"These priests plodding up the mountainside are veritable relics of bygone times. There are now no more than 450 of them. They consistute the smallest and most ancient sect known to the world. They are the last descendants of the tribe of Levi, the Samaritans.
Three times a year, the whole community gathers on a mountaintop. Mount Gerizim, 40 miles from Jerusalem. There, as in the time of Moses, they pay tribute to the Almighty, the God of Abraham, for the Samaritans claim that only they have remained the true sons of Abraham."
