Can I make it through the month of February on a No Spend? These ladies are helping to inspire me: www.youtube.co... (not Princess LOL) www.youtube.co...
I think I’m going to give this a try. I think I might of already started this last month. I swear when our winter is over I’m going to try and sell or give a lot of my stock away. I’m not using some of it at all. Good luck. Take care.
I cannot thank you enough for putting this video out! First of all, I want you as my best friend. You are adorable, sweet, honest, very funny, creative, charming and wise. You made me laugh out loud in a room all by myself. Second, YOU HIT HOME WITH THIS ONE. I started crafting about 3 years ago and jumped in with both feet, a bank account and a savings account! I cant seem to stop buying! Frugal February is just what I need to get back on track. Like you said, “I am an adult.” Thank you so much for this wake up call. I cant wait to see your follow up videos throughout the month💜
Thanks so much for your lovely words ❤️! I think we can all do this, even though it's not exactly easy... I have seen (or thought of) at least three things I "need" today! 😂 I do NOT need them. It's pretty annoying to have to say "no" to myself but it's going to feel great at the end of the month, when I see how much I can put into my savings. 😊
Thanks so much for the mention. I have just completed a no spend January but had two fails!! Best of luck with your frugal February. You demoted Frugal Queen in France to a Princess 😂 Isn't Amazon clever, getting us to put things on a wish list? You laugh at the budget binder, but I use mine and find it extremely helpful so maybe keep that ....
You're welcome! Poor Frugal Queen - I did correct myself in the link 😂. Amazon are brilliant at making us want things but that said, I love Amazon and their brilliant service. It's not their fault I am weak 😂 I have made my own "binder" - believe me, it's already like a branch of Paperchase in here ,😉.
I like watching The Minimal Mom on RU-vid. She’s been decluttering for years and says her and her family’s life is so much easier with less “inventory” to take care of. I’m always inspired by her videos. Happy Frugal February to all of us. p.s. I like your tattoo!
Hi Val, it's lovely to see you! I'm joining you for frugal February and decluttering my craft room. I've been good about putting money in savings because I need to do some home renovations-but keep buying craft supplies, kitchen gadgets, etc. that I don't need. Very proud of myself for resisting fabric, fancy scissors, and a Japanese cutting board today.
I'm glad you posted this video. I almost forgot that I was doing frugal February also. I just wrote everything down that I bought in January, and it is more than I spent on my utilities, gas for my truck, food for me, and my pets, and other necessary living expenses. That is it! No more Amazon, Zulily, Temu for all of February. Val, if you can do it, I can do it. Keep us informed on your progress.
I was sick in December and missed Christmas but am getting better slowly. I spend a lot on craft supplies that just sit there. I'm going to throw out, give away as much as I can and save a down payment for major dental work I have to have done. You've inspired me. Blessings xxx x Grambo
Sorry that you missed Christmas ❤️ I have just been tweaking my list for a "Decluttering Your Craft Room" video, so it might give you some inspiration. One of the things I will need money for is another visit to the dentist 🙄. Not fun and I couldn't get on the books of an NHS dentist, so I am having to pay for private treatment. Still, after Frugal February we will be minted (meaning rich) 😁
Start by removing all the 'useless' objects from your a Amazon wish list. THEN before you actually use your money to buy something, especially online, put the things into a basket, or a wish list .... and then walk away. Think of this as the equivalent of window shopping. A few days later, go back and see if you still feel that same compulsion to buy. Repeat as many times as you feel you need until you REALLY have to buy ... and then stop. Ask yourself a few questions .... will you use it .... where will it live .... do you have something similar. Sometimes, we buy things through habit, but like your troll beads, when you are over spending on storage for your beads, you have too many beads already. How many do you wear at a time? There is one other question I also use to see how important something is ... and it goes like this. If I had a catastrophe and say, the house burnt down .... would this be something I would buy again. If the answer is no - job done. If the answer is yes .... maybe I should rinse and repeat just a few days longer .... or put it on a wish list for someone else to get ideas for birthdays, christmas etc. Or even as a reward for not buying anything for a month. You know ... carrot and stick mentality.
I remember your troll beads. You did a good job of finding a cheaper substitute that was just as good. You were going to make bracelets and show us. I would still like to see them. As for frugal -- I just went through a thing where I hesitated for days over a nicely styled whistling tea kettle for $20, and one that was $40 and shaped like a cat even though I didn't like the way it looked, and spending $60 on another one that also was shaped like a cat with the whistle shaped like a mouse (!) and I thought it was ugly, too. It's as if I was going to buy the cat tea kettles because of the IDEA of their being shaped like cats. Well, for once my sanity won out and I have a $20 whistling tea kettle that suits me fine.
Val I think that you will be a great job with this. I am going to join you on this adventure! I also will take the money that I would have spent and give it to a charity. This is a fantastic opportunity to stop frivolous spending. God bless.
Aw thanks! That coin bank reacts to you putting a coin on the plate, by opening up its body and tipping the money into the newly formed "mouth". It's hilarious but not an urgent need. Or is it? 😂
Now I've stopped working and on a pension I really need to get a hold of my spending. I buy lots of craft supplies (of course) and a stupid computer game which I DEFINITELY need to stop that. I'll give No Spend Feb a go. In fact I'll have to try for the next 3 months at least. Do I really need to join a painting class that will cost £250 ??????
😂 I always tell people trying to save money to pretend they don’t have any. 😂😂😂 Works for me! ❤ Tip, I use up freezer and pantry items before I grocery shop when I’m trying to stretch money.
