Trixie's death in her cart off-screen is kinda heartbreaking

Celestia: *can control the sun.* Ponies: *dying from frozen wasteland.* Also Celestia: "Train go choo-choo, Luna."

The fact that Trixie died alone is depressing but not surprising, she was alone for most of her life and died the same way. also starlight pounding on her door just reminded me of walter white knocking on jesse's door "JESSE WAKE UP JESSE"

I too legit thought the audio WAS the actual trailer til the narrator mentioned 'equestria' and other pony FiM terms really nice jon always love the animation

The thing that moves me the most is that the end credits part really filled up some gaps in the video game. In the game, you can check on your workers' and engineers' names and idea by pointing your mouse at them------but these names and thoughts don't mean anything. It's just some random people you don't know and some phrases that are more or less depressing. But here, it's the ponies we know and love. Someone we actually care about. So when they suffer, we actually feel the pain. It's easy to have fifty random Richards to sacrifice themselves in the coal mine. It's way harder to tell Rarity to abandon sweetie belle and do so.

the saddest part of this is that Vinyl Scratch and Trixie Lulamoon freeze to death

Damn the part where Octavia lost the picture of Vinyl and her together it really tugged at my heartstrings.. they are one of my fav couples ;-;

This story as a concept is far more interesting to me than Fallout Equestria. It fits well in the universe since ponies are already fighting against and controlling the weather.

You know, in the beginning I actually forgot that the narrator is supposed to be Trevor Rain's voice. He sounds really close to the real deal~ Though, I didn't see Somnambula pushed anyone forward though despite what the narrator said lol. Also, waiting for the download link, Yud! Dang, the way this was all formulated a d how much effort was put into this really made me feel some heavy and strong emotions in this! Just everything in here in general is so freaking good! Between the very fitting narration, fantastic representation in the animation, perfect songs in the track, everything; Ahh it is just one heck of a masterpiece! Great job to everyone who made this video possible! Best 4 and a half minutes spent watching such high quality work!

I wish we had more animations like these. Less random and light (they're good in their own way). More dark, subtle and full of their own form of weight whether with character conflicts or just worldly challenges such as in this video. Sort of emulating some of the adventure or grand narrative stories I like reading in Fimfiction.

After a few years I returned here to rewatch this masterpiece and wish luck with whatever project the authors are doing now!

what's sad is seing the little one's thoughts/descriptions, applebloom hoping things will go back to normal, not realizing that this is going to be the normal for the rest of her life, sweetie belle dreaming of sunshine and warmth, something until now she hadn't realized how much she treasured, and Dinky hooves worrying about her mother's mental health, knowing that deep down she is only wearing a mask to try and keep everyone else's spirits up... just hearing them makes me feel depressed, and knowing just how much loss and sacrifice was had to get them here, and how much more will be lost in the weeks to come just based on my frostpunk experience the first time... you guys did a great job... but at the same time you did too good of a job lol... i feel depressed XD

This actually went pretty hard and I wasn't expecting it, ngl. Nicely done.

Wow! This actually sounds and looks like the starting sequence of a game. From the animation to the narration, everything was done quite well and the final product is cool to watch. I also liked how people involved in the animation were subtly listed among the names of the other survivors trying to make a life at this new location.

I think this one deserve at least 1 million views. For it's characterization, animation, narration and plot. One of the best MLP crossovers.

This is one of the things I love about this fandom. How they ignore the fact that in the world of MLP friendship solves everything, and use that world and the characters in it to create their own dark and deep universes with so much emotion in them. This is a really great animation. Hope to see more like this in the future /)

Seeing Vinyl die and Octavia grieve over it hurts a lot more than it probably should. The “Alone in this world” at the end genuinely almost makes me cry.

There's something beautiful about it. I mean this combination of genres: a bright good cartoon and a dark and cruel story of survival in conditions of despair and frost. If fans of ponies are good at something, it's in such projects. You are not afraid to go beyond the original and this is great.

