So glad to hear Jack is ok Wishing ur family all the best Life throws so many cure balls our way, your positive mental attitude is an inspiration Stay Strong Bud Tight Lines Sean
Wishing Jack a full recovery soon, I'm sure he will be just fine. My son was 6 weeks premature at 3.5lbs, after a few early problems he grew up and developed like any normal kid, he's now 11 years old, makes a belting cup of tea and caught his first Bass on a lure last summer, it's all ahead of you mate, enjoy the fun of the family, fishing comes second.
Sorry to hear that James. I think it's a lot harder recovery in adults, as usually hernias are a result of ruptured muscle. Obviously we move around a use those muscles much more. I'd maybe check back in with the doc if you're still suffering after a year, maybe it's not healed quite right.
Glad the little fella is ok. I hope for a full recovery to the whole family. I know how frightening illness in very young children is. Tight lines mate.
I hope your boy gets better quickly. To answer your question about rod lights, I use a high powered cycle light with reflective tapes. Normal lasts 6-8 hours. Perfect for seeing bites when the winds against you and your rods are all over the place.
Glad to hear the little fellas op went well, hard not to worry when it's your sprogs but just think this time next year you'll be able to show him your boat, hope everything pans out well.
Bloody hell mate, the three of you haven’t half been through the mill. Do your best to stay strong, glad to hear he’s on the mend. Everything else comes a distant second. Some nice fish though 💪🎣🐟
That's not a bad call for fishing piers etc! I bought some of the wire railing rests things at the weekend and almost forgot to take them home with me 🤦🏻♂️
Pleased that Jack is doing grand. All the best to you all. Im heading over to Skye end of next week, and cant wait to wet a line. I like your light on the tripod personality. Take care man 🏴🎣
Good to hear the surgery went well and your son is ok. We are so lucky to have AlderHey with some of the best surgeons, doctors and nurses in the world. I owe them my world. Best wishes to you and your family. Greg
Haha its nice to sit and read the comments in all honesty. So many nice folk out there, it's good to see. And gives me a buzz to get cracking on with the next video 👍🏼
So good to hear jack is OK now, poor little man been through it. And mum n dad,, so stressful and worrying. Enjoyable session on Anglesey, P, s. Tripod light,, They don't fly off when you cast, or catch line or seaweed
Great stuff as always 👍 Best wishes for Jack and yourselfs. That mark is probably the first place I ever shore fished, my dad would pick me up from the primary school where you stayed and we'd have a couple of hours before tea. When you get a boat I'll show you my favourite pollack and cod wrecks, not been out there for a while because had to sell my boat due to health and skintness. All the best mate 🎣🐟👍
It's a nice comfortable mark Daz, glad it was recommended to me. If I eventually get a boat I think it will be stored on the island so I hope you still have your rods we can get out and amongst the fish.
Things will be fine my friend Hope the little one recovers fully . These are of course the most painful times to go through. God willing everything will be fine. Congratulations for catching 20 dogfish 😂😂. To be honest I've never eaten one but I've been told they taste very nice. I have made up a little set up in my car nowadays which means i can cook fish in the boot. Thanks for uploading your fishing adventures.
Thanks Mumtaz, he's doing great! I've had dogfish before but wasn't a fan. I later learned that they soil themselves. So, top tip, either fillet them right away or soak the filets in milk overnight to remove the ammonia. There are so many fish I'd like to try, and there will be some beach side catch and cooks later in the season I'm sure!
Fantastic to hear Jack is on the mend and no not a depressing vid just honest and real (pun intended :0)......looking forward to the boat am sure you are going to get lots more subs, just keep the clip as vidio evidence to remind the missus 😂..... I have a week off so planning going over to Ullapool area, will comment on your next vid and let you know how bad I did, at this point a doggie would be welcome 😂.... tight lines mate
Thanks, Ian! You missed the REEL opportunity for the pun, though 😉 Maybe if I just keep the boat stored somewhere, she would never know 🤔🤣 Good luck in Ullapool mate, look forward to hearing how you get on. While you're over that way, you might want to check out Armadale pier 👍🏼
Only now catching up on videos ..I hope your little one gets well soon and gets better and stronger each day ....I've always said to look for a posative out of every negative no matter how small ..it helps to balance things
Glad the little lads ok 👍🏻 Has to be tip lights for me. Down the reflective tape lights on the ground or nearby and glow sticks, but the rigshark lights work just right, especially if you have the bite sensitive ones.
Sorry to hear about Jack, but great to hear that the surgery went well. Wishing him a speedy recovery… stay positive, chap. On a lighter note, I knew where you were fishing from the very first frame of your video! I used to live in the houses at the end of the lane you drove down and fished that exact mark 50 years ago with my mates! Yes, you were over sand and doggies, pollock and dabs were the catch of the day when I was there as well.
@@theawfulangler I also used to fish the other side of the port with my then girlfriend’s father. At the right time of year, the mark was awash with herring! 🐟🐟🐟
Hope Jack has a speedy recovery bud. My son had same issue at 13 weeks and had the surgery, you now would never know at 12 he even had the surgery for a double. I prefer tip lights particularly the rig shark ones as they are super bright. Love your videos keep them coming.
