Aggressive, flamboyant, devastating, unapologetic, punitive, graceful, explosive, scintillating, prolific, freescoring, incomparable, irrepressible, hard hitting .... one simply runs out of superlatives for this legend.
Unfortunately, this very attitude deprived him of a deserved captaincy which he lost to Steve Waugh who although an all-time great batsman was more concerned and calculative about results.
@@bdboy2871Waugh was an exemplary skipper without doubt, but there're skeptics even in Australia who firmly believe Warne could've made a great skipper too. It was afterall Warne's captaincy of Rajasthan Royals in the first season of the IPL, that too when he was 39 years old and retired from international cricket, which led the least fancied side of the tournament to end up being champions.
@@MuhammadAhmed-yy9es Partly true. India & England also. England controlled ICC in 80s and early 90s. India took over from mid-90s. Back then both these countries lacked great fast bowlers, so they made rules (& pitches) totally favoring batsmen. They made cricket a hitting contest. They completely ruined the fun contest between a great fast bowler & a great batsman on a bowler friendly wicket.
Brian Lara was the Cricketers mystic....majestic...... Off the charts...surreal.....took fans to a cricket parallel universe........unmatched....totally enchanting...Numero Uno.....🏏🏏🏏🎖🎖🎖🌏🌏🌏World class......
Lara is my favourite player and his batting style is unmatchable, its a treat to watch Lara playing against Aussies and Tony Grieg doing commentary.....
The greatest thing about Lara is that he ran one man show for west indies , Sachin and other great batsmen were supported by their teammates like Dravid, Ganguly, Azhar etc, but Lara always performed lonely while at other end no support. You won't find any other batsman who performed for years without any support.
Sachin didn’t get any support till 2001 and even after that there were plenty of days when he got out whole team collapsed … Sachin ran one man shows more times than any other batsman that has ever played the game … and also he was far more consistent than Lara in this regard
Lara and Sachin are exceptional players, quality for both batsmen are the same, but mentally tough player is always 'Prince of Cricket'. Results against mighty England are 375 & 400, no one will break these.
Brian Charles Lara ''as i think was a greatest batsman ever. ''His batting is like poetry having all the shots in dictionary. ''He sweeps, pulls, front foot, back foot all he uses like music. ''Standing ovation for this legend of cricket as i think nobody can ever match him. ''
No nobody is better than me . I am the greatest batsman of this world. I can easily hit long sixes to non experienced bowlers like Wasim, mccgrath, Brett Lee, steyn, akhtar, murlidharn, warne, malinga, etc.... But it is somewhere difficult to hit sixes to greatest bowlers like Malinga bandara, Nehra, Ashok dinda, Vinay Kumar, Salvi, Faulkner, jitan Patel, sulyaman ben, Monty panesar etc....
Just remember... when you compare two players , you compare the happinesses they have given you. And to say that the happiness a player has given is smaller from what other player gave , its a real real bad thing. Sachin was different and so was Lara. Sachin started his career at 16 and Lara did something as amazing as this too. Why cant we keep and cherish the memories they have both given to us.
Well said. Not everything is a contest. Both of those players were brilliant and wonderful to watch. Who cares who was better? It’s splitting hairs anyway.
This! Very tired of reading about the comparisons of the two best batsmen of this era. We should feel privileged to have seen both play in their prime. Well said.
"Not everything is a contest" - well said @superfly. The names on the back of the jerseys - The Waughs, The Laras, The Warnes...just need to cherish these memories they've all given us
Lara reached his 100 off just 97 balls. Team score 195/8 in 40.5 overs,i.e.,rest of the team scored only 94 in their 24.4 overs..maybe some extras too. So,ex-Lara the rest of WI was scoring at a rate of
Lara yes ... he has even proved it against Australia in tests ... Lara is a better player than Sachin ... Lara had the ability to dismantle attacks with glorious strokes... Sachin no doubt is a great player too
@@bilalashiq85 Check Sachin's record against Australia then. Sachin treated all time best leggie warne as a part timer throughout his career. Scored runs everywhere.
Our grounds are nice, but there are some iconic places around the world. Perhaps we all prefer watching away games because we don’t get to see them as often. Eden Garden, Lords, Newlands...some special places to watch cricket.
