Elsa: Standing frozen in this life I've chosen Please, don't find me, the past is all behind me Leave in the snow, let me go Anna: No, Elsa, wait, don't go! Elsa: I'm just trying to protect you! Anna: You don't have to protect me! I'm not afraid! Elsa: What do you want, Anna? Anna: This. Just you and I talking and chatting and taking up space And you, you look so at peace, which I did not predict after what all took place I'm so sorry, I didn't know, I couldn't see I knew you were hiding, but selfishly thought you were hiding from me That's why I've come all this way: to look in your eyes and say I can't lose you, not again I can't lose you like then If you could see yourself the way I do Then you'd see why I can't lose you Elsa: Wait! I'm happy you came but it's not safe to stay here and talk Don't get close! This is all so brand new, let me first learn to crawl before I try to walk I'm at home here, out in the cold, up in the air But it all turns to chaos near people I love and, with how much I care, Please, don't remind me to feel, believe me, the danger is real Anna & Elsa: I can't lose you, not again I can't lose you like then Elsa: You don't know the things that I can do Keep your distance, 'cause Anna & Elsa: I can't lose you Anna: You have to listen, I've come here to tell you That everything's different now that I understand Elsa: I know you mean well, but the air's getting colder Just leave me alone, let me get this in hand Anna: But I'm here for you, we can fix this together For once try to trust me, I'm begging you now Elsa: Don't you see I'm the storm and you make it worse? I would fix it, but I don't know how Anna & Elsa: I can't lose you, try to see Anna: Why can't you turn to me? Elsa: I'm trying to tell you that Anna & Elsa: I can't lose you like before Elsa: As much as I wish, I can't open that door Anna: Why can't you open that door? Anna & Elsa: If you loved yourself the way I do Then you'd see why I can't lose you
I agree, when I saw her live, she almost sounded bored. "Let it Go" and "Monster" felt really quiet, understated, and safe. A lot of her riffs and choices seem to be based around making the song easier to sing rather than being character motivated. I don't need a ton of riffs or over-ornamental to have fun but she doesn't seem to have any effort or enthusiasm when she sings :(
@@tylerscrivner7784THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I FELT: she just doesn’t have that star power you would expect for a role like this. She’s perfectly lovely but nothing exceptional
I just saw her about a week and a half ago and that was the most powerful performance I have ever seen. She must have definitely changed within that time because every time I heard her voice I got chills. She was absolutely perfect in Dayton.
IVE NEVER SEEN A VERSION WHERE ELSA GRABS ANNA! Nearing the end Elsa touches Anna but Anna didn't freeze. Omg its like they cracked the code to the cold thing but didn't know. Usually for this song elsa doesn't touch Anna one bit but omg I got the shock of my life when Anna didn't freeze
The Carolines (Anna and Elsa here in the show) recorded one and it was released last Friday! ru-vid.com/video/%D0%B2%D0%B8%D0%B4%D0%B5%D0%BE-mZK5xfMQIAs.html
it's probably to avoid copyright strikes, being a Broadway show, there's a large chance if it had been labelled honestly it would have been taken down, hence the thumbnail and title
May I ask... does anyone know how Anne gets struck by Elsa? Because, I'd like to know if the tension/suspense is still there like in "For the First Time in Forever (Reprise)" or if it is more 'accidental' Edit: and how it looks/played out?
Anna got strucked while having a conversation with Elsa after this song. I don't really remember what they talked about but their conversation made Elsa lost control of herself just like in "For the first time in forever reprise" and the way Anna got strucked is very simple. Anna was holding a fist full of snow sprinkle(I don't really know what they call it) before the accident happened, then Elsa tossed her hand with some lightning running on the background, Anna spreaded that sprinkle and fell down.
They made it more accidental in this version, Elsa has her arms out and she just shoots out a wall of ice and it hits anna. Kind of lame though after the huge climax in the song. It kind of seemed like the whole song was for nothing, they should have put Elsa shooting her in the song instead.
It flows a little more logically: After the song, Elsa declares that she's happy alone and won't be coming back to Arendelle. Anna tells her that she has to come back to help because the kingdom is frozen. Elsa is surprised and upset. Anna tells her she must have the power to change it back to normal. Elsa gets more frustrated and upset...turns to Anna...and shouts, "No Anna! I can't!" That unleashes her powers and Anna is struck.
As much as I love this song, I think they should have went with "True Love" instead. It's a great song but I think they could have used this 3 minutes and a half of time more wisely, they're basically just walking around in a circle singing "I can't lose you" a lot. It would have been better if they kind of mixed in the reprise of First Time in Forever in it or Anna could tell Elsa about frozen arendelle during the song and then at the climax she hits her with ice