Thanks Steve! The surgeons made it sound so common, but you never know whether that's just to make you feel better 😅 he's recovering well though I'm pleased to say! I think I'll end up getting both options in the long run. I did like the tripod light as rough as it was. I also think it will make for better footage than looking at 2 tiny dots on your screens haha
So glad to hear Jack is doing well. Scary times, but they’re strong and resilient. Before you know it, you’ll be bringing him on fishing trips. They grow up so fast. Tight lines. 👍😃
Bloody ell, rough ole wk , hope hes ok and out of hospital soon, poor lad. Im from anglesey, cemaes bay, some of the best fishing i used to enjoy was for the mullet at the wylfa power station out flow, good for bass too. All the best.
Hi Philip. Wyfla was one of the spots I had hoped to fish later in the week for those exact reasons. Still, plenty of time for that in the months to come!
Soo glad to hear the young man is OK. It’s understandable that u r a bit down but like you to stay you have to stay positive. Great vlog buddy keep it up and congrats on the 5k
Wow mate you have really had a rough week, i hope Jack makes a speedy recovery. Well done for sticking at it with the fishing, even though you had so much going on. Great video mate, everything will work out 👍 p.s give Rigshark tiplights ago.
It's one of those weeks to talk about in years to come, that's for sure! He's doing well so far mate, couple of follow-ups to come. Thanks mate! Rigshark will be the one if I go tiplights 👍🏼
Sorry to hear about Jack having the hernia Alex definitely not what yous need right now my son who’s 8 now had this operation twice once on each side it’s very common with premature boys it’ll be a walk in the park for the docs but that does nowt for your heads tho. hope all goes well! Best wishes Ivan🤞👍 Edit:- after watching end of vid fantastic news the little lad doing well!! Keep up the great work mate👍🎣🎣
Cheers Ivan! Yeah they gave us the choice to go back to Liverpool and have the op, or be referred to somewhere closer to home. But the whole setup in Liverpool, from staff to facilities, we were sure we wanted him to have it done there! Like I say, they make it sound as easy as making a brew! Amazing what people can achieve these days
Great vid, trouble with tip lights is you don't see slack liners, head light is best as if your not looking at your rods then you wouldn't know if you head s bite if that makes sence, all the best for young one👍
Makes perfect sense, Jason! I'm not sure I could be without something focused on the rods though. Without that you'd never catch that bite out of the corner of your eye
Hi mate , well done on your ray, and your right about keep using your local tackle shop. We lost another shop 2 weeks ago in G.Y. . Sorry to hear about ya boy hope he recovers well. All the best from GRIMSBY.
Cheers Carl, he's doing well so far! The old boy in this shop was telling me how much he loses on the bait, so has to rely on his bait bringing folk in to buy terminal tackle too. Its a tough game to be in, so we need to protect them as best we can!
@@theawfulangler the same at my local some weeks he throwing bait away, as it mite be slow, then when he ant got enuff people keep coming . He said he can't win. All the best to ya sen n little legs from G.Y.
Glad to hear Jack is OK and the mend, going back to lights, I use a bike like fastened to my rod rest, works great and it charges with usb, so if its running out I put it on a power pack. Sorted
sorry to hear about your holiday was cut short mate but as long has little jack is on the mend that’s all that counts all the best to you and your family pal
Thanks for watching! I was hoping to meet up with a few folks while over this time, obviously didn't work out though. Maybe next time we can meet up 👍🏼
@@theawfulangler yer that would be great , we can hit a few marks see if we can bring them in 😃 thanks for reply keep up good work and be sure to let us know when you back on the island 😃
I suppose catching those dogfish is better than blanking but only just, how did i know that at the end of the video you were fishing somewhere i could see it in your eyes ha ha ha. Glad Jack is feeling much better a scary thing when your kids are ill, been there myself as i said scary thing indeed. Take Care mate and Stay Safe. Barry (the Wirral)
Hi ha aqualungangler on my other channel yay a holiday to remember or one you will never forget. Hoping jack a speedy recovery quite a common happening with baby's one of my daughter's had one near her belly button. I get to spend many hours in hospitals I'm career for two very ill family members and as for the mental health yep totally understand been there bad not as bad after year's learning to cope funny old thing life. Be well mate
Certainly a holiday that will be talked about in years to come that's for sure! So far jacks on his 4th hospital in 4 months, a record we are hoping he doesn't intend to keep up 🤣
Wishing Jack a speedy recovery, hope you and your wife are staying positive, I only wish I could get the rest of the 5099 subscribers to support your family as you support us. Take care and all the best and thank you for all the videos.
Hope the little fella is doing ok sending him a speedy recovery. A great video again and congratulations on reaching 5000 well deserved. Best wishes to you all
And I hope all is well with you and your family i been were you are i served in the Falklands and my head was in a bad place but i got through it in the end
They eventually stressed they blanks in my opinion both tips eventually snapped at the rings, I guess and just my opinion when carbon flexs something piggybacked to the blank that isn't designed to flex or strain eventually causes a failure . A metal plate attached to a tripod and light with built in magnet seems a better safer option, there's lots of rechargeable lights on the market big in battery life and and small . Tight lines look forward to next video.
I thought Spider Crabs too before you mentioned them. If you've got shit lug then make a sausage out of them using 2 baiting needels, stops them becoming a ball of mess on the hook and maintains some sort of presentation.
Spiders then whiting then dogs I think we're the order of the night! I normally do lash then up and then use the top hook to keep them nice and straight. I can't say I was on my A game though on the second session. Having said that though I don't think presentation would have kept the dogs away 🤣
Thank god alls well dude, nice ray, target species is a bonus, as for lights bud I've only tried tip lights and rig shark been bang on for me, spot on for plenty of session up to now.