Andrew Symonds bowling medium fast with new bowl and then off spin with old ball. This guy was true legend of the game. Unfortunate his career was never the same after that Monkeygate.
Although Being a indian I support your statment harbhajan is a racist guy and he was a main culprit of monkeygate incident , even honourable sachin tendulkar was ashamed of harbhajan that he shared a dressing room with such a racist
His stance when hitting the ball and that initial little dodge he makes as soon as the ball is realeased gives him a lot of stability in playing shots even if he gets in to a stumble.Great stroke maker. AWESOME .
When Brian Lara strikes the cricket ball, it's a symphony of precision. The sound of impact of the ball on his blade echoes like a Mozart symphony, each note timed to perfection
I am a big fan of Brian Lara sir, the way Brian Lara played an unbeaten innings of 400 runs, he did not make a single mistake during his batting, neither a single catch was dropped nor there was a chance of getting out once
Remember this like it was yesterday, had it not rained and the mood & form Lara was in he'd have easily got us home given the tail enders stuck with him
I don’t have words to describe this mans talent ..one thing is for sure ,90’s boys will never associate or consider anyone with him .. simply class apart !
If there is someone in the history of Cricket game from the inception to this day whom you can watch bat 24/7 without getting bored is Brian Charles Lara.Flamboyance,Style is just.... Cannot be described in words.Look at those shots man..... Amazing!
If he have bats of today's quality and the amount of power he put on every shot then he must have cracked and brust so many balls in his career brutal force with so much class
I'm a big fan of kholi and rohit but I must admit Lara was a real genius he played against the best bowlers in the world now we don't have the quality bowlers that he and sachin played against would've love to see virat against them
Virat is a diamond . legend brother . Bring those bowlers even Virat will score century against them .I bet .Virats techniques , Josh , agression are his power
What a player!! Southpaw was Pure artistry with the bat 👌 Stylish & cracking stroke maker 🔥 He is along with the likes of David Gower 💐 Happy birthday Brian Charles Lara 💖
@@alarmed2542 you should watch Gower's batting son. They both are so different from each other yet very unique when it comes to hitting the cricket ball.
The greatest Batsman of my generation.... that 1999 series where WI drew level with the aussies 2-2 was the greatest Test series of my life. will never forget the little trinidadian ever
Taking a spinner inside out is a rare quality that's slipping out the game, due to lack of sheer quality against spin. It's one of the toughest shots in cricket, that too against Shane Warne. Lara and Sachin were probably the only guys who used to take him for cleaners that too hitting consistently inside out. Btw, that backlift and follow through is cathartic to watch. What a flamboyant batsman, this genius! ❤️
I Request ICC Kindly Give Lara Alias Of "SIR" . Cause He was One Of the Top Batsman and Every Time Almost his Carrier When Came for the bating Wi Was Desaster Situation and he played roll Like One Man Army. He Was More then better Suchin. Kohli. Steve Wagh. Ponting. dravid and others. his timing of the Shot extra ordinary Classical he played each and every Shot according to the ball. Really Deserve to Give Him Alias SIR.
I Been Watching Cricket For Last 25 To 30 Years And Yeah Old Clips Also But Honestly For Me Brain Lara Has To Be The Greatest Batsman Ever No Disrespect To Sachin Bradman Sobers Viv His Style His Timing And Always Played For His Country
Watched viv and Lara , while viv was a force of nature no-one could tell me Lara was the flashiest prettiest Batsman to ever watch . That stance and backlift and the way he play spins is just magnificent to watch
I love Lara. But sometimes its crazy how centuries that Lara made during losing causes are referred to as 'defiant tons' whereas centuries Sachin made in losing causes are referred to as 'selfish tons' by the same people. There should be a consistent policy. Tons made in losing causes like this one often show greater character because you were able to play the bowling when most of your other team mates fell like nine pins.
@@harrisazizmazari1697 Lol child go who scored most runs in world cups we're it matters the most Also Lara avg is low compared to Sachin in cricket both in test and odi and so does ponting
@@singhisking768 telling sachin better than Lara on basis of average than I think sanga kohli smith are better player than sachin as they have better average than him
