The car that got turned looked like it was going to go airborne for a spilt second

Yeah. It looks like someone got caught up underneath the rear of Majeskis car and it lifted the rear for a little bit. Luckily it didn't go over

He done a good job keeping his composure to not embarrass his sponsors but that's what were for we can call the guy that spun him an idiot

That was about the worst start of a race ever.

You probably aren't old enough. The 1973 Indy 500 and the 1982 Indy 500 wrecks, and the 1972 Indy 500 late green flag. It wasn't exactly the race start but the 1971 Indy 500 pace car crash was also pretty bad. The race started OK, the pace car crashed in the pits after pulling off the track while the cars were on the first lap.

I lost a lot of respect for the track after this mess. They publicly came out and said how they didnt like Ty's previous starts but were happy with that one. For being one of the biggest races of the year they tried turning it into a WWE show.

I grew up at this track. It's one of the most dangerous short asphalt tracks in the country. I go to races every Friday and every snowball. Have the past 24yrs. I've seen even big names in Nascar flunk there. Tony Stewart, Jeff Gordon, Hailey Deegan, Dale Jr, Bubba Watson, Joey Lugano. Even biggest names in nascar fear this track and its because of how steeply angled turns 4 and 1 are. The most steepest angled short track in the country. Even people like Dale raced here and the track beat him

Wow, iRacing graphics get more life like with each release. LOL I was in a race just last night (iRacing) where a guy was moaning about the leader maintaining pace until the green dropped. I've also been in races where the leader took off one second after pace car exits. I have spectacular reaction time; if I can be in 2, 3, 4, or 5th starting position, by turn one, it is only me and the leader diving into one. Then, much like this race...I'm punched in the rear... I agree; there should be a start/restart box.

Damn, minimum weight in all race cars should be without the driver! If a driver weighs 300 lbs. he should have to drag that weight around the track too...lol

@John LaFever exactly. Casey is a fantastic driver, not a 'beginner'. And it's understandable you said the 18 - Casey had been in that car for a years until just a couple of months prior to this race, when he used a Donnie Wilson car, 22.

Very does he have a Chevy logo on his suit, but a Ford oval on his race car? Isn't that a contractual thing?
@chadrobinson2195

Its the suit he wore at the last Trucks race which was in a Chevy. As he isnt sponsored by either in LM he just left it on.

The rules states that the leader will steadily increase his speed after entering the restart zone. Majeski was doing it more NASCAR style and firing off all in one go at different spots. While I agree with Majeski in that they should use the more traditional, NASCAR style restarts, the fact is the rules state to do it the other way. You see where I was standing when I shot this video... so I got to see him do it several times. In the end, I think Majeski is the "should've won this" driver of this Derby.
@danielvining
@danielvining 4 года назад
@John LaFever Correct. Ty also said that's why you see Bubba Pollard choose the high line on restarts there so much. In the end, the rules were written a certain way and the entire field had that same set of rules to go by. This, that, or the other thing doesn't matter. You gotta play by the rules that are there or don't play. That said, he can lobby all he wants to have the rule changed for the next time.
