I'm really enjoying this build! always loved volcanic orb but never got to make a build around it. I've got 2 big idols that increase orb damage, and also reduce that speed, so basically it's just a stationary orb now and it just MELTS monsters, and is still very good aoe One question though, I havent picked the node myself, but you show in your video you use "critical mana" node in mana strike, but the idol you use disables critical strike?
Nice to hear! I am a big lover of D2 Frozen Orb and it took me a few tries to make a really viable with Volcanic Orb build in Last Epoch. I tried the Void version with the unique spear but it was meh. It lacks crit nodes in the skill tree to make hit-based viable I think. Ignite is good Yeah I mention the double idol stationary thing in the video, it's actually the best setup for single target because the explosion ground overlaps a lot more (and more shrapnel will hit too). For clearing I find just one is a bit comfier And yeah that node is a mistake I have fixed it at some point but might have been after I posted the video. I honestly don't remember what I put instead I'm binging new PoE league rn :)
@@Vikfro Excellent guide. Because of singularity in the planner, multiple options open up. You could take Reclamation, convert to cold damage via Frigid Grasp, max out sprite blade, or make mana strike a ranged attack. Though that would make mana strike for mana go down significantly.
@0rcd0c Hey I have not played frostclaw builds but from what I know frostclaw is probably quite better for single target (so for pushing highest corruption possible too). However I think it has a way worse clear. A big difference also is that you don't get a 40+ mana skill on frostclaw IIRC, so you don't apply the tons of spark charges (which also apply frostbite themselves) I think my build should be able to farm 600+ corruption with BiS/almost BiS gear. I'm away from home this week and will play PoE after, so I can't prove it tangibly unfortunately Keep in mind frostbite dps is also dependant on the % of damage on the tree of the spell used, directly comparing number of frostbite stacks and dps of one stack is not accurate.
@vikfro Have you considered Vial of Volatile Ice for the catalyst? I have been running with one that has +freeze rate and +cold res to sync with gloves and I am finding it hard to swap out for an exatlted chronolabe. Thoughts?
hey there I did think about it I was using it for a while on my Frosbite tornado shaman. I haven't crafted any though but it's definitely a viable option if you get some of the same stats I listed on the chronolabe! If you get another good offhand you can compare the frostbite DPS in your character sheet in game. The vial's chance to frostbite on hit is a plus but we already have a ton from the gloves, armour shred conversion etc. so It's relatively not a big increase.
@@Redkatt-ft7hl yeaaah we get tons of frostbite stacks especially with spark charge procs applying more. I think Ignite has less DPS but can get tankier with more manastacking. For example using Transient Rest boots

@@zikcman alors moi j'ai changé de monolithe dès que j'ai tué le harbinger pour aller au suivant, c'est super chiant de recommencer à 100 corruption à chaque fois mais tu peux utiliser les glyphes of envy et les harbinger needle pour aller plus vite. t'as aussi de la corruption bonus en fonction de la corruption la plus haute que t'aies atteint je sais pas quel est le plus optimal entre changer à chaque fois ou grind 300c sur ton premier mono mais en tout cas le mieux c'est de stack plusieurs gaze en tuant le boss de ton monolithe avant de faire orobyss pour monter la corruption. les nodes éloignées te font monter la stabilité plus vite et chaque gaze donne +12c quand tu tues orobyss. orobyss éloigné a aussi un bonus de corruption

thanks for the guide and your effort. but infernal caster has no effect on frostbite. it's hit only. i also suggest not to take explosive ground and tectonic orb aswell. you can pick volcanic acceleration or idk shrapnel frequency stuffs. it would be higher dps output i think. it's so cool btw.
Explosive Ground apply frostbite on hit so it is very worth building around it, especially with a slowed orb almost all explosions will hit a single target! It does increase the mana cost a lot though, so you could go for full cooldown reduction and shrapnel but I prefer my way.
@@xomabg you use one passive point in the Mage tree, I don't remember the node name but gives 20% freeze rate and converts both Volcanic Orb and Lightning Blast to cold. No need to waste a skill point!
