B-Roll can oftentimes be the entirety of the editing process of a video, and many editors, particularly those new to the craft, don't anticipate this when they begin creating. This is especially true when editing a video whose primary content is talking head A-Roll; almost all of the editing will take place on Video Track #2/#3, which seems to surprise many people. It's a good idea to script your videos and make note of what kind of B-Roll you wish to include to augment your script. This is a regular practice in the professional industry, more-so than many expect.

StoryBlocks has been my go-to resources since I started the channel. And b-roll is something I use tastefully in the way you explained in this video. Just recently I uploaded a video that had alot of engagement because of how b-roll was set just right to help people understand what I was talking about. Once thing I found is that if I use b-roll together with associated sounds it takes the b-roll a step forward. For example if it's b-roll of someone driving I add road noise in the background and it really drives home the feeling of driving. It's pretty awesome how it works. Great video Daniel!

Daniel, I deleted my earlier comment and just realized it also deleted your reply and my reply to that. Answering your question... I like to think I'm a creator. LOL. I'm a retired guy living in Southeast Asia armed with a GoPro, 360 degree camera, and mini 3 pro drone while surrounded by spectacular beauty and nature. Friends and family try to convince me to start a channel but I haven't yet. I got good at Filmora and now on steep but interesting learning curve with Resolve (thanks to you). I apologize if I didn't communicate my original comment well. Thanks again for your contribution to the community!

So been following you for... roughly 2 months... maybe nearly 3(don't know... guess Filmora defines some things)... so far... you have commented to me... it was surprising... but I have 1 question... maybe nuanced to myself... maybe others have wondered... You clearly seem to be someone of the 80s impact... Being my main life growth was in the 80s and 90s... have you thought of(or maybe have) telling your viewers your own history and how one may reflect... know I have glanced bits and bits at your channel and it has filled me with different views... you fixed a problem I had... Only wish right now I could member... You are such a friendly voice... damn... getting emotional right now... In a day or 2... I am hoping to finally do something I have dreamed of for 30 years... not in the same aspect back then... but it was a driving force... Fragmented yes... just feeling random things... Sadly my Yeti Blue Died... but I think the new one from HyperX might be better... Any thoughts about HyperX SoloCast? I feel it is doing what I want so far and more so than the YETI!!!!... Yeti had/has some issues with... I think the word is ducking... That it goes out of its way to Silent some things it felt was bad but it actually just muted what it shouldn't... Going on too much... Good thing as... I know you 'clicked with me'... thank you... I would love to understand your full history particularly because I am Detail Centric... Maybe you have vid of your history... Ground you in some way... Either way... Your voice should be heard more... know your content comes up more from my following of vids... curious where you might go either way XD Thanks for a voice that at first confused me... but totally makes sense... 'I Hear myself in my Head... so I don't know what I sound like outside that'-paraphrase... been glancing at my thoughts and feel now I understand those words...

Thanks for the content Daniel. However, I think a key information is missing about storyblocks. What happens to your videos you published while you had subscription but let's say you canceled it a year later. Do older videos get copyright claims eventho you had subscription during that period of time ?

Daniel... do you have any videos that specifically cover "editing"? And I'm not talking about how to use the software, but the process you go through to decide what to film and why, and how you make decisions on where to put the clips on the timeline. at this point, I'm pretty well versed in Filmora (thanks to you 😊), Davinci, and even Premiere Pro. What I often struggle with, however, is the "creative" side of editing. Hopefully that makes sense. Anyway, as always, you're the best, my friend! 🫡

The simplest advice I tend to begin with is the 180° Rule and always maintain project consistency whenever possible. If you film in 10 bit S-Log, XAVC S 4K MP4 file format using the AVC/H.264 codec at 60 fps with a shutter speed of at least 120... and you keep your project at 60 fps at a bitrate of no less than 50,000 kbps while maintaining the MP4 H.264 codec, you should have incredibly smooth and crisp exports. It's when you don't pay attention to your camera settings, start introducing different compression codecs and coverting footage that you run into issues.

Why go to all the trouble of recording good audio only to ruin it.. with a mind numbing repetitive 🤬 I think educational content should in the main have no additional distractions.. Imagine going to a lecture and some MUZAK was playing all the way through! The occasional sting or piece of actual music to enhance or create mood is brilliant. As I said.. it's the creator's choice.. to alienate a percentage of the audience.. Add a continuous strobe for maximum effect and trigger epilepsy etc.. Just had a quick look at your channel..
