As weird as this sounds, I feel strangely emotionally attached to Elegant for some reason so seeing him win makes me feel so good, and seeing him lose just feels devastating. I think it’s partly because he looks a lot like my younger brother, and also because he was the first player that Beefy Smash Doods ever signed back when they were still doing esports. I’m sad he didn’t stay with them, but I’m glad he still makes a splash whenever he shows up to compete.
Aeryk_Angst oh word? That sucks. I wish they’d stuck with it since I was really hyped for them. I’m super happy that Elegant got picked up by another team though and that he’s kept competing. I know a lot of people were on that Esam hype train for a while (underdog story), but I’m an Elegant loyalist. I won’t be satisfied til I see him place top 3 in a major.
It's so strange how much the crowd loves Elegant. I'm a massive Elegant fan myself and he's probably my favourite player however, it's difficult to explain why. I mean, Elegant's good, but he's not quite at the upper level of Smash Ultimate, being around top 40 most of the time. He also plays such an unorthodox character, which also reflects his own position on the PGR in that Luigi is a good character, but he's not quite top tier, and is somewhere around the middle of High tier. I think what makes him such a crowd favourite is how much emotion he puts into the game. When Elegant wins, you really feel like you've won with him, and when he loses, you're also devastated to see his run end. He feels like a player whom you're journeying with, and you're just waiting for the day when he finally reaches the top.
"I mean elegants good, but he's not at the upper level of smash ultimate, being top 40 most of the time". Smash ultimate - *player base of 6.6 million* *NoTtOpBeCaUsEhEsOnLyToP40*
@@joelg3038 Well, there's an obvious differences between if Elegant went up against your average player and if he went up against, Nairo, Maister, Tweek or MKLeo.
@@koelee He recently beat light, the best fox in the world, he also beat Esam the last time they played, he's pretty damn good, but get taken out because of match ups
@@podina3005 I would agree as well. In 4, I would always wait for the Cloud to get limit then start combo'ing them instead of stopping them. I always liked fighting Cloud using Luigi and Lucario.
I noticed that Elegant would go straight for cyclone whenever Kola would get below him and up air, and it was crazy seeing Kola get that read and up smash below the platform at 16:12 (unfortunately hitting with the sour spot). That was the one time this whole set I was able to predict something, and to think that players at this level are making observations and calculated guesses every second is just insane.
They should make limit last 30 seconds. Joker gets Arsene for like way too long and its a much better powerup. Cloud gets better movement and 1 better special move that immediately gets rid of limit and it lasts only 15 seconds. Having it last forever isn't balanced but i think 30 seconds is fair
demrifnoC itanimullI they nerfed arsene as when u hit joker the meter goes down real quick Cloud can charge his limit FS is more like an item or meant to be OP, which is why it lasts long
@@smashssf2_ssbc15 You right. Lemme correctimify my previous statement... How to Luigi (pick one at random during any movement option): - Fireball - Press z
Ugh, Kola had that game 1. Well I learned that tornado has startup invulnerability... Wonder if Kola would have been better off with Roy. It's really hard to readjust to Cloud's recovery if you've been using another character the whole day. GGs boys.
that very last interaction, if he drifted away and up b suicided? of course hindsight is 20/20 but i couldn’t help mentioning it couldve been a possible tragedy
Could kola have up specialed at the end there and gotten the spike? Or would he have died first? Also, a well timed fair could have also done the trick
These commentators keep talking about that SD on Kolas first stock. I wouldn’t think twice if I missed a wolf flash off stage and suicided a stock at that percent.
If it really is just reactable and true then I'm sorry but that's stupid. Luigi gets mega carried by his touch of death confirms. Elegant is an amazing player but I hate Luigi in this game
It's di dependent and like BARELY reactable so it's really tight but technically true at some percents with any DI, I would guess elegant gets it like 70-75% of the time. I think there are percents where it's true on di in but not di out tho
@@eonamiella2124 I don't see any other Luigi's in this tournament; its always Elegant carrying this character. Luigi gets lots of help with his invulnerable cyclone and his touch of death and his super quick tether grab; but Elegant is a master of the neutral game and adapting to this opponents while also being super aggressive in the advantage. Kola kinda fell apart after SDing in game 1 1st stock when it looked like he was just killing Luigi with every interaction. The gimping of Cloud and his weak smash attacks are what really kill him in the meta for Ultimate; unless you are at the edge near the blast zone; or near %160, even with Limit, Cloud just doesn't get many realistic kill confirms in his tool kit to be a real threat to the top tier players/characters that have bread and butter kill confirms/setups/combos that easily deal with what Cloud can do offensively.
