The Pastor Explanation: I originally bought this wagon from a Pastors widow who no longer needed the car. SME Merch! www.stevemorrisengines.com To Become a Channel Member - / stevemorrisracing
Thanks for being a class act. Not blaming others, taking it on the chin and still keeping it (mostly) language-friendly. Your persistence and dedication to quality is an inspiration. All the best to you and your family.
I have this Hot Rod Magazine from December 2006 with a little write up on you, the wagon at the time ran a 9.57 at 163 and weighed 4150 pounds!! Amazing to see how far you and the car have come.
26:00 The first S.M. video, I ever watched! Been watching, ever since. Spent, a few hundred dollars, on merch. I know, nobody cares!😃
Yes, the removable quarters are pure genius and uber cool, but for me, nothing beats the steering column. It makes me smile every time I see you unclip it and swing it sideways.
@@timtheveg WITHOUT THE " sheep bleeps, duck plucks and quacks, bad mother trucker mix ins, of course!!!! Couldn't have a pastors BLESSED CAR without a few "Scotch blessings" flying around when things go sideways!!!!
I started to watch this channel back in late 2021 and never noticed the improvements in video and audio quality until i watched this video. The channel has come a long way, and I'll continue on not missing a signle video
Strange how simply stumbling on your channel years ago just to see how far things have come since our days of drag racing back in the 80's had come, to watching every Steve-Tech video, to getting hooked on Dewey's adorable personality, to watching the wagon go through the evolution and buying some merchandise to help lessen the pain on repairing the wagon, to where it is today. It's been both entertaining and educational so thanks for sharing so much with so many; even those of us that don't plan on racing again, Steve. Cheers!
How time flies. The Old boost Master still rocks with Her SMX. I remember when you showed Her after the 9 years. She shined with Glory as She still does. Thank you for all the great Videos
You are 100% right about the bias ply cars being the fastest. What I see as the problem these days, is that those who put on the events, cater to the radial cars and it's all radial prep. Just look at the struggles Lutz had during Sick Week 2024. There should be more classes, even smaller tire stuff, that demands bias ply tires.
I have watched this channel so long I remember when you raced import and domestic and when the rods exploded I can't believe that was 2 years ago and when you had converter issues and checking the temps on them
That was a fun look back. A little over two years ago must have been right about the time I started watching. I think it was the Big Block for Mullet when I first found your channel.
Start to finish, Racetrack, Postings, the evolution is a pleasure to witness & by that, I also feel the inclusion aspect few offer upon their Channel...Thankyou..🛠️
*INCLUSION, thank you!* I haven't heard that word used in the moving picture show industry in decades; that feeling used to be the holy grail of production - from the Producer, Writer, and Director all the way through the Engineers, post production team of Editor(s), and ideally into marketing. Hopefully they/it will cycle back to that art instead of the cheap and easy trauma-drama (drauma?) that it's devolved into. Reminded me of my stint in it some 35-40 years ago at the cusp of crossing into all-things 100% digital. *Interest, Involve, Conclude* (ish)
Love your attitude Steve. Just keep it going forward, no matter what! You cannot rise to the top in any industry without running across a few bumps in the road!!
Steve: your attitude is something I wish to make my own. Always upbeat, taking the disasters one at a time, and constantly moving forward. I feel like I know you, and that is a major positive in my life. My drag racing days are over and am having a blast living vicariously thru you, your wife, and son!
I truly appreciate you showing the good and the bad. It shows the dedication, hard work & let's face it...some stubbornness. Big Fan & long time wagon lover.
It is great to see the evolution of the wagon. I know that you have figured out the brake situation. It would be nice if they made "emergency brakes" for your car. Might make it more dangerous in the long run. At least you did not crash. Good luck and God Bless.
I remember the Procharged wheelie wagon days well. But the Thanos Rod snap was one of if not the most impressive engine self destruction events. I know it's all part of the game and I'm glad you keep the wagon moving forward.
Props for controlling your language when you lost your brakes. That took a lot of self control! Kudos to you for not playing the blame game over broken parts as well. Race cars and or parts don't come with warranty for a reason, we push until we find their limits!
I love c where u started till now it is absolute the best. Love watching u I learned so much I would have never known. I just a self learned just getting my hands greasy
I've seen you run many years ago at an invitation only event here in Wisconsin. I was there watching Jim p who i was rooting for, his shop is two blocks from my house. You did kick his butt that weekend but that was great fun even if you're a Chevy guy. As a trucker your wife is right when you say mother t it hurts inside. Thank you brother for all the inside info I am enjoying the ride. 🇺🇸💯🇺🇲 Jesus is Lord
Love all the pride u all have in the evolution of this car.and to be honest it's grown on me .I do love this hotrod .I'm always excited to see the next video love the dyno stuff as well but nothing like the wagon at the track .
Always a great time, your videos have been getting better and better. Looking forward to the Brake video and of course the NMCA coverage. You're gonna have to step it up with Vals car getting an SMX soon, she's gonna be a real challenger for you.
Well brother after all the R&D youve done. You really haven't had to many pray to god moments .. Not a single rod still connected to the crank is priceless. I was going to recommend you call the pastor and ask him to say a few prayers for the ol grocery getter. 😅😅😅😅 Because shes had a few bad days that looked like Satan might of had his fingers involved. 😅😅😅😅🙏🙏🙄 But it seems your back on track now. You have the ol sled almost airborne now at 211 mph. Fastest wagon ive ever seen. Looks awesome Steve. Like the nice modification to the rear quarter panels to access those monster wheels. Looks like its no more tire shake. 💪💪👍👍 Great work. Great video. Can't wait to see the hydroplnes. Thats our sport. Used to be anyway. Costs to much to put on a race in Florida anymore. No one wants to make the drive. Used to set records here in stuart FL in the 70s . Packed crowds. Memories anymore!!
Great history video. Fills a few blanks for me anyway. Cannot wait for the cause of the brake fail and the effect of bigger chutes on the slowdown. Keep on truckin!
I only first saw the car on a drag and drive event where you stopped by kevin smith's shop to put a transmission in and did a burnout on your exit. GM guy's meet so many new friends during transmission swaps😂😂. Your name has been infamous with drag race engines since i was a teenager
Man for some reason I thought this was someone else’s wagon and story. I was so wrong. This was you an hour wagon and maybe the best video I’ve ever seen. He’ll ya guys
Very Cool Story. I agree with the Big Tire car and I won't say more you're brilliant at what you do and absolutely love you're content keep it up please Steve and know many of us love you and your Family and Friends. God Bless be safe
Hell ya!!!!! Im not a chevy fann but that wagon is so sweet! There are a few Chevy i like elcameno Monty SS old old Chevelle stuff like that but i really like that wagon bad asss!!!!!!!!!!!
Steve, I love your videos compared to guys like yourself. I am an amateur engine guy but I love what I learned from your videos and it’s so cool to see somebody like yourself humble enough to share when things don’t go good so we can learn from that stuff.