Here's my story on why things turn this way: Spoilers? In the original game, the reason it became so cold is because the sun was dimming. But of course, that would be generic so I decided to "ponyize" it. One day, the temperatures slowly started to drop. But no one really thought about it, since it was November anyway. But somehow, the winter became "harsher." Some ponies were confused, but no one really did anything about it. *Until ponies started dying.* Many of our beloved ponies froze to death, and some even lost their loved ones! There wasn't an explanation to this, *Until the Windigos appeared.* "How could this happen? NO ONE WAS EVEN FIGHTING!" As it turned out, the Windigos found another source of energy, rather than hate. They got their power from oxygen, hydrogen,and other gases from the atmosphere. The princesses did EVERYTHING they could, even attempting to use the elements of harmony, but it wouldn't kill them, it would just drive them away temporarily With nothing else to do, they located a functional heating generator far from ponyville. The decided to send all the ponies over there since it was the only way from them to survive. Twilight agreed to lead the ponies, as the princesses needed to go underground so they could research a way to get rid of the windigos forever. They said: "We promise, we will find a way to help you all, and to end the cold winter." "We promise..." Even the journey wasn't safe, as avalanches fell and killed even more, but the rest had to go on and get to that generator. It was their only chance for survival. Luckily, most of the ponies reached their destination. Their goal now is to expand, build upon the generator, and expand the warmth. But most of all: *Wait until the princesses finally fix it.* ... However, with everyone paranoid, depressed because they lost their loved ones and so many of their friends, discontent rising over Twilight's strict rationing and laws, *There's a chance that they might fail, and the city falls.* But, The city *must* survive. www.fimfiction.net/story/423866/the-city-must-survive My story is slightly different from the original backstory, but this animation is inspired from that fanfiction, so it could be different.

Did anyone notice spitfires face after she saluted rainbow. That was the face of someone who knows death is at the door. I felt that same thing once. I was suicidal though. Better now, thankfully. I felt her reaction to being left behind in my bones.

This is a fascinating concept. It's actually inspiring me to make a Fanfic based on this universe. In FIM fiction, the emotions and the fact some ponies died are just heartbreaking. This really could use fanfic. I may try and make one once I get more practice in writing. If I have Permission to use this idea in a fanfic, I would much rather get permission from the video's creator. But I really think this deserves one.

And this is why Hearthwarming remains so important!

Watching this gave me the strength the beat this game on the hardest difficulty. I would love to see this in a sequel animation style like the sims animations. I’m invested in this game and the animation shown. 10/10 I would find this if I wasn’t broke.

The crazy thing is this could be a thing. Like a scenario where Tirek is steals all of Celestia's and Luna's powers before being defeated. And with no control over the sun or moon anymore, the sun is now too far away from Equestria while the moon gets too close, causing the temperature to start plummeting rapidly, until everything is covered in snow. Those pegasi who didn't escape above the clouds are now trapped as the clouds now covere Equestria like a blanket and are so cold that attempting to go through them would mean instant death. The unicorns of Caterlot did their best to counter the cold with objects enchanted to produce heat, but the temperate dropped too quickly, there are not enough enchanted heaters, and even those they have feel like they are less and less effective at driving off the cold every day. But there is hope. Engineer Earth Ponies from Manehatten designed a technological device that could tap into underground volcanoes, similar to a water pump, and bring their heat to the surface. The small scale test models worked, so Celestia and Luna gave their approval to create a larger one. Teams of Earth Ponies, Unicorns, and Pegasi were sent out to find a suitable place to construct the Heat Extraction Redistributor, each with all the parts they'd need to create one. They even found one and began construction. However, the exact location of the site is unknown. Or if the team had built the device. Or if it had worked as so many had hoped. But that doesn't matter now. Time is running out. They need to find HER. Equestria's only remaining hope for their future. For without HER, they have none. If anyone wants to make this the premise of a fanfic, please feel free to do so. Just give me credit and post a link, because that is something I'd love to read.

I bought this game after seeing this video and have been playing it ever since. No regrets.
