Actually if you look up the numbers Christians are more likely to be in a gang or commit crimes and non-christians your Christ isn't helping anything that's just giving people an excuse to be terrible because God's going to take care of it

@@thebenplatt I don't want to speak for them, or get into their very personal details but I'll just say they each have taken a more secular approach to their worldview that doesn't leave any room for faith. I know the Lord can work mighty miracles so I continue to pray and have faith that they will gain testimonies again when they are ready.

The word Christian used in divorce from our sect implies mainstream, which is a place a large minority of exmormons go. Protestantism sort of melds together and then you got the non-denominational people, and what remains is our church and the Catholic church among a few others. Saying someone went from Catholic to Christian is actually a very apt way to describe the change of their beliefs and priorities. Likewise Mormon to Christian or if that thought inherently offends you let's say Christian to Mormon clearly shows the changing of priorities and gaining of additional truth. It stands to reason that the inverse, subtraction of truth and changed priorities, is also a worthwhile description to use. Unless you've got some spirit of discernment that I don't, give this guy the benefit of the doubt please. Assuming deception when there's an actual purposeful reason to use that phrasing or just an understandable mistake if that's still where you're gonna land is contentious, and I would almost call you to repentance for that. @@thebenplatt can't prove it to you, only you can find that out yourself. I feel it each time I read it. After watching this video, I started studying it all over again and I have felt the spirit flow more into my heart.

@@thebenplatt the workings of the spirit can not be understood by a canal mind, neither can it be by reasoning. I never intended to convince you but to share what I feel. It up to you to find your path. Only the Holy spirit can do the convincing and that can only occur when you open your heart to him. But if you look up to man like me, you will be disappointed.

​@@thebenplattBen Platt, prove Christianity then with objective reasons. It'll be difficult. Josephus's writings won't really help. Yeshua was a common name. Gospels don't agree and scribes changed them at least a known amount possibly an unknown amount of times. Ask very theologically literate Jews how to prove Jesus with the old Testament, and they'll probably look at you funny. I don't know why you'd disagree with the simple statement of there being power from reading the book of Mormon. Brenda never specified what power. You could have said the power was stupidity or confirmation bias. That would have been decently clever and only equally rude. No but these comments on comments is not going to be productive. In any case as an exmormon, you should remember the story of Alma the Younger (that's probably being shoved down your throat now). That's a good example of what the above person is saying. That doesn't get us anywhere in this conversation. I'm more curious why you left Mormonism but went to Christianity. What got you out of CoJCoLDS that took you to Christianity (best if you specify which denomination)? Did you even consider RLDS, FLDS or any of the other sects? Do you think Joseph Smith was led astray by a devil, in which case what's you're criteria for determining who was and wasn't? Only Smith has the handshake rule. Sure he didn't use it in the Grove, but that'd be a weak reason to pick someone else. Or are you just going by the Bible? That's dangerous. Just sticking to the Gospels, the entire end of Mark, a good deal of Gethsemane in Luke and some stories in John were all added in by scribes later on. Love Mormonism or hate it, but it's one of the only ones that acknowledges the corruption of the Bible by the adversary. Sorry for bombardment, and you might never reply, but I am just curious. Don't bear your testimony though, just explain reasons. I've watched exmormon Christian testimonies, and I don't find them any more compelling. Just explain some reasons please
