"I've got quite a few books by the late great Lee Kuan Yew -- I really enjoy reading those" Sam shares about his deepening connection to Singapore over the past 7 years. He reflects on the cultural differences between Singapore and the UK, his fondness for Singapore's efficiency, and the warmth of its people.

Wow, this guy is right on the money, very heartfelt story from a good looking English tennis coach. He really does come across very well, and looking at the short video appears to have the cake and eat it!! Keep up the good work son. Miss you xx dad

I arrived here in 1978 - "for 3 years" - and it is refreshing to hear these, still similar, impressions forty five years later.

As a Singaporean, I hate waiting behind a queue while the service staff chat unnecessarily with someone. Especially when I am in a hurry.

0:07 wouldn't Mandarin speakers in Singapore generally understand that "rou gu cha" refers to bak kut teh, even if the Mandarin term is not used often? Not sure what his wife is on about, unless she doesn't speak Mandarin (which seems unlikely).

Ya but sounds very “formal”. Maybe some elders are not used to it, especially the dialect speaking ones. 🤷🏽‍♂️
@anatoxal
@anatoxal Месяц назад
@@impopquizTrue -- but Sam's wife doesn't seem to be a dialect-speaking old person 😅 so for her to say "what the heck is rou gu cha?" (according to Sam's account) doesn't make sense, unless her Mandarin is non-existent.

You haven't met those people who are really bad at Mandarin? It's not even that uncommon.
@anatoxal
@anatoxal Месяц назад
@@Joe-gf6vn I am one of those people, and even I know what "rou gu cha" is. I guess what I meant to say is: it's fine for Sam's wife to not know what "rou gu cha" means, but it's not exactly true that "no one says rou gu cha" in Singapore.

🤣 while refreshing the Calculus, the general concept of limit. Hence, cut the lengthy unnecessary crap, we are after all, the finite creature with limit of money and 24 hours. 😂 Go where? need bag? da bao?
