I simply worked in China teaching children for a few months and had no problem paying her bridewealth. My suggestion is "Pay per View". You get variety, no headaches, no divorce, etc. Honeymoon lasts only a few months and you are in "prison" for the rest of your life. "Pay per View" baby.

I just laugh at how people say marrying a Thai woman is expensive. My first American wedding was over $50,000, $15,000 for a diamond engagement ring, a new Porsche for an anniversary present and tens of thousands in jewelry and literally millions in homes and vacation homes. I think most of these guys are, like you say, low income guys and probably have no business being married. My Thai wedding was $5,000 and about the same for her gold. I give her family a few hundred a month. My income is significant so not a big issue one way or the other. 12 years later we are still very happy and she has been a fraction of the cost of maintaining an American woman. What I’ve gotten from her and her family in return cannot be measured in money. My American wife was a pain in my ass. And oh yeah, 32 years age difference. It’s just never been as issue.

He must have been pretty desperate regarding his choice and the expenses issues. Looking at his age if he is that set on marriage and he is tossing his cash around now what happens if his new wife falls pregnant? By the time his off spring gets to university he will not be able to support them and his child will be as uneducated as so many, many Thais. Not overlooking the fact he will be 66 by that time. As for the assumption that he has been married before is a stone banker he has. I cannot believe that the rigmarole is followed and the guys involved are so gullible. Take the US$50,000, buy a condo if he is hell bent on staying there and have a ball.

He is 48, she is 24. That is problem #1. When she is a reasonably healthy, active and energetic 50 and he is 74, there will be challenges...... Any man has to ask himself what motivates a woman to stay with him, especially when that woman is young enough to be his daughter. People's motivations change over time. At 48, he is still relatively fit, healthy and vigorous. He can still keep up with a 24 year old. He can compensate for the age difference with experience. When she is 50 and he is 74, he can't work, he's not so fit, she has her own experiences and she may still be able to find a younger, healthier companion.

A foreign woman with an age gap like that was my uncles mistress and she waited long enough for his wife (my blood aunt) to die and she moved in stole his , property, money, and he has less rights than a slave. Whats crazy is she did all of this without official being married. Just people believing her lies. Many of the old guys just dont get it. I thoroughly believe most people can't learn until they experience the pain.

If the cultural disparity is too large between the couple then the risk of the marriage not being able to sustain the long haul is pretty evident. Even if they they are able to sustain the long haul, still they will have to ask if the compromise is worth it or not? Too much compromise is never the ingredient for happiness. This must be understood.

My advice to any western man looking to get involved with a Thai women is to get to know her and her family very well before making any commitment at all. This should be a common sense thing but a crafty Thai women is very good at getting a western man to commit before he knows what he is in for. A good Thai woman will openly invite you to meet her family. Most importantly trust your gut, if it appears to good to be true it probably is. You will hear a lot of negative stories about Thai women but there are plenty of good Thai women out there. Just trust your gut and look out for number one and you'll be fine.

She thinks, I can do it like him lol. I earn good, but not like 10k a month like a doctor. Dear Sir, the moment a woman would ask me for such issue, also if cultural normal for her, I would withdraw without saying a word within a second. Such woman would be in less than a second fall down in all dignity to minimum to me. To dispite all that do what she ask for / or her culture would make me lose 100% my face (in my culture). To me, the only answer to such woman could be: "take care and stay healthy. I am leaving, bye". You don't have to fall into these traps if you know what you're doing. When you see the warning signs, just play them, have a good time, move on until you find the one that wants you for you. Most of them are pretty much dumb for the ones that don't have the right intentions, they will show themselves very quickly, you just have to see it.

Married decades ago. Father very smart and understanding, no sin sod, just a promise to him to provide, as we had barely enough for airline tickets. Over time, built them a far newer house, she obtained gold, not because the show off bs, rather to shut some others up. Far better to build and own a house and property than some gold, especially starting out.

$6,800 in gold, how much does it weigh? Gold is about ~$1,900 per troy oz. How much 24KT gold is this guy buying? Three troy oz, or one troy oz? If it's three troy oz or more, then it's not that unreasonable of mark-up.

I'm at a regular Thai girl not a bar girl. And we have been communicating for 6 months. But for some reason she found some of my post from line app to other Thai women. Let me tell you guys don't make this mistake. Not only did I hurt her with some of my comments to these women, but I embarrassed myself and actually hurt her. We have not yet met, but I do have a trip planned first week of November from the United States. It's my fault. However, if you do actually get into a relationship online or video chat everyday for 6 months like I did. Thai women are not dumb and social media is a big thing in your back pocket everyday. 11 baht is a WEIGHT measurement when it APPLIES to GOLD. That's why he said it is about $6,800.00 US total. If you divide $6,800 by 11, you'll get the price of what ONE baht costs US. That's why he tood her girl let's start with 2 baht. Good move on his part!

The problem is that a lot of these farangs go fishing in a lake where it's an overwhelming majority of sharks. What do they expect to catch?. If they want to have fun with a bar girl, go ahead. But don't get romantically involved with one. Don't give out phone number, don't use real name and see these specific women for what they are. The men I know who are happy with Thai women met someone closer to their own age, and the girls were the typical cute "gir next door" woman. Not some money-hungry skank from a bar.

I like that couple tho. They seem to have a happy marriage. They lived under poor conditions in the states and he could not support her. They went through bad times together but I do think that true love developed between them and that they have fun together. She is a supportive wife and he is very caring for her from what I’ve seen following them for a few years now. They actually a good fit imo.
