust will propagate under that wrap. You guys did so much, and if you listened to the comment gallery you'd have a good product. You guys chose to half ass it.
That would be a dream come true!! Not sure if we will boost it. A company offered to give us a free turbo but it’s an old car. Would hate to destroy the engine.
@@SwampBoysGarage it wouldn't. Just tune it properly and make it a cheap build that shows people you can do it cheaply at home. Keep up the great work guys
you guys have an email address that i can send you a few pics of my baby and you guys can also look at the fog lights as well, i feel it picks up the car even more
