I'm really glad with how Frostfang turned out...Getting a little tired of each new monster trying to one-up each other and be Dark Souls style bosses instead of Monster Hunter monsters. If you take him lightly, he will wreck you but if you prepare for a good fight...You'll succeed. And it also pays if you know how to fight Barioth in the first place. So much fun. My low-power new character that hasn't hunted Safi, the metallics, Furious/Regular Rajang, Raging Brachydios, or Alatreon finds this boy a good challenge but still succeeds because of my own knowledge and prep. I never feel like I have no power in the fight...Instead, I feel like a proper hunter.

I can’t help but wonder why they’d release him AFTER alatreon. Cool monster but nothing’s hard after alatreon and his weapons and equipment would have been helpful.

After alatreon, i was expecting “Beat barioth in 5 minutes or your console will be lit on fire and your bank account will be suspended” Instead i got a washed out wrestler that enjoys elbow drops too much

I'm glad its a redemption story from "slap skin to bone/steel". The armor skill is also so sweet. (It's just me or frostfang barioth is not actually that hard? *just an opinion)

The Frostfang Hammer is the sexiest thing in the game, slapping that onto my Safi hammer for sure.

His armors pretty fun for hunting horn, I'm having fun merging it with teostra for that masters touch and the slugger combined

The female alpha helm is the most alpha thing I've ever seen. And I love it.

Made a hilarious set with it that ends up with Stamina Thief Secret and Slugger Secret both at max. Its super fun to play XD Frostfang Helm Frostfang Chest Frostfang Gloves Savage Jho Waist Savage Jho Legs Aquashot + Deviljho Essence. Razor Sharp Charm Need to experiment with the Alpha set pieces to see if i can squeeze more in via decorations.

I'm using this for my HH build, to get that swag horn slap.

Just switch Brachy arms with Frostfang a arms on the Frostcraft TCS meta build and you're good to go for a Frostcraft/Punishing Draw Greatsword build.

I'm glad is just a regular monster with no stupid gimmick and just a couple of cheap attacks. A monster that you can hunt with randoms and have fun.

Female B set is so beautiful, the helmet looks like an anime character.

"I prefer the beta armour." Boi not for the females. I wish they'd bring the layered armour to Master rank cuz that beta ff barioth armour is meh. But that alpha is just so freaking badass. We need more female armour like ff barioth alpha.

Even without Frostcraft, this set seems to do fairly well for an Iai Longsord setup. Just wish I hadn't gone broke trying to upgrade it, I swear the upgrade cost is way higher in Iceborne than any other MH I've played. As good a reason as any to start using Bandit Mantle again I guess.

As a GS main, I can't wait to play around with this. Punishing Draw/Frostcraft was a fun build to play around with when Safi came out and awakenings allowed to play around with the combo. This will make those builds so much better and allow for use of way more weapon options. Not meta but fun and effective none the less (especially for solo play). Incredibly safe and effective against monsters like Kirin or Rajang. Just have to figure out which piece will mesh best with the Velkhana armor now. It is in kind of a weird spot as it will probably be a Crit Draw build meaning the pieces with Crit Eye don't add as much as they do in a normal build and the waist is out as it would overbuild on quick sheath with the other Velk pieces. May very well be the chest piece that works best... Perhaps some hybrid build with 2 points Crit Draw and the remainder of the affinity from elsewhere... Unfortunately, I won't be able to get on to try it all out until next Thursday. Also very excited for the future addition of layered Master Rank Armor as this set is beautiful as well as the concept of Velkhana Gamma Armor which could actually be pretty game changing with some decent skills on it. I can only imagine AT Velkhana will be added at some point despite no hint of her in the road maps.

This thing is easier and more fun then normal barioth. NORMAL BARİOTH JUST SPAMS FLY AND SLİDE ATTACKS

if you use beta velkhana head, arms and legs and use a GS with velkhana divinity, slot the chest with alpha ff barioth and waist with alpha alatreon, and put on an agitator charm you'll have 7 attack boost stock, 5 agitator, 3 dragon res, 3 crit draw, 2 divine blessing, 1 quick sheath and flinch free to work with with plenty of jewel slots remaining to build a very good critdraw GS build with. 4 level 4 slots, 2 level 3 slots, 2 level 2 slots and 2 level 1 slots.

This set is perfect for sns. Just a few shield bashes and bam instant K.O.

I'm so happy they fixed the HH and Bow designs with FF Barioth. Now if only they'd use these models - along with Raging Brachy's - and fix Barioth and Brachydios weapons while they're at it.

Is it weird that I think Frost fang is easier than regular barioth? I killed him 4 min faster than my fastest with regular barioth.

I loved the Beta Helmet, just figure out to put 2 Brachy pieces, teostra technique and lv1 bonus from Barioth with Safi weapon, pretty happy with it!

The last time I saw a non-Elder Dragon wipe people out this fast, it was Bazel in vanilla World. Half the people run this quest like the Gods & Goddesses that they are and finish it in 6-10 minutes. But the other half? East Bumblefuck Bumblers that it actually loops back around to hilarious.

Frostfang Barioth will be back after those two weeks. Iceborne is celebrating their 1st anniversary after this one, and the event quest will be returning for the next three Seliana festivals, so you got plenty of time to farm him.

Hey Arekkz, I’ve been kinda confused for the past few days cause I’ve been trying to figure out if slugger can apply to the Phial on swaxe, been looking around and I can’t figure it out

Instantly build a new Switchaxe and Hammer set with his pieces, and while i don't use any of his weapons, his Hammer design is freaking godlike. That 4-Bladed-Axe-Mace will never ever leave my layered weapon slot again.

I made a KO build with 3 FF 2 teo and safi bindaxe with exhaust phial and it's ridiculously fun to use! The mon is either paralyzed, exhausted, or on the ground for the majority of the fight

I've been using the one set bonus as a Ls with velkhana's four set frostcraft. Iai spirit slashing for days xD. Not exactly meta but fun af.

I'm trying to figure out where barioth fits in to current sets. I almost feel like the armor and weapons should be buffed? Why is the set rarity 12 as well as the weapons ? Why isn't it like Raging Brach?

I was dissapointed at how easy he is to defeat. Furious Rajang, Raging Brachydios, and Savage Deviljho were much more difficult variants.

I didn't see the point of using the B arms, legs if you have to add in all that Slugger back in. Where, if the A is taken, you can fit in whole new talents as we B the rest of it.

Is punishing draw good for long sword?

As a hammer bro, I am ecstatic I don't need diablos parts mixed in anymore (or to swap between fire and ice resist) but one thing worries me, this armor seems to encourage LS users to utilize the stun capabilities of the draw and attack the head with me, LS mains out there, please respect our slam jams if the monster is down let us handle the head! Thanks!

4 piece Frostcraft + 1 piece Punishing Draw it works for gs too, now you get added stuns for more openings to exploit

using 4x Velkhana and 1x Frostfang on a greatsword can give up to 500+ damage on draw attacks
