lots more progress on the front end of my 1,500 horsepower big block turbo drag truck! Today, we're working on the upper control arms correcting a camber issue, as well as putting new bushings on the lower control arm. I gotta say, I do enjoy fabrication and this project.

What I love about your garage videos is that you have much less tools than I do and can do five times what I can. Which means is not the tools that’s limiting. It is the passion and willingness to just get to work. Love it.

@CTemple82 Год назад
I know there’s a lot of fab tools you would like to acquire in the future with more shop space, but for now a 360 degree tube sander attachment would really come in handy with all the tube work your doing, especially once you start to build the cage.

you know, something I did on my old Ram was pushing the rearward UCA mount all the way in and pulling the forward one all the way out. Ended up with barely a change in camber, but much more caster, which is what I wanted at the time for how I drove it. don't know how that'll affect drag racing, but it's something to consider.

When you started on the upper control arms all I could think was why not modify the frame. I've always seen the upper control arms moved upwards on performance oriented builds(caster gain benefits?) I don't guess your going to be auto-crossing a 5000 lb extended cab full size truck, Even though I'd like to see that. Always putting out quality work friend.

There is a very important reason why the outlet on a filter body is smaller than the inlet. It is to prevent the collapse of the filter medium. The idea is to reduce the flow across the element at maximum pressure differential. Otherwise the filter medium may not capture it's rated filtering size particle as the pressure drop just allows debris to pierce the element. It can also cause the filter to fold on its self even in extreme cases tear. The filter medium will have a maximum rate of media it can properly filter given its surface area. To achieve a bigger flow rate at given hose size and still keep the filtration rating a greater surface area of the filter media needs to be exposed. This will also reduce the pressure drop across the element and enable it to deliver it's rated filtration. Fuel Filters can be tricky as the pressure drop can fluctuate dramatically according to injector demand as well as regulator response time. Just a heads up really...

Awesome work and great video LT! What do you use to keep poly bushing from squeaking? Years ago I put Energy suspension bushings in the upper & lower control arms on my GM IFS truck but went back with OE rubber due to the very annoying squeaking. - I hate to be critical but safety is worth it. Welder pro tip: when you crack a gas bottle open stand on the opposite side as the regulator and use your closer hand to crack it open. (In video your regulator is on left side so stand to the right of the bottle and use your left hand) In this manner if the regulator blows out your body is not in the line of fire and your arm helps protect your face and vital organs. I want to see you continue to pump out great content and not be taken out of the game too early by a regulator.

Your budget person needs to turn loose of some money so you can buy a second grinder, so you’re not always changing from grinder to flap disc. Also a solid mounted vise would be nice. That this flopping around in the receiver hitch mount would drive me crazy. Just busting your chops. Keep up the good work!

@ryurc3033 Год назад
I have seen plenty of half ton trucks with 6 lug, but 3/4 ton spindles, brakes, diff, even the 3/4 ton transfer case. I always heard it called a "heavy half"( pretty sure that's what he is sourcing parts for). Also the escalade all wheel drive diff is as strong as you would ever need, seen it used in the 1500- 2000hp zone without breaking.
