I played Edna recently in Hairspray, and we had 5 shows, I had 6 dress changes, and one quick change during the show on Welcome to the 60's. Well just about every night something didn't go right on the quick change but nothing too dramatic and noticeable. Well the 4th show we altered the dress so it would just be velcro on the back to make it easier. Well my velcro failed on stage while I was dancing and the whole back came undone but I just played it off like it didn't happen

Yeah thats how they do it at Disney World but they do it wayyyy differently at Frozen on Broadway. Way more foolproof and flawless and it looks way better, probably more expensive though

People don’t get in trouble for things like that don’t worry. Mistakes happen ALL THE TIME in theater. When I was in 6th grade I tripped on a curtain on opening night and almost ripped it down. I was not expelled or anything.

There's actually a bunch of times where that happened! It really isn't a big deal, you can see sometimes where the person playing Elsa doesn't even attempt it for some reason. There's been plenty of times where the transformation was light, just didn't work, or part of the original dress wasn't covered. It's a very common mistake that's bound to happen eventually, it isn't taken too seriously. In this case it was the most obvious transition.

B.a_Lopez I saw Frozen at the Hyperion only a few weeks after it opened, and they were singing "do you wanna build a snowman" and in the middle of it Anna just walked off stage, the show stopped, and there were no more shows that day.

This could've occurred due to turn table issues. Maybe she had an ear piece in and she did what they told her to do or she figured out that the door wasn't working and walked off the stage. That door has to be able to turn for various reasons. If their big turn table isn't working there goes the show. I've seen the characters that are supposed to fly in the air not do this. Two were able to disconnect and walk off the stage in a hurry the other one was left behind and needed crew's help. If you've seen the show you know what I'm talking about.

Probably not for a long time, the Aladdin musical lasted around 13 years and then replaced with Frozen.

Moana is pretty big for this... The sceneries and characters are kind of hard to translate into a live play. I guess that was the reason why 'The Little Mermaid' struggled on Broadway - they made a lot of changes to fit a colossal movie in the format of a play and it didn't go well. :( But if Moana ever gets a live version, it would be magical! I would love to see it happen!

I was in a church play. And we had these huge fake trees that weighed a ton. I was on the floor pretending to be unconscious. When I had a scream that wasn't in the play. I look up to see one of the trees heading for my face! I instinctively reached out, grabbed it, laid it beside me gently, then went back to playing unconscious! 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣

yeah, that's how performers are trained, they have to keep going no matter what happens, so if she had fallen when she was struggling with the string, assuming she wasnt badly hurt, she would have to get up and continue, and not be treated for injuries until after her performance

If this is true she got fired because she messed up the song! She was all over the place note wise, screamed the high note as she definitely didn't hit it and was sounding flat. The dress wasn't her fault she did what she was supposed to do and it didn't work at first but she got it to go down like it was supposed to do.

I also can't believe she got fired. Like you said, this is a costume problem and I think there are enough people working backstage responsible for those things. Here at Disneyland Paris they have the Mickey and the Magician Show, where they also have a Frozen sequenz with a costume trick like here and I saw something near to this happen there too.

Yeah, seems like she got late in grabbing the string. You can see her quickly move her hand as the light fades and she remembers.

The string actually broke. She did what she was supposed to do. It has actually happened several times since then with different Elsa's. It was not her fault at all. Just a wardrobe malfunction. They changed the style of the dress to stop it from happening.
