Jhonty Rhodes Was The Only Player Who Inspired the world to lift their Fielding Bars Higher 👍 And Show The Value of Good Fielding in a Match 👍..love u Jhonty sir ❤️
He is single handly responsible for the high fielding standards we see today. He made fielding stylish and important specially when fielding was not even taken seriously.
South Africa in 90's use to be very challenging team.....jonty use to hunt down key wickets in crucial time with his extra ordinary fielding skills..... He is True master for today fielding developments
1. Jonty saved boundaries by excellent fielding. 2. Took wickets for the team with amazing runouts. 3. Saved more runs just by his reputation as the batsman would think twice before taking that run when ball was near Jonty. 4. Made quick runs in the middle order. Best reverse sweeper of the 90s. Absolute LEGEND of the game!!
@@timothynicholls8637 yes can agree with this, Andy was a great player representing a terrible Government. In fact the 90's Zim team never could realize its potential.
@@memeguyTM nicest way was Zimbabwe current cricket is a show of how government intervention can ruin something. I'd actually like all but south Africa to come under one cricket government body. (Like West Indies) until a side could do it (compete and governed) themselves substantially
@@timothynicholls8637 I can understand why you say that. The ICC have spent a truck load of money on Zimbabwe, Kenya, Uganda, Namibia and a few others but it was all wasted. It would be beneficial for Zims domestic teams to play in SA leagues however the problem is there is hardly any support for cricket in SA itself. Yes, the national team gets T20 crowds and the India tests are pretty full but domestic cricket is not doing well. In fact the Lions, Dolphins and Knights have run at losses in each of the last four years. SA cricket is only strong thanks to the old cricket schools that exist.
It's unfortunate that Jhony existed at a time when he couldn't be filmed in HD and ultra angles. Would have been smashing awesome to see in ultra high ultra slo mo..❤️❤️
@Crazy Cage first of all please avoid cricket.....it has already made you a crook....and i am afraid your condition will worsen if u continue to watch cricket.....for example u refer short leg as shirt leg....
@Crazy Cage also you are talking ahout moustache's role in making a cricketer a good fielder.....really bro seriously avoid cricket! Cricket has made u a freak.....go and play or watch ludo😄
@Crazy Cage nope that was an immediate response of what I saw.....I can't see anyone giving complete wrong opinions about cricket....I feel it's my duty to correct them.....but if they can't understand even after all that.....I finally inform them that cricket is injurious for their health!
He was the one who changed the whole fielding style, and also made teams realised how important point fielding position is and saving runs makes a difference
One of cricket's all time greatest fielder I have ever seen.... jhonty ur legacy still continues.... Thanks for making our childhood electrifying with ur fielding, catching......
Lance klusener Kallis Darryl kullinan Alan donald De villiers Pat symkox Shaun pollock Hansie cronje And many more.. They all are legend Jonty rhoooooooodes
Hands down the best fielder of all time! Us the 90s kids all were his fan. And that South African team....Donald, Kallis, Gibbs, Klusener, Rhodes and Gary Kirsten. It's so sad that they never won an ICC World Cup!!!
Being a proud South African, all I can say is Thank You India for supporting Jonty and ABD and other SA legends like Lance Klusner and Alan Donald the way you. You're absolutely right, they were and always will be our Glory Day's regardless....the 90's....bring them Back !! They single handedly changed the game of Cricket globally through bringing about their own skill and excitement to the Game !!!
For all of the superb fielders today, Jonty set the standard for all of them. I remember watching him as a boy when other cricketers were stopping the ball with their feet! I’m thinking of Inzy and Ambrose in particular.
@@wahabkhan9319 ironic is that jhonty himself in an interview few years ago said that Suresh Raina, an Indian fielder, is his number one fielder. And coming from someone like Jonty is a big thing, sadly Pakistan hasn't gotten any kind of fielder like that.
How can this clip not include inzy's run out from 1992 WC. That was the moment when jonty announced himself in the world of cricket. To date he is the best ever
Awesome compilation !!! Great Job !! Jonty .... Just insane to hit the wickets on all attempts. Wow. Wow. Just mesmerized with his prowess. Our Jaddu is also best indian fielder. Watching his runout throws is a feast too.....
Even after 100 or 200 years from now type on RU-vid best runouts and catches ever I m sure RU-vid will recommend jonty Rhodes videos 🙌🏻🙌🏻👏🏻👏🏻 he will remain the best ever when it comes to fielding 😊👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻master class
@@yakshrajsingh8121 I didn't live during his playing days but when I look at the historical rankings he had a top ranking of 8th in odi which is obv pretty good
Dear Jonty you are Great ....No one will be just like you...You are special one in this earth. Salute you from the depth of the heart. Brilliant fielder ever in the cricket history.
In my childhood I only wanted to become a fielder like jhonty. Not a bowler not a batsman nowadays I'm being known for a good fielder.Jhonty is my all time hero.
JR is the only 12th man to have in any dream team. He always saves 30-40 runs and affects at least one runout or unbelievable catch every innings! Most useful team player.
Hands down the greatest fielder to have ever stepped the Earth. None to match him or even come remotely close to him. Absolute Legend! Loved by all here in India, and a world that tries to emulate every bit of him, but we all know that can NEVER happen! Total respect Sir!
Feel so privileged now, that I grew up watching these legends in action! Man, those days....nail biting moments...mixed emotions...love for the game....! Incredible past!!!
In those days fielding isn't taken seriously. But Jonty out of passion and pure skill have set an example for generations to follow. In a job, Exceeding expectations is one thing, but setting a trend and changing the dimension is another thing. Jonty is a true legend.
My favourite fielder of all time. He was pure joy to watch. There was no bragging, no sledging, no over the top behaviour... the guy just loved to play.
There will be a list of great batsman & bowlers but when there will be a list of great fielders 'Jonty Rhodes' would be on top. He set fielding standards very high.
The Legend who set the benchmark of fielding. Fortunately or Unfortunately, no one has come close to him yet, not denying there is no great fielder but He was on some other level if we consider his timeline.
